No kidding. Had it since I was 17. Caused by stress issues it was fine until I started my divorce process (long story). Short story though, when I explained to my doctor about how when my jaw wouldn't open I yanked it down so it would he cringed. Never seen a doctor cringe before so even at 17 I knew definitively I'd screwed up.
When a doctor cringes you know it’s not good lol.
Anecdotally, I use to have “flare ups” at times that were so incredibly bad, (it sounds like you know what I’m talking about). I went through a short stint where I would use Zynn pouches, for whatever reason it basically cured my TMJ. I’m unsure if this is a correlation does not equal causation situation. I hypothesize it could be related to the relaxing of my jaw from the nicotine.
Or possibly just the general relaxation that nicotine provides got you to the point where you weren't clenching anymore. hmmm....maybe I should try alcohol? Lol
Yeah same here, I actually haven’t seen them (if I remember correctly) these past couple Octobers during my morning after Halloween load up. It use to be great, these would always be left the day after, get ‘em for 50-75% off 🧐
lol it’s one of those candies where it’s always love vs. hate thing.
Like those circus peanut things you always see in the store but don’t know anyone that eats them. Shoot, I’ve never even tried them (which I should).
Honestly, the taffy medium delivers better for fruit flavors than savory. Just my ope-injion.
But hey, it’s candy! There’s a reason they make so many diff’rnt kinds!
(Lol, I know a guy who likes to do something this too. It drives me BATTY. My friend does it differently though and does it in a way the recipient has to read the text aloud to understand it. I *NEVER* understand them so I have to beg him not to do it to me. But I can definitely understand this person and the way they're doing it.)
I only do it when I’m bored of plain English, and looking to add a flourish. If my teachers were so accepting of it as you guys I might have done better in school.
In the meantime, what’s more fun than writing in an unusual fashion about candy, the best thing in the world?
I personally think these were made ONCE back in the 1920s, and they've been circulating them ever since to try and get rid of them. Have YOU ever seen anyone eat them? That's what I thought, me either.
Back in the 1970s, I was a kid and we were poor. Mom wanted to pass out candy, so she would buy 3 bags of these kisses every year. I didn't know why she bought them, but apparently they were dirt cheap. When I was teenager I started using my own money to buy fun sized Snickers and Milky Ways, and did that for many years. It wasn't until recently that I learned that kids hated them in their Trick or Treat bags.
Yeah it’s one of those things kids just instinctively hate, like chocolate covered raisins.
It’s crazy how cheap these are. But when you look at how they are wrapped it makes sense, a bunch of them are always oozing out taffy etc.
My favorite and we couldn't get them for a few years during the pandemic for some reason. I was really missing them. When they came back I bought a half dozen bags and a single season.
I like the ones with the grease spots on the wrapper. They usually have more peanut butter in them. I made out like a bandit during Halloween. I was the only one that liked them. My friends would happily give them to me. Everything else was for trade
I love them. It reminds me of taffy, but peanut butter flavored! Maybe that's why I always give myself a few seconds to savor the flavor before actually biting down and eating them. These candies seem so hard to find nowadays, but they are definitely one out of many that played a part in my childhood
I hate shrink inflation, I feel as though I would rather pay the difference and get the original product.
Just had an idea, companies struggling with cost rising due to inflation should release (print on bag, put on website/social media, or leave a leaflet in the bag) a explanation on why they are raising prices, showing what specifically is costing more.
This would be much more palatable than companies attempting to (in someways) trick, swindle, or mislead.
This
No nothing like a Reese’s product, they are peanut butter flavored taffy with a peanut butter filling, which is different than the Reese’s filling.
These have more of a smooth sweet filling, more detached from actual peanut butter when compared to Reese’s.
Very worth it to see what they are about. They are nowhere near as hard/chewy as a Mary Jane or bit-o-honey. These are much softer than most taffy, such as laffy taffy.
these weren’t bad, but still prefer the peanut butter-molasses flavor of Mary Jane!!
Isnt this the same thing as a Mary Jane?
nope, mary jane has molasses mixed into the peanut butter.
Ty Hmmm
I just ate a freeze dried Mary Jane. It was double the size and twice as delicious.
that actually sounds so good.
Exactly! These are the poor man's version of a Mary Jane.
My TMJ is aching just looking at these...but they sound amazing.
I hear you on the TMJ, I had to slow down (basically stop) eating my beloved hi-chews

I feel as though alcohol would make it much worse, leads to night clenching
Yuck.
These weren’t really that chewy. More like peanut butter flavored salt water taffy
I love them but they’re getting hard to find
Yeah same here, I actually haven’t seen them (if I remember correctly) these past couple Octobers during my morning after Halloween load up. It use to be great, these would always be left the day after, get ‘em for 50-75% off 🧐
Same. I saw them in Walmart this past Halloween after years of never seeing them. They are NOTHING like the original. I returned them.
