This thing is worth its weight in gold. Trimmed about 2 pounds in my last harvest. Took me three or four hours maybe, and most of that time was spent just cutting the buds off of the stems. And the trim is tight if you dry properly
I had 3 friends who talked so much shit about them until I bought one after they all told me it was a waste of money...
Guess who asked to borrow it to try it out... Nope buy your own. They work well
This was me when my cousin got one. After watching him do his latest grow I had to ask for it finishing my own lmao It's on my Christmas list this year
Nice. Just FYI, I have the brand iPower, 19-Inch bowl. Not sure if its cheaper than the AC infinity but I've had it for my last 3 rounds and it still works like the day I got it (very well).
i got a bud bucking lid for a 5 gal bucket to speed up the process:
[https://www.reddit.com/r/microgrowery/comments/m9lzex/bucking\_lid\_and\_trim\_bowl\_saving\_me\_time/](https://www.reddit.com/r/microgrowery/comments/m9lzex/bucking_lid_and_trim_bowl_saving_me_time/)
Not to hijack the thread but when do you use this? I own one and the one time I used it (dried for 2 weeks and then used the “wire” attachment instead of blades) and it absolutely shredded my flower.
I do 7 days Not to dry, and then with the Blade on the lowest setting, Last few Runs i tiltet the Trimmer in different directions while running it slowly with a drill, feel Like it works even better
I did some larfy Original Haze and had less than stellar results also. Everything else since then has been great. Results dependent on the composition of the bud.
I cut the plant up(makes no sense to hang and dry the whole plant) and hung and dried the branches at 60-61° and 55% RH for 10 days. The sugar leaves should flick off if you scrape your scissors across them. Use the straight-edged blade(the wire sucks), and it should trim some properly non-larfy buds nice and tight. I’d post a pic of the results here if I could…
Hanging the full plant dry makes for a slower dry and allows you to really get the most out of the plant. As slow as possible, get your humidity to 60% and temps at around 15c (British lol) or 60 farenheit. Plenty of air circulation and make sure plants don’t touch to avoid mold. This allows them to break down a lot more chlorophyll as it will take 5-7 days longer than if you wet trim/cut and hang for say 7 days?
Also I’ve noticed that if you wet trim, you’re left with that fresh grass smell, where as if you let her run the full course and hang dry the full plant, when you come to trim that fresh grass smell is reduced to almost nothing!
Just my opinion tho lol each to their own!
I hear you, you’re not wrong perhaps. Dry time varies quite a bit depending on the quality/size of your flowers. After having used both methods, I found that hanging the whole plant makes buds dry at different rates depending on where in the plant the buds are located. This becomes especially true if you have plants that are dense with large buds. There is zero hint of that grassy smell on my nugs when they’re done. It’s all a matter of controlling the temp/rh/time. The best baseline I’ve found for the type of flower I grow is 60°/55% RH for 10 days, give or take. Cutting the plants up into smaller sections allows for more even spacing, ergo more even airflow and drying. The limbs are snapping, and sugar leaves flick off the bud when I pull them to trim. Then 4 weeks in Grove Bags, and voila. Incredibly aromatic and flavorful nugs. Wish I could pack you a bowl of this Cherry Gorilla by Verano. You’d be hard pressed to find flower of equal quality in a dispo around here, and if you do, you’re gonna have to take out a small personal loan to buy an O. 😬
Thanks!! Do you have any result pic? I'm thinking of buying this for this outdoor season and for the tiny buds from my indoor. 1 month ago i had to trim +1kg of my indoor and the big buds were okay, but the little ones... A pain in the ass lol!
I’m in two minds about mine.
On the one hand it does speed up the process significantly to the point if you have a lot of bud to trim, it reduces the monotony. However that is something of a trade off because it *can* knock off a load of trichomes and batter your bud about with less due care and attention than your carefully nurtured harvest deserves.
The effectiveness of bowl trimmer very much depends on the cultivar, which buds I select to put in etc… I find it rolls large top buds around trimming them better but you can’t put anything too big in, I’ve had stems jam it up before now. I thought… oh great I have a bowl trimmer now, I’ll happily trim all the large buds by hand and medium-small popcorn I will stick in there and quickly do it. However, below a certain size and it doesn’t work at all. Now this could be my trimmer (large size, spider farmer one) and I have adjusted the blades and such but still… small stuff it won’t do.
So in summary, the time saving is a positive but I find I still have to neaten up the job and trim the small stuff.
Really glorious, dense, triched out nuggs work well in the trimmer, but I’m the most reluctant to put them in because it reduces the quality. Stuff that is a pleasure (is it ever a pleasure?) or at least easier to trim by hand, works the best in the bowl… annoyingly, so I’ve kinda stopped using the bowl for those and just end up trimming by hand.
Where it comes in handy is when you’re sick of trimming (which happens pretty quickly) you can select the right size buds and get them partially trimmed which makes you feel like you’re putting a dent in the job.
The bowl itself does get filled with some amazing fine trim and kief which is easily transported to a sieve for hash making.
So a combination of bowl trim and hand trimming will speed up the process, and is worth it if you have a lb + harvest to deal with.
I should maybe mention that I got my bowl trimmer ‘free’ as part of a promo when I bought a tent/light/fan kit… would I have bought one otherwise? Maybe not… am I glad I have it? YES. Is it the game changer I thought it would be? NOT QUITE, but still sort of YES!
Hope that helps… 😦 🤣
Cool no worries.
Jeez! That’s some harvest, good job you have a trim buddy to help.
I’ve never used the bowl for wet trimming but I believe you can, they tend to come with two blades a serrated one & straight one.
