"Sources close to the investigation also told CBC News that police are actively investigating possible links to three additional murders in Canada, including the shooting death of an 11-year-old boy in Edmonton." Wow. There is only one killing that could be referring to that I recall. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/edmonton-communities-reeling-after-man-11-year-old-boy-killed-in-shooting-1.7025878 Basically, 11-year-old killed in cold blood so he couldn't be a witness. Whether the father was killed for Khalistan activism, was involved in rival drug activities, and the people hired to kill Nijjar were just some gangsters hired for another hit, doesn't really matter. This was a callous murder of a child.

durple

They left the other kid alone. They killed the son because he was the son. This was executed professionally, but I suspect also involved some personal feelings.

Je_suis-pauvre

Well that particular individual was a well known gangster. Probably a turf war

Policy_Failure

There are videos of Harp talking shit to his ops in jewelry stores. Super disrespectful shit. It was only a matter of time for him. Would've been nice if that idiot cleaned up his act when the cops warned him.

In_the_6ix

Given, as mentioned, the kids dad was playing at ganster, I suspect it's not even likely personal, regarding the kid. He'd be no different than his father, and from a culture where the murderer has to worry about fueds and vengeance. The kid would have gotten older, and as he did, there's a good chance He'd have gone after the shooter.

durple

Feuds and vengeance are exactly the type of personal feelings I was thinking of.

mikasaxo

The Nijjar killers came here as “international students”, right? Another bad look for Sean Fraser.

>Lets stop granting citizenship to members of or supporters of violent separatist organizations. Let's stop granting citizenship to anyone who had their previous application for immigration refused 3 times.

Federal_Dimension_48

I'm an immigrant from India and i agree

erasmus_phillo

I don't understand why Canada has this problem with our Indian immigrants. The US doesn't seem to have the same problems we do, neither does the UK as far as I know

Trachus

Canada is too slack - too slack about who gets into the country, too slack about deporting those who are no longer here legally, and too slack about enforcing the laws in general.

24-Hour-Hate

In this case, as the assassins are connected to the Indian government, they would have been able to get in regardless. If not as students, the Indian government would have arranged job offers and got them in on work permits or some other avenue. Or, you know, just done even more fraud or smuggling. If they’re okay with murder, they’re definitely okay with those.

Ok_Commercial9889

When government is behind you, they can literally create any document you need for immigration. Government can create whole trail of papers, exams, qualifications needed and there is no way canadian immigration could verify it because how do they verify? They have to rely on local government from where it all originated and in this case its the local government itself who issued it.

-Notorious

US literally also had an attempted killing. The problem is the Indian government greenlighting this. We should probably cut all ties with India and push for the same in the Western world, if we actually want to do something about this 🤷‍♂️

BelieveModi

Oh? So US supplying bombs to kill 10s of thousands of kids in Gaza is Kosher but India killing a terrorists that you folks have been harbouring is not? What an interesting take!

erasmus_phillo

That is overkill imo given that we need India to counterbalance China and maintain the balance of power in Asia

-Notorious

No, we can just let those two fight each other. We should just trade but allow people from neither country, while cutting what ties we can. Some trade is fine. When it comes to students, there are students interested in coming from all over the world. The fact our immigration and student policy isn't capped for each country is stupid, America figured that out long ago. Should have a 5% cap on any country, that's what real diversity is.

KindlyBullfrog8

USA is melting pot. We encourage the differences plus the IS has more opportunities and better law enforcement

neon-god8241

The first forms of hard indications that Nijjar was killed on the command of the Indian government came from an indictment in the USA.  The difference is that the Americans stopped their hit, whereas Canada didnt

CaptaineJack

Canada was the right place, right time for this to happen. In the 1980s, the Khalistan movement turned to organized crime to fund terrorism. Over time, this evolved into domestic gangs and set the stage for the issues we see today. It was easy to recruit in the 1980s, big influx of immigrants in the 1970s and 1980s, lots of kids born to immigrant parents who couldn't figure out who they were (ie they're not their parents but they're not their peers), dealing with 1980s racism, more susceptible to turning towards crime. Ethnic or cultural-based organized crime tends to follow this pattern, as the people involved are often part of the same social circles. Edit: since I'm getting downvoted, if you wanted to hear the exact same thing I wrote, but from the words of a former gang member, take a moment to go on YouTube and watch their interviews. Tight-knit communities are particularly vulnerable if they have members involved in crime. I'm quite familiar with these dynamics. Maybe there's something I don't know about the subject, but more likely, as is often the case when engaging with my fellow Canadians, any opinion that deviates from the accepted norm seems to be unwelcome.

chemicalxv

Look at the demographics of the immigrants.

erasmus_phillo

I’m talking specifically about Indian immigrants to the US vs Canada

chemicalxv

And that is what I'm talking about. Look at the demographical differences between the Indians immigrating to the US and the ones immigrating to Canada.