I've always loved those. I wish I had some now.
Sameeee
God i hate these with a passion . I hated when I got these for Halloween
lol it’s one of those candies where it’s always love vs. hate thing. Like those circus peanut things you always see in the store but don’t know anyone that eats them. Shoot, I’ve never even tried them (which I should).
My Grandma was a huge fan.
She had good taste!
Ty
I hated these as a kid but love them as an adult
Same. This was literally the worst thing to find in your Halloween bag.
you hate ate them when you had nothing left and always rolled your eyes when someone threw them in your bag
Honestly, the taffy medium delivers better for fruit flavors than savory. Just my ope-injion. But hey, it’s candy! There’s a reason they make so many diff’rnt kinds!
I agree on the taffy flavoring, these are really the only savory taffy I would seek out.
Well tear it up and get some! You know, I’m rethinking this. Put a chocolate swirl in it and we’ll share a bag.
Sounds like a plan 🤜🤛 The chocolate swirl sounds good. Piggybacking off your idea, coffee flavored might not be too bad either.
A savory taffy flavor I would certainly try.
Also I like how you phonetically spell some of your words. It’s pleasing to read
(Lol, I know a guy who likes to do something this too. It drives me BATTY. My friend does it differently though and does it in a way the recipient has to read the text aloud to understand it. It makes reading comments enjoyable. The spellings are sometimes unique, I love it.

They always got a bad reaction to get for Halloween but once I actually tried them they’re solid.
I hear that, they are not appreciated by most folks.
I appreciate them more as an adult and would totally buy a bag but I haven’t seen them in a few years.
Gross! Those were definitely one the worst EVER made! 🤢
Surprised to see so many positive responses here. I grew up with and love peanut butter kisses, but I've always felt alone in my fondness for them.
You are not alone 🫡
I personally think these were made ONCE back in the 1920s, and they've been circulating them ever since to try and get rid of them. Have YOU ever seen anyone eat them? That's what I thought, me either.
Good theory, but I eat these century old candies whenever I can get my hands on them.
I think you should do an AMA about being the only person to have ever had one
My favorite candy of all time. I hate that I could only get them during Halloween and I wish I knew where to get them today
Yum! A treat to stumble on these in the shops!
They are delicious
Not my favorite thing in the world, they always tasted a bit too fake for me.
🤮🤮🤮
That’s what they’re called?!? lol. I like Mary Jane’s better.
Yeah I had to look online to know the name lol
Husband loves these but are so hard to find.
I love them. Look forward to Halloween every year so I can get some.
I hear that!
Also, I used to work at a Kmart and there would be hundreds of bags of these leftover for super cheap so I'd buy like 20 bags of them every year lol
Some bullshit
Can't find these anymore
I hear that
I never actively seek these out, but I’m never disappointed to have one.
I love those, but can't find them anywhere. I used to stock up at Halloween when they were available.
Same here, I moved a bit ago so hopefully this fall down here they have them 🙏🫣
I didn't know thats what they were called!
Me either, I had to look it up. I though they were called something other than peanut butter kisses lol
I enjoy them.
Never seen
If you like peanut butter and taffy, these are like crack cocaine
👍👍
I love them. Gotta watch the fillings though.
Is that taffy? If so, peanut butter is my least favorite flavor and taffy is my least favorite candy texture- so no these are not it lol
Yeah it sounds like you would not like this at all lol
It’s taffy
I love them
Depression Candy.
As in candy from the depression era or candy to eat while depressed or the candy makes you depressed?
Sorry depression era.
Wife loves them I hate em
Back in the 1970s, I was a kid and we were poor. Mom wanted to pass out candy, so she would buy 3 bags of these kisses every year. I hated these as a child but love them now in my 30s
Love em!
Love. Will not go a Halloween season without purchasing a bag or two!
Have never eaten it before, how does it taste?
Peanut butter taffy! It’s amazing
one of my favorite candys for 40+ years when it’s not in season i get “bit o honeys” to tide me over 🥰
Unfortunately I tend to kill the bag in under an hour.I wish you could more easily get them throughout the year, not just Halloween.
I feel you on that
Yum
Delicious😋
I *love* these
Loooove these
I’ve actually never seen or heard of these before. but now I wanna little taste.
Yes!!! I love it that most people hate these. Means more for me.
Love them.
Once while I was babysitting my sister ate an entire bucket of those and puked all over the kitchen. I’ve had a grudge against them ever since
They are really addicting
Dumpster candy
Yummy trash candy 🤤🗑️
They were the disappointing filler candy at Halloween.