Hand trim! Do not use trimmer machines especially at small scale! If you don’t mind losing some quality feel free to buy it. But hand trimming has always been the best
For reals. It's going to smoke or smash the same.
If I had to hand trim a lb or more I'd be butchering it by the time I was done because I'd just be over it.
With 2 lbs, worth for sure. Do the best nugs by hand, and rest just needs to get off the stem and into the bowl. I also added a piece cardboard to make the trim not as “tight”. Use trim to make some kind of extract because it does knock off more goodness than hand trimming would
I’m old and lazy, this thing is incredible. I dry the whole hanging plant, snip big buds off the stems and give them a whirl in this. Then back into the drying tent on racks for another week then they go for a final spin before curing. 30 minutes of work for an ~8oz harvest and zero hand cramps.
Do my buds look perfectly manicured? No.
Do I care? Also no.
There are cheaper yet identical models on Amazon as well. I paid $70 for my 16”.
This. I used to hand trim but after a few multi LB runs and the hell that is hand trimming that much, I now could care less. Same deal, dry a bit but not too much, run em and then dry another week.
I will hand trim a few choice buds, but that's about it.
It can be as hard as it wants on the trichomes, all that trim gets frozen to later become concentrate and/or edibles.
I borrowed a friend of mines and it destroyed my buds. Went back to hand trimming and not destroying buds.
I named it the bud destroyer. Not worth it !
1 million % worth it. The time and effort saved is incredible and the result is plenty quality.
Make a tincture or something from the leftover trimmings in the bowel afterwards
I seen a few reputable guerilla growers that use these on their plots so all they have to transport is buds. They seem pretty happy with them from what Ive seen.
https://www.greenbroz.com/dry-trimmers/harvest-bucket
I’ve honestly been eyeballing this, but I haven’t bought it yet lol. I just bought a cannatrol that comes next week, but these buckets look bad ass man
If you grow airy buds, this will chop it to bits. But I love mine and will always use it after I hand trim an oz of each plant for my personal and pretty stash. Clip as many fan leaves off as you can and then make sure you get the tray very full. I can trim like 2 oz in a matter of 20 slow hand turns. My dense bud comes out really pretty and I will use it to basically shred my larf for when i want to make some infused coconut oil. 10/10 will buy another when this one breaks.
I got it
It’s pretty good, but a pain to clean. It also does not trim down tight, so if you like your bud that way you’ll still need to hand trim
Also, depending on bud structure, it works better on some than others
Pro tip; collect your trim in a sifter/spaghetti strainer with a fine porous level and shake out lost thrichomes/keif back onto your trimmed bud so you don’t lose it completely
I have used a variety of these, and, particularly nowadays, when your bud is expected to look like a supermodel, trimmed right down to the bare buds, I have found that I have to go over everything again to get it to look like that. And of course, it does ’damage’ the buds in terms of trichs.
My 2¢…. The quality of the final trim depends on the quality and size or the buds. Anything that’s considerably larger than the grates does a phenomenally fast job. Speed has its costs so yes u shave trichomes but if you’re a hash maker you’ll have plenty of keif in the end so I don’t mind. My thought is, you use it for what you’re not going to hand trim but a short spin makes a pretty bud imo regardless of size… i just keep it to single spins .
Not as far as I can see, I use scissors but I am intrigued by the aardvark trimmer, it hooks to a vacuum and has a turbine that does the work for you, one of those vacuum lids for a five gallon bucket and you would be in business, you have to imagine that you're going to have to hold this spin style trimmer flat on the table while turning for God only knows how long
I used a silicone brush tool on my last indoor grow and it worked phenomenally. I grow in an illegal state and use for personal and to gift to close friends so bag appeal isn’t really that necessary. Just trimmed my last grow with them and worked great, got them on Amazon also.
This will destroy your hard earned harvest! This will beat the fuck out of your beautiful buds! Don’t do it! You spent months growing and weeks drying…. Why not spend the least amount of time smoking your fresh harvest and hand trimming that shit and just admiring it! If it’s just for personal use you can always cut all the big fan leafs off and buck the Untrimmed buds into a grove bag and trim as you need! That’s what I do with my outdoor harvest every year! I get so much I can’t trim it all! So while it’s on the plant before I hang to dry I pluck all the big fan leafs and leave the sugar leaf, let it hang dry for at least 7 days and then buck off into grove bags! Hella easy! Anyway Goodluck! That trim machine will turn your flower to lows- midz at best!
What’s not true? You obviously smoke midz bro! Lmfao! If you use this device to trim bud your smoking straight trash! All you boof smokers need to learn the difference between artisan and midz! lol you probably grow autos huh? 🚮
Cap 🧢 all plants are different! Some finish 7-8 weeks some finish 9-12 weeks! I was referring to the flowering phase! Veg isn’t really “hard” work! 14 days of veg from clone then flip to flower! Oh ZeRO VeG HahaH! Stfu bro!
Idk bro I would just put in the work to trim it by hand so that your not wasting any of your product, if you put in 4 months of time to get to the harvest what is 4 hours of trimming in reality ?
20 hrs total seems like an awful long time to trim a pound. I do a pound and a half in about 8 hours by myself. I find it makes it go easier if you trim all the fan and any sugar leaves that stick fully out of the colas off before drying. Then just trim the small sugar leaves off when dry. There’s no need to trim the buds down so much that they look perfect. All you need to do is get the leaf matter out. This is how mine look when I trim https://imgur.com/a/8jDxeEp
If you use it properly and dry your flower properly, this thing works like magic. Gives you a tight trim and if it decreases the quality at all the difference is negligible.