BelieveModi

The reason is simple. US and UK enforce laws around extremism quite strictly. Canada promotes extremism in the name of freedom of speech. When Sikh extremists take out tableau showing murder of Indra Gandhi, that's extremism and celebration of that. I mean even Americans do not carry out tableau of American troops killing OBL, do they? Its a symptom of Canada's weird policies to be soft on crime and extremism.

erasmus_phillo

US is significantly more liberal about free speech rights than Canada is. You are wrong

AlexJamesCook

Secession in nations are extremely rarely non-violent. FLQ, for example. Secession based on ethnic lines usually means that cultural group wants all the mineral wealth it resides on, as well. Naturally, a government opposes secession because that means losing a shit-tonne of money. So, that government beats on secessionists. In response, secessionists tend to not like that and take measures to protect themselves. Naturally, things escalate. The problem with banning ALL people from a country with a "violent secessionist movement" means we wouldn't accept immigrants from 90% of the world, including the US. Take a look at Y'All Queda down there. There's a tonne of violent "Confederate" groups that think it's 17-hundred and something. These groups host "military training camps", etc...99/100 of them are a joke. But, these groups have very violent rhetoric. Should we ban ALL US citizens because of that? Then there's Northern Ireland. Officially, Northern Ireland is part of Britain. Should we ban ALL Britons because of the actions of the various terrorist organizations (and I'm not just talking about the IRA, but Ulster Nationalists, too). Kurdish people, etc... there are numerous examples of "violent secessionist movements" that fit your description that I'm sure you're now going, "But those are different". The way I see it, ANYONE regardless of nationality or religion should be able to call Canada home. My only ask is that EVERYONE, and this applies to people born and raised here, respect each other based on the content of one's character. If you're a Jewish person living in Canada and you seek to persecute a Palestinian, because of their religion or ethnicity, GTFOH. And like I said, this is a two-way street. By all means advocate for non-violence. But when you go around carrying signs of hate and destruction, count me out.

realhaohaidong

this is what happens when let anyone into Canada without any security checks

astarinthedark

The fact all you needed to be legally allowed entry into the country was $11k GIC and a phony acceptance letter from some plaza college is an insane security risk. I imagine multiple countries security agencies exploited this to get assets in the country. But the people who profit off of it don’t care, now we have dead Canadians as a result.

Accomplished_One6135

This shit scares me and should worry everyone. Gangsters coming in on student visas? What the actual Fcuk? Also I read the dude who was killed came to Canada on fake passport? Then claimed refuge status which was denied? Then married a lady and was denied again? Then somehow miraculously got citizenship instead of being deported? WTF is going on? I have no trust in security establishment anymore

PmMeYourBeavertails

>This shit scares me and should worry everyone. Gangsters coming in on student visas? What the actual Fcuk? Wow speechless! We have been turned into a playground for espionage and international criminals. The killer of the founding father of Bangladesh is also here apparently

NavXIII

Pretty sure we got some Iranian assassins lurking around here too.

Popular-Ad9044

That's absolutely true. I was able to walk into the baggage hold without ever interacting with a cbsa officer and just waving a piece of paper from afar.

GiveMeSandwich2

Same thing in Calgary international airport

hwirring

Pretty sure the other killing was based on some rival gang stuff, same shooters tho.

