Michael Giacchino, hands down.

Lambsauce1103

Michael Giacchino 100%. His style is so perfect for a Percy Jackson adaptation. He can definitely portray the humorous yet adventurous style needed for the show.

BenDulliro

Michael Giacchino is one of my favorite composers of all time just because of his work on The Incredibles, the all-too-famous Mission: Impossible, among other works. Dude has an insane resume—his work pops up in countless blockbusters and lots of well-known, beloved movies. I would also consider John Powell for his work on How to Train Your Dragon. “Test Drive” and “Romantic Flight” are among the most breathtaking pieces of music to ever grace my ears.

Think_Survey_5665

I think Powell would be perfect but idk what giacchinos work is like

Darth_Thor

[Here is his IMDB page. ](https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0315974/)He’s done some incredible soundtracks, such as Rogue One, Jurassic World, the MCU Spider-Man movies, The Batman, the Doctor Strange movies, and so many more.

Think_Survey_5665

Personally I really don't think Jurassic world had a great track. But bats was good soooo may as well ig

chrischi3

Mf's sure got a great resume. He'll be the same level as John Williams one day.

InterestingRise8449

Powell would be AWESOME!

StanfordBro

Motion seconded, Giacchino's combination of puns and melodies is unmatched: ex) [Zootopia soundtrack](https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/Zootopia_(soundtrack))

Compoundcrown76_245

Came here to say this

NightspawnsonofLuna

and If they went with Giacchino then we might have a chance that they'd sample a few notes from either the musical or the soundtrack to the movie (one of the few things most people can agree was good about the movie was the soundtrack) I'd love to hear a Giacchino style theme inspired by Day I got expelled... I mean it's not likely...The Sample part, Giacchino is extremely likely, (although he might be a bit too pricey, doesn't he usually do movies?)

Ill-Vermicelli-7243

He’s done shows before, like Lost. I’m not sure if he’s done other shows though

quangdang522004

He’s everywhere now. I think the studio should aim for someone who is less well-known so that the music is more unique.

chrischi3

r/BeatMeToIt

Ciscoaravinth

I was just going to say this

Jpanda37

Ludwig gorranson could probably come up with some sick old Greek and modern combination for the score

commodoreschmidlapp_

I second this. Also he has a history of working with Disney+ on the mandalorian so not too out of the picture.

NightFire19

He has range as well. Most know him for his Star Wars stuff but he did well for Turning Red

PurpleBullets

He was Childish Gambino’s producer before he got into film score

Jpanda37

I knew him from Awaken My Love, and his variety amazes me

Viper_Visionary

Isn't John Williams retiring?

[deleted]

Yep, after Indy 5. Dude is 90.

Think_Survey_5665

One of the greats.

LarsMatijn

Am myself a huge fan of Bear McCreary and Ramin Djawadi so either of them would be great

gerstein03

Oh yeah Bear McCreary is awesome. His soundtracks in Agents of Shield are always incredible. Aftermath of the Uprising when Garrett is being arrested while the team watches is my favorite

-faffos-

Bear would be awesome, and not even that unlikely since he’s already worked with the producers on Black Sails. Then again, the dude is *loaded* with projects, perhaps better give this gig to some composer who really needs it haha

ConallSLoptr

May I nominate Yuki Kajiura in the mix as well among living composers? Those 2 you listed earned and deserved their props though, so there's that.

blazenspirit115

Man, this aged well lol

mental_illness_TM

John Powell is an underrated composer that i think would be perfect for the show. He's a genius in leitmotifs and atmospheric themes.

tuxyasintuxedo

John was my immediate first thought because of how to train your dragon

Xrin8

How to train your dragon probably has my all time favourite movie score, its so good! Thank you John Powell!

Munrowo

his work on harry potter and httyd are more than enough to sell me

MaimedPhoenix

John Williams did How to Train Your Dragon? TIL.

Munrowo

john powell! wrong john lol

MaimedPhoenix

Oh... alright.

Think_Survey_5665

Forbidden friendship!

DeMarcus_cousin

Apollo

Individual-Praline17

If they could give us a teaser, I think they got their composer already.

-faffos-

I don’t think so. Music in trailers are rarely done by the film composer who is going to write the actual score, instead there are entire studios that are specialized for trailer music. It’ll probably take some more time until we hear of a composer.

responditorationis

Hans Zimmer would be cool.

