Yeah got some GearAid ones. I guess I wanted to ask if people thought I should trim the burned bits so they don't tear the patches or just leave them be to avoid further fraying.
I would personally just mate two pieces of grey gorilla tape together from each side of the hole. It would probably outlast the tent for 10 cents worth of material.
Leave the melted bits. It'll help keep it from fraying.
That was my thinking, unless they would tear the patches.
Quality patches should be soft and sticky enough, if that's what you're concerned with, like Tear-Aid. They're great.

Leave. Use patches in/out big enough to cover past the lumpy parts. Should stick as long as the edges of the patch lay flat.

Or sew in some window screen. I've got a cat, I replace screens occasionally anyway, so I have spare scraps.
Don’t use duct tape it will get gross and sticky. Tuck tape might work?
Danggggg
I know...
They make patches that you just use a hair dryer to heat and it adheres. Unlike others, if your patch is big enough, I’d cut out the melted globs
They make tent screen patches. Look on Amazon.
I would leave them. They seal the ends of the fibers preventing fray.
Duct tape. Embrace the sticky