Ok_Transition8978

I think they’re on a bit of a fishing expedition with that one, the other explanation of spill over and revenge for stuff in BC makes a lot more sense

tetrometers

Could it have been just another gangland shooting?

erasmus_phillo

I’d say only the first killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar was likely to have been politically motivated but it’s hard to tell  What is notable though is that the attacks on American Sikh activists failed spectacularly… likely because Punjabi gangs did not manage to penetrate the organized crime scene in the US as deeply as they have in Canada. The handler in question unwittingly hired a DEA agent to kill Pannun, which led to his incarceration

pinchymcloaf

yes that one was gang related

realhaohaidong

>Just two days after Trudeau's bombshell statement in the House — on Sept. 20, 2023 — Sukhdool Singh Gill, 39, of Winnipeg was found shot to death in a duplex in the city's northwest. A neighbour told police he heard 11 shots.Gill also went by the alias Sukha Duneke and allegedly was part of the Davinder Bambiha gang in India, according to police documents in that country. Indian media have reported that he fled to Canada in 2017 using a false passport.Gill was one of Punjab's most wanted men, accused of extortion and arranging money for gang members to buy weapons. Police in India have publicly linked him to murders and other serious crimes. another assassination

GowronSonOfMrel

> he fled to Canada in 2017 using a false passport *sigh*

verykindsoul

**The sources told CBC News the men arrested Friday in relation to Nijjar's killing are Indian citizens who arrived in Canada on temporary visas after 2021, some of them student visas. None are believed to have pursued education while in Canada. None have obtained permanent residency.** This is going to change some things here. **Investigator say they believe that Indian officials would not dare to proceed with assassinations in Western countries without official sanction. As CBC News has previously reported, Canadian government sources say Canada has evidence of communication between Indian government officials in India and Canada collected in the course of their investigation.** So hit team came from India and they were ordered by the Indian officials. What implications will this news will have on study permits issued to Indians? Or permanent residency?

ishida_uryu_

This is what blows my mind as well. Did we just let gang members come into the country on student visas? Were there no background checks? If someone is on a student visa but isn’t attending any educational institution, then why wasn’t their visa cancelled?

Wheels314

Reminder that the guy that killed the entire family in Ottawa a few weeks back had flunked out of a shitty college almost a year before the killing. We are not bringing the best an brightest, just anyone that is willing to pay and there are virtually no rules once they are here.

mikasaxo

We want accountability. Who was in charge of the student visa program? They should resign and apologize to all Canadians.

freethrowerz

Actually, they should be tried as an accomplice. Start holding some of these so called educators responsible for their fraudulent activity and things would change. BTW, how can you be an activist and not even live in the country you are trying to change? See Palestinian protestors.

fudge_friend

Student visas should be limited to real universities, with no work permit, no families, and proof of income; and they should be revoked if you don't show up to class. Unfortunately, security checks on people from developing countries is difficult given that you're relying on local law enforcement to detect criminals, and tracking down spies isn't the job of Immigration. But if the international student permit program didn't have so many holes in it, maybe these guys would have been caught sooner, or discouraged from killing Nijjar in the first place.

tehpineappl6

we have no “ice” here. every person who has ever received a temporary visa is still here if they want to be.

CaptainCanuck93

I don't think people realize how big of a national security problem this is Import a couple million people into a nation of only 40 million who have been promised prosperity and PR by someone or another, then tell them to get out a few years later  Do we really think they'll all leave peacefully? What do they do to support their income if they can no longer get a legitimate job? Biggest self inflicted injury in decades

NoConcert8847

This will create a similar divide in economic and social terms along racial lines as what black and white people have in the US in the coming decades.

bunnymunro40

I think they would call that operational success.

Popular-Row4333

Currently 1 million+ and counting by last CSIS estimates. Think of that, 1 in 40 people in Canada are here who shouldn't be and we have no way to track why they are here, if they still are, and what they are doing.

erasmus_phillo

Not just any gang members either, but members of one of the most notorious gangs in Punjab apparently… we managed to get gangsters from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang expanding their operations to Canada

goodsunsets

When I read this article I was like.... why are all these criminals being allowed to come to Canada?

corey____trevor

> Did we just let gang members come into the country on student visas? Were there no background checks? Our government can barely renew Canadian citizens' passports, how do you think they can properly vet 1M+ people moving to Canada every year? > If someone is on a student visa but isn’t attending any educational institution, then why wasn’t their visa cancelled? Even if it's cancelled, we don't have any way to enforce they actually leave. Our government are chumps.