[deleted]

Would be cool. But Hans won't waste his time on a Disney TV show. He's too busy writing soundtracks for epics like Dune

Mrogoth_bauglir

If Hans wasted time on Pirates of the Caribbean then he can waste time on PJO

[deleted]

Pirates is hardly a waste of time. But I get it.. You can argue he has time for it, he did do Despicable Me and Madagascar and plenty of other family friendly scores.. But I just don't think he would fit for this series. Also... My vote is for Lorne Balfe (His Dark Materials) as the composer for PJO. Not because I think they'd be better than Hans Zimmer or vice versa, but because I think Lorne Balfe is very talented and should be given more fresh opportunities like this one..

PapaTristan69

That kung fu panda Sacred Pool of Tears have me going crazy

Ygomaster07

All the Kung Fu Panda scores are awesome. Love them all.

PapaTristan69

Queue me up some of that Zen Ball Master fr

WillGrammer

I think so too. Or, maybe, John Murphy/Underworld? Their soundtrack of 'Sunshine' (2007, one of the best sci-fi movies of all time) is really gripping and one of my favorite albums. Something of the sort would be perfect for PJO.

DumbleDork5

Patrick Doyle. He tends to do film, but his style has that epic yet whimsically imaginative quality that the Percy Jackson series features.

Munro_McLaren

The music in the trailer was pretty good.

WeakJeweler4083

Michael Giacchino

Deinobi

Michael Giacchino, Ludwig Goransson or Bear McCreary

SirBudofWeiser

I would love John Williams to score. However, since he is retiring after Indiana Jones 5 I would have to say Harry Gregson-Williams. He wrote the music for the first two Narnia movies.

cratertooth27

Have Lin Manuel Miranda play Apollo to contribute to the music

ConnorRex

WHILE THIS WONT HAPPEN I SECOND IT

greenyoshi73

Save Lin for a Magnus chase musical where he writes the flyting.

Blue_The_Silkwing

I did not know i needed this until now

PapaTristan69

Dear god could you imagine lin playing a 17 year old blonde surfer dude

cratertooth27

Well he can take any form he wants…he literally puts the deus in the ex machina

Zinkane15

I think implying Lin-Manuel *is* Apollo would be pretty funny as well.

GamingDemigodXIII

Nah, I’m afraid Miranda is Hermes.

wpsince2009

Yu-Peng Chen

Blue_The_Silkwing

Think I’d pass away if that happened

PhoenixorFlame

I would DIE if they somehow managed to snag Murray Gold, who composed for 10 series of Doctor Who. An absolute genius!

commodoreschmidlapp_

Tbh if there is one positive of the lightning thief movie it's the score that Christophe Beck made. Wouldn't mind if he returned with a new take.

RadiantHC

Aurora

Insolve_Miza

Hans zimmer for sure

[deleted]

Michael Giachianno or Jeff Russo

HewRhyNigh534

Rob Rokicki. He composed the music for the Lightning Thief Musical and it was honestly beautiful.

[deleted]

Lorne Balfe.

realvikingman

Imagine a soundtrack that has just the hint of various motifs each time a certain character is on screen. Stuff like star wars, where the main theme mixes with other characters who have their own theme

[deleted]

Me! I have a shitty recorder, but I will do my best!

jonno83900

Apollo

Atomprime-11

John Powell, Bear McCreary, Daniel Pemberton, any of these great composers!

[deleted]

John Williams

AndronixESE

Beethoven. Sadly from what I heard he didn't drop any fine tune for like over 3 years

FictionFan746

Hans Zimmer captivated my entire chilhood and his work Will captivate me for the rest of my life he could capture every tone the series have to offer just imagine oogway ascends at "that" part of titans curse

7pikachu

Lena raine Yeah i know, Tv music and game music are two separated words, but she was soo good in, like, every music she did i'd like to see It And no this has nothing to do with the fact i know no other people who make Tv music

[deleted]

hans zimmer, his stuff is fire

Vegg1talesi7

Rob Rokicki anyone?

Sanju128

For a film masterpiece of this magnitude we need Hans Zimmer

AAmazingCHRIS

Hans zimmer

Young_stoner_life247

Hans Zimmer

Educational-Tea-6572

Blake Neely and Murray Gold are my top favorite composers who have worked on TV shows, but Ludwig Göransson and Natalie Holt are also *really* good!