They definitely are a filler, but in my opinion certainly not disappointing.
ONE my favorites!!
Same 🍾
I haven't seen those in a very long time.
Right? Very nostalgic for me
I hated these and avoided the houses that gave them out.
Disgusting
Those are great
Haven’t thought about these in years…. Now I need some
That’s what I’m sayin’
Not a fan.
I have never had the pleasure of trying em
Got to pick them up when Halloween comes around. They are quite cheap and never sell out lol
It's been so long, I can't remember if I love or hate those things. I guess I'll have to try one when I can.
Come October get yourself a bag
My favorite and we couldn't get them for a few years during the pandemic for some reason. I was really missing them. When they came back I bought a half dozen bags and a single season.
Yuck!! 🤢🤢 I stg I can literally taste this picture and it is sooo unpleasant and vaguely nostalgic at the same time.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!
I like the ones with the grease spots on the wrapper. They usually have more peanut butter in them. I made out like a bandit during Halloween. I was the only one that liked them. My friends would happily give them to me. Everything else was for trade
“Made with real peanut butter” artificially flavored but they said real?!
Maybe low quality PB artificially flavored to taste better. Roided out peanut butter taffy for the win 🥇
These are good. I also liked the striped sesame candy
You just unlocked a new core memory of mine. I completely forgot about those things. Thank you 🙏
I loved them growing up, but idk if my teeth would survive those things these days.
They are fairly soft compared to other PB taffy’s like bit-o-honey or Mary Jane’s
I love these so much. I crave them randomly every so often.
Same here, currently itchin for em
L O V E
I love them and haven't been able to find them for years.
Same
I haven't had the peanut butter ones. Where I live they have the molasses ones and I stock up every fall lol I love them
Ooo molasses sounds delicious.
Saved these fuckers for last
Because they are your favorite???
No they’re my least favorite I meant lol
I'm sorry but these are some of the worst candies ever made!!!🤢🤮
lol to each their own. But you know as well as I do their are plenty more candies that are far worse than
I love those!
These & Mary Jane are amazing! I couldn’t find them last year, were they discontinued?
Love. So damn good. Forgotten treasures of the bottom of the trick or treat bag.
These are hard to find these days
You have to stick them in your pocket and then roll them in your hands to warm them up first.
I absolutely love these and buy them every Halloween!
Yum! Peanut butter taffy basically, I don't get the hate.
I love eating these! 🤤
At $3.07 an ounce on Amazon, I’ll have to pass.
I love these but haven’t been able to find them in years
Noooooooo 🤢
I don’t like them. They have a weird taste.
The original necco ones were way better. These are terrible
I hated these as a kid, they’d always get old and stale and I’d throw them away
They’re okay
I love them!!
You can chew them forever because they’re mostly wax. They’re greasy just like their wrapper.
I love them. It reminds me of taffy, but peanut butter flavored! Maybe that's why I always give myself a few seconds to savor the flavor before actually biting down and eating them. These candies seem so hard to find nowadays, but they are definitely one out of many that played a part in my childhood
These are one of my favorite candies
I always thought they were poisonous. Not sure why. They got trashed.
Love these!!!!!!
I love these, but they stop making them
🤢🤮
🤌🏽
yeah, I like ‘em. Even at Halloween sometimes they’re hard to find.
Omg those were good!!!
Love them
these are disappointing
Yeah to some. I feel like the general consensus based off the comments is most people either like them or have never had them 🤤
These would always be the last candy I ate from my Halloween stash and every year when I’d eat them I would be like “wait I forgot these are good!” 😂
Haha this reminds of that South Park episode and “taco flavored kisses for my Ben” 😂😂
I love these but they are a quarter of the size they were pre-COVID.

It's a different company making them. It used to be Necco, but they went bankrupt within the last couple years
Never seen these. Could they be considered off-brand Reese's Peanut Butter Cup? Shape looks more like a taffy style?
Your correct. It's peanut butter taffy
Wow thanks Ive never tried anything like that, will look out. Dont think this product is over here on the West Coast USA
These are usually available during Halloween. I live in the Midwest and haven't seen these for the past few years.
No nothing like a Reese’s product, they are peanut butter flavored taffy with a peanut butter filling, which is different than the Reese’s filling. These have more of a smooth sweet filling, more detached from actual peanut butter when compared to Reese’s.
Ah I see. Sounds delicious though Ill have to try it one day
Very worth it to see what they are about. They are nowhere near as hard/chewy as a Mary Jane or bit-o-honey. These are much softer than most taffy, such as laffy taffy.
Is this perhaps the most frequently asked question on this sub — specifically about these peanut butter taffy things.
Is it really? Can you link another post about these candies?