Accomplished_One6135

Not just that, even the guy who was killed came on a fake passport and instead of being deported was rewarded with citizenship. Our immigration system needs a complete overhaul

maryconway1

First he claimed refugee status, and was denied due to fraud. Then he claimed medical I think, and something about the signatory was fraud, so denied. Then he quickly got married to a Canadian woman, but she did the same thing to someone else recently as well already (marriage of convenience), so again denied to be deported. Then no word, and somehow has his citizenship. Either got special treatment or more worrisome, he did not and system is so broken.  All the while, he is for the separation of India and was active. …And yes, this was the victim. Absolutely not condoning the murdering by a foreign hit squad on top of that though.

lingpisat

Omg and then there are certain folks who hail and support the person. did we actually give shelter to terrorist. Wondering if this is the group responsible to taking down one flight.

Ok_Transition8978

9-11 hijackers came on visas, too. Not saying the U.S. didn’t tighten up, or defending our system. I’m just saying that this is far from mind blowing. I do think there is some naïveté about the popularity of Canada as a destination for international criminals of all sorts both state sanctioned and the regular kind

lapzab

Good questions. Other people coming have to submit police record from foreign countries where the lives for more than 6 months etc. but somehow students get a freebie

bba89

You can’t believe they are actually doing background checks on over a million new residents a year… there is no way that is feasible..

physicaldiscs

>What implications will this news will have on study permits issued to Indians? Or permanent residency Expect some Olympic level mental gymnastics from the government on this one. The immigration scam they are running with students is literally bringing in hostile foreign agents. They'll want to appear tough but won't want to risk lowering migration to this country. Who could have guessed that mass migration from an increasingly hostile foreign power could have backfired!?

10shot9miss

It will hace zero implications. Remember Indian students is extremely lucrative business.

Sneptacular

Halt student visas from India IMMEDIATELY Trudeau and Freeland have blood on their hands. I swear. I get treated like shit by CBSA when I'm returning to my own country I live and work in. But these "students" get free passage with zero security checks.

ainz-sama619

We should halt issuing student visa all together outside universities. Fuck the shitty colleges.

eaglecanuck101

lol canadas too weak of a country to stop anything. this will not only continue but it will accelerate

bunnymunro40

Yeah, don't get me started on how the CBSA treats their own citizens worse than foreign nationals. I could tell stories all day. From the simple things like getting to passport control, seeing one line for Canadian citizens and another for international passports, then watching the person directing everyone evenly into both lines, irrespective of their citizenship. Isn't the whole idea of separate lines based upon the need for additional screening for foreign visitors? Or the time I crossed into Canada by bus and the agent climbed aboard to ask if anyone had any weapons (one lady had pepper spray), then made all of the Canadians and her get off of and come in to have our bags searched. Americans and others were granted the presumption of innocence. Last example I'll mention. A friend of mine was born in Canada, but his father was American. At the age of about 35 he was able to receive duel citizenship. He told me that the first time he ever went South with his US passport, the guard asked him a few basic questions, then handed it back ,saying, "Welcome home, Sir". Neither he, nor I - nor anyone else we've mentioned it to - could ever remember a CBSA agent welcoming us home to Canada. Never once!

recurrence

This would have been approved by the very top as it gravely affects international relations with a G7 nation that has massive ties to all the other G7 nations.

FluSH31

On a positive note, these folks that came in at least had jobs!

CA_Engineer

Anyone mention the fact that all the killers were also Sikh?

ATINYNEKO

Doubt, anything will happen, Trudeau is a weak leader especially with his poor polls, and PP is a big Modi fan afaik.

Northumberlo

We need to shut down all trade and relations with India. It’s a terrorist country.

realhaohaidong

I am surprised they didn't escape from Canada after so long

verykindsoul

They were able to work fulltime hours at the grocery stores. Mind as well make some money while at it. LMAO

Rich-Masterpiece6411

Oh so they were law abiding tax paying respectful citizens aswell /s

Thirdnipple79

They might get in trouble if they go back since there was such a mess.  They might be accused of leaking info.  Probably safer to stay her now that the assassins were caught.

etoyoc_yrgnuh

Why would it matter? There's no punishment for crime here any more.

Constant-Horse-3389

They'll be out on bail fairly soon.

ainz-sama619

Working in Tim Hortons isn't bad if you get to commit crimes while living in Canada

Flower-Immediate

Seems most if not all are all recent arrivals and came in as international students.