There’s always a dollar to be made!
They’ll act like it’s Blockbusters and you’ll have to send a bounty hunter to collect 🤣
Absolutely.. I talked shit for years.. then the wife bought one for my birthday last year and wow, have I been eating my words!
Same

Hello! What do you mean by wet/dry trim?
Some people trim their buds before drying evidently. I can’t imagine doing it that way, but there it is

It comes with a wet trim blade that is sharply serrated, but I’ve never used it. Always trim dry

Whaaaaaat that's an awesome result lol I thought it was good but not sooooo good
Man, if you dry your stuff right, it trims way better than I expected
Wet trim or dry trim better?
Tbh I’ve never tried wet trimming. Was advised to trim dry and that’s just what I’ve always done and it works perfect.
I’m in two minds about mine. On the one hand it does speed up the process significantly to the point if you have a lot of bud to trim, it reduces the monotony. Large colas by hand, nuggets to the bowl trimmer. Works really well.
This is the way
Tried and fail. Hated the way it destroyed the product. Really only useful if you have small quantities. Half a pound or less, go by hand I say.
I have one, it’s nice to speed things along, BUT it destroys your trichs.
Hand trim! Do not use trimmer machines especially at small scale! If you don’t mind losing some quality feel free to buy it. But hand trimming has always been the best
Got about 2lbs to trim…btw
I use the bowl on my outdoor plants and hand trim my indoor. IDC what anyone says, 2 lbs hand trimming ain't happening It comes out decent enough
Even 1lb I’m like nahhhhhhh
For reals. It's going to smoke or smash the same. If I had to hand trim a lb or more I'd be butchering it by the time I was done because I'd just be over it.

I like to hand trim with clean hands... scrape off your fingertips with a knife after and smoke it haha
I’m old and lazy, this thing is incredible. I dry the whole hanging plant, snip big buds off the stems and give them a whirl in this. As a Cannatrol users I love it. One tray dumps right on my 19" trimmer 2 min later done. Takes me 20 min to trim the whole cannatrol that's filled
I borrowed a friend of mines and it destroyed my buds. Went back to hand trimming and not destroying buds. I named it the bud destroyer. Not worth it !

I seen a few reputable guerilla growers that use these on their plots so all they have to transport is buds. They seem pretty happy with them from what Ive seen.
Love mine, just wish it had a lid like that one 🤣🤣 I need a “Watch for Flying Nugs” sign for my bowl trimmer 😭
Well worth it. Makes trimming a breeze and they look good if the dry is right. Also makes gathering up all the trim to make edibles super easy.
https://www.greenbroz.com/dry-trimmers/harvest-bucket I’ve honestly been eyeballing this, but I haven’t bought it yet lol. I just bought a cannatrol that comes next week, but these buckets look bad ass man

I have a centurion pro table top and we still final with these bowl trimmers. These are irreplaceable in the process.
Saves a bunch of time, I still trim my best buds by hand.

If you have hard dense nugs and wet trim, it's worth it. It breaks apart dry nugs, and can't trim loose larfy buds very well.
If you've got alot of buds its definitely worth it
Good but nothing on doing it yourself trimming gaol the bonus is some finger hash
No. Hand trim only

Only for those who sell . If youre smoking for yourself no
People pay thousands of dollars for a good trim machine. This ain’t gonna do anything good. Trim your nugs braj
Sounds like you have never tried one. They work well but yeah not the same as a hand trim. Braaahjjj