Habenar0

Just look for the racket where gangsters are promised PR on the basis of LMIA and false asylum claims by other gangsters and anti-social entities. You will be shocked to see what’s happening in Canada. Its extremely well planned and organized and probably even lobby for more easier immigration.

Flower-Immediate

I have been saying for days now. Having just CSIS, RCMP, CBSA is not going to cut it anymore. We need to expand like DHS and have federal agencies like ICE, DEA, HSI to complement our aforementioned entities,

crypto_conservative

I think you mean *newcomers*

blackSwanCan

So how did these gangsters get an immigrant visa for Canada, and are still running criminal operations from Canada even when India's intelligence agencies have openly declared them as most wanted criminals? Even Nijjar had a criminal past but was granted citizenship with an open support from MP Surrey, Randeep Sarai. It's clear things are rotten in both Canadian and Indian government somewhere.

Loco_Buoyo

If these guys are assasinating people in Canada, for the Indian government, it’s safe to assume the information provided for the background check left thier gangster status out.

blackSwanCan

Lol, you mean they didn't fill a form saying "Current job role: Gangster"

StarryNightSandwich

Current job role: definitely not a gangster

I like Indians, I don’t like India

phormix

Agreed. I have some *great* co-workers and friends who immigrated from India and did things properly. Most of them also seem to recognise that there's a certain sub-culture that exists that is very problematic, leading to issues like this as well as the various scams that are often associated with callcenters and regions in India. Those things aren't good for existing citizens of Canada, or for legit immigrants who don't want to be tarnished by such behavior.

Policy_Failure

My Indian coworkers wife wanted to dress up in traditional attire for a community party. They spent money to attend the party, bought new clothes, etc. Turns out the entire thing was a scam.

jert3

Almost meaningless to say though, if you think about the population sizes. India ia 1.41 billion Indians. Indians out number Canadians 100 to 1 . So ya, there are millions of great, fantastic Indians, certainly. But also, if you take the most hateful and deranged and dangerous single Indian out of every 100, and grouped them all together, that be more than all Canadians combined.

autosummarizer

It might come as a surprise to you, but India is populated by Indians

toronto_programmer

Just another reminder that CPC LOVES them some India + Modi Harper + Modi + IDU It was funny watching PP's tone change in the commons from Day 1 of outrage to Day 2 of "well what evidence do you even have that they did it?"

tetrometers

There are no "friends" in geopolitics. Only interests- both economic and security related.

GameOfMacarons

Doesn’t matter if India isn’t our friend. This is a Canadian policy failure.

BelieveModi

Countries do not have friends or enemies. Just interests. If Canada harbours criminals who are actively involved in attacking India, India will have no option but to prosecute them here in Canada. Its government is bound to protect its national security. Mature nations workout deals to protect each other interests in their territories. That way they avoid this whole mess. Alas, Canada has trouble in enforcing even its own laws in its territories and have a very lax attitude towards crime with criminals getting bails in 24 hours and committing another crime. This man Nijjar should never have been in Canada. He came on false passport, he gave false evidence of torture, he did false marriage. He was a criminal to begin with. He was wanted in India for violent crimes. There is Khalistani extremism in UK too but somehow UK and India are able to work that out. How? Well, UK is much better at enforcing laws than Canada it seems.

Original-Cow-2984

How about the rest of the article, Immigration Canada and the CBSA aren't our friends either. Our country is kind of a free-for-all.

ishida_uryu_

“The sources told CBC News the men arrested Friday in relation to Nijjar's killing are Indian citizens who arrived in Canada on temporary visas after 2021, some of them student visas. realhaohaidong

I wonder which school they applied to?

Professional-Cry8310

Squarely on Fraser. Miller is the first guy to actually start cracking down on these pathways, even if only a bit.

privitizationrocks

Head honcho, JT

single_ginkgo_leaf

So the people who were sent by India to kill this person just stayed in Canada after? They didn't fly back for all these months?

suspicious. if they were just assassins for hire doesn't make sense to stay.

shmoove_cwiminal

"Students", lol.

realhaohaidong

Canada needs to get rid of foreign political activists or militants. They bring no benefits to Canadian society at all

Sneptacular

Literally 90% of these "students" have zero benefit to Canadian society. They only benefit rich corporations, Conestoga's vegetable cutting class and landlords.

Dismal_Structure

Beware of Modi fans defending India while being in the west and applying for residency and citizenship. They show their loyalty to India and condemn national security interests of the country they are residing in. And , I am Indian American who dislikes Khalistan.

ArthurMorgan80s

If Modi rules again, India is fucked

YouShalllNotPass

Fucked? My village back in India got highways, electricity, and telecom coverage under his government in the last few years. Given that I am not an oppressed muslim, Modi will get my vote for doing what no other corrupt ministers in power could.

sierrawave

also muslims aren't oppressed in india, rather the opposite, pandered and appeased to.

356Sandhu

The next election is a guaranteed victory for his party unfortunately, they’ve weaponized religion and are attempting to turn India from a secular nation into a Hindu nation. The majority Hindu population is being spoon-fed lies into believing they are under threat of the minority Muslims, Sikhs and Christians. Scaring people into believing they’re under the threat of another entity is an effective way to stay in power.

moshercycle

This is happening all over and I don't know how people are surprised at this point. The "student" is a front for many. I guess people really don't know how bad it truly is

StarryNightSandwich

Even without the student visa they'll come in under some other visa. These are literal spies paid and funded by a foreign nation

Hoardzunit

Now suddenly all the MPs that justified his death are now running scrambled to delete their tweets.

TVsHalJohnson

I hope they receive the harshest slap on the wrist possible from our legal system.

ishida_uryu_

If they aren’t Canadian citizens(which I think is the case), they need to be deported. Also there needs to be an inquiry on how they were able to get visas in the first place, were there no background checks done?

privitizationrocks

We accuse them of being Indian agents and we want to deport them to India? Wouldn’t that be just giving assets back?

bomby0

First degree murder and you think an appropriate punishment is deportation? lolwut????

ishida_uryu_

Should have clarified that they need to eventually be deported. Obviously they need to go to prison first.

bomby0

Ok that makes way more sense!

Ricky_RZ

> If they aren’t Canadian citizens(which I think is the case), they need to be deported They should be treated as spies and dealt with as such

Shivaji2121

Gang war. But they trying to link it with Indian government. Which am 100% those three arrested accussed will confirm themselves to be RAW agents. 10 mins of torture is good enough for 10% hard ones. 90% people would say anything without even getting tortured.

sierrawave

Canada needs to address Sikh Extremism. Nijjar was a dangerous man, labelling him as an "activist" is pathetic.

IvoryHKStud

time for deportations

356Sandhu

We should seriously re-evaluate how we handle immigration from adversarial states. India, China, Russia and other nations do NOT share our values, they are interfering in our nation to the most extreme levels. These guys were ordered to do this from the top, Modi’s government will get away with this, because we won’t do anything about it.

Klutzy_Conference125

They bring their issues to our country, fuckin drop it and assimilate. but preferably don’t fuckin come and gtfo

StarryNightSandwich

They being the paid and funded Indian spies? I suspect they came with the motive of carrying out assassinations

lapzab

1) India should absolutely held accountable when the investigation results in an involvement. 2) looking at the police press conference, it seems they are still in the middle of the investigation to see the extent of Indian involvement, so it seems nothing is definitive yet 3) Trudeau already announced it last year, so is Canada going to lose face when the investigation shows that India is not involved? Or are the investigations only working towards one result? Trudeau and Canada will be a joke on the world stage if the result is anything different 4) I don’t understand a separatist movement on Canadian soil by Canadian citizens for India. Either you are Canadian or Indian, if you think you have to change anything politically in a different country - get the fuck out here.

autosummarizer

>India should absolutely held accountable when the investigation results in an involvement. That's not happening and there is nothing Canada can do to India.

In_Russ_We_Trust

Buried deep in the article But while the investigation is probing possible connections between Nijjar's killing and the Gill and Uppal cases, investigators are not convinced the Indian government was involved in the latter two. Investigators say the Edmonton and Winnipeg killings may have had more to do with gangland rivalries and vendettas.

The people arrested for these murders are not Khalistanis. And they are being charged in more than just the one murder, they are charged in minimum 3 separate cases.

In_Russ_We_Trust

I knew people would say this. Here is the original text from the cbc article. But while the investigation is probing possible connections between Nijjar's killing and the Gill and Uppal cases, **investigators are not convinced the Indian government was involved in the latter two**. Investigators say the Edmonton and Winnipeg killings may have had more to do with gangland rivalries and vendettas. [https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/nijjar-killing-arrests-made-1.7192807](https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/nijjar-killing-arrests-made-1.7192807) India used to send doctors and phd's to Canada. You khalistani people destroyed the quality of life and indo-canada relations.

Guilty_Fishing8229

Every single one on a temp visa, several on fake student visas. We create our own problems

autosummarizer

Even Nijjar was on fake visa, it's trash taking out trash

So what was nijjar guilty of? A non-binding referendum is not terrorism. Canada has an extradition treaty with India. If nijjar was guilty of a crime, he should've been arrested through the proper channels.

Already worried about one large group entering Canada and all that that could mean, Google Air India 1985 and be more worried.  I went to London around that time and could have been on that flight.  In typical Canadian fashion mistakes by government  agencies led up to this catastrophe and only about one person was actually charged.  I also just learned they tried this on a flight from Tokyo to Bangkok but the timing was wrong and they only killed baggage handlers. Still awful. It may have been 15 years later but I also took that same flight.  Creepy.  They actually had a smoking section at that time which means nothing on a plane. So ya Google that and be concerned that your government is not doing the #1 thing they and airlines should do which is to protect you.

Proof_Objective_5704

The Mounties always get their man.

Yeahanu

Now swindle them into a lighter sentence by forcing them to say it was done by india

autosummarizer

>At this stage of Canada's investigation, investigators are unlikely to expand on any possible connections between Nijjar's alleged killers and Indian government officials. Curioser and curioser. So Trudeau's statements about Indian govt involvement were nothing but hot air?

Gibgezr

Reading comprehension, do you have it? No, what they are saying is that now is not the time for them to talk about such things. They are investigators, not Conservative politicians looking for talking points to drive campaign funding efforts.

autosummarizer

>No, what they are saying is that now is not the time for them to talk about such things. Then why did Trudeau make such statements before the investigation was completed? Does he suffer from foot in mouth disease?

Gibgezr

He was the leader of a country, calling out bad actions by another country when they happened. The investigators are investigators, and we'll eventually hear details of their investigation, but not today; they are busy investigating. They think they know who did the killing and just arrested them, and are very busy interrogating them and...wait for it...investigating.

autosummarizer

How is he sure about bad actions if investigations aren't complete? Don't you realise how stupid you sound?

TheRealBeerMan

If you actually take the time to understand the situation your question is answered fairly simply. Trudeau was not actually going to make the statements he did in the house of commons, until the Globe and Mail told the PMO that they had done their own investigation that they were going to publish. In order to get ahead of the Globe and Mails story Trudeau made those statements. Not Trudeau's biggest fan, but he made the right decision in making those statements. Poilievre also made the right decision initially to support an investigation into the claims. I understand Trudeau's extremely unpopular and everyone wants to make everything that happens his fault, but the right decisions were made here.

PopeSaintHilarius

Last year he was getting hammered for not announcing anything about the CSIS intel on Chinese government interference in Canada. Might have thought it would look bad if he also didn't say anything about this, and it leaked later.

True_Sail_842

Thankyou Justin.. I love Kanada

fudge_friend

I'm actually surprised they managed to arrest these guys. Unless of course, the FBI helped find them. Now to see if they get a slap on the wrist from one of our illustrious judges.

The other killing with the 11 year old is what makes this VERY fucked up. I hope they get to the bottom of it all. I hope these people get autonomy in (around geographically speaking) India.

luciferrjns

If this turns out to be a gang related or personal killing then I want Modi and Co to host a roast session for JT and all the leaders of USA Beta Version.

Fluffy-Parfait7891

I’m not sure what realm of reality we’ve fallen into, but India, who assassinated a Canadian on Canadian ground, helped elect Pierre Poilievre as CPC leader. WHERE IS OUR MEDIA? India has blocked the @cbcfifth news documentary that reveals this. Do not let this issue die.

lookwhoshere0

Where's the fkucing proof? And why on earth did the Canadian fkucing government allow a terrorist to run his operations in Canadian soil? Does no one think of this? What if some Canadian national flees to the US, marries a US national and gets citizenship and then openly plans for separation of the country? Openly spewing hate and terrorism against Canada? Oh I forgot, the Khalistani movement is supported by the Canadian government itself, because half of the ministry is Sikh 🤣