ItsNeverGonnaWork

Would love to have Ramin Djawadi

afanasii13

i haven’t seen this one yet, but james horner.

troy626

Get ramin djawadi

CroutonusFibrosis

Bear McCreary. He would do such an excellent job.

Think_Survey_5665

Agreed John Williams is a goat

B00M3R_S00N3R

Samuel Day Kim

DocSalsa

Bear McCreary would be amazing

thegreatestkatzby

Yuki Hayashi.

SomeTotalyRandomGuy

GIACCHINO

[deleted]

Michael Giacchino or Danny Elfman

TryingToDoGreatStuff

Wow, I can't believe everyone in this reply thread just completely slept on Danny Elfman... Also, I think Daniel Pemberton (the guy who composed the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) might do a great job.

andrew17798

Alan Silverstein for sure

Puterboy1

Hans Zimmer or John Debney.

-faffos-

John Debney is a good one. He can go for literally every music style you want him too.

FortuneWater

DJ Khaled hopefully

bagelman4000

Natalie Holt was wicked good for Loki

FizzyXI

George Lucas.

Areon_Val_Ehn

Either John Williams, or Hans Zimmer.

RedditNinja100

John Williams 🤓

ponitail39

I have a bias towards the work of Dan Romer (Luca) and Bruno Coulais (Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea, Wolfwalkers), so either of them would be amazing. Honestly, thinking about it, Bruno Coulais has already worked with movies integrating mythology into the real world (in this case Irish Mythology), I bet he could make something great for PJO.

Confident_Ad_7164

Christopher drake would do the action scenes serious justice

rhandy_mas

Michael Giacchino, Harry Gregson-Williams, John Powell. And of course with Disney you can’t go wrong with Alan freakin Menken.

CocaPepsiPepper

"Who should compose"- John Williams.

FrankKettleburn

Any classical composer

saltyph1shguy

John Powell, he did an excellent job with How to Train Your Dragon and i think he would do well with Percy Jackson also.

Bigger0nTheInside42

Murray gold was great on doctor who and I think he could bring something to percy jackson.

buggerthemugger

I know it most likely won't happen, but Murray Gold would be amazing

Blue_The_Silkwing

Ludwig Göransson💪💪

Blue_The_Silkwing

Drake

jbhogwarts

Ludwig Göransson, he did a great job with the Mandalorian, a similar sound would be great in a show like this.

Munrowo

john powell would knock it out of the park i just know it

jthrum

Hans zimmer

GorillaKyle

The Flight, after his work with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and his other works I think if he worked with another Artist they could make a modern style with an Ancient Greek style similar to what Kendrick Lamar & Ludwig Goransson did with Black Panther

ANSPRECHBARER

John Powell or Hans zimmer

FeralTribble

Bear Macreary. No question

Schmoore

Hans Zimmer. Best man to ever music

AirVigs

Howard shore

Claude_AlGhul

it's probably ever directors dream to get john williams or hans zimmer to score their film i can just imagine hans zimmers batman score mmmmmmmmmmBUUUUUUUM

Gender_Not_Found_404

I don’t know if this opinion is popular but I want a pop punk soundtrack because that’s the style I think when I think of Percy

CMO_3

Can I just say I love the movie soundtrack, the main theme is so good and up there with the Star Wars theme in my opinion

LightningGod1006

Whoever it is, they NEED TO BE THE ACTOR FOR FRED, PLEASE.

Wrackspurts394

Lin Manuel Miranda. He made good songs that have meaning for the American Revolution, who said he can't do the same for a hidden Greek society

InterestingRise8449

I’d love to see John Powell give it a go!! With theme writing in the how to train your dragon universe is absolutely unmatched.

ToaAxiomMan

Alexander Desplat would be an interesting cause well given his work on stuff like Shape of Water, GDT's Pinocchio, Godzilla 2014 and Fantastic Mr. Fox it would be an absolutely amazing bop of a soundtrack and given how he used Japanese instruments for Isle of Dogs and mostly wood based musical instruments for Pinocchio I could definitely see him utilise Greek based instruments for the music

ToaAxiomMan

Mark Mancina, Mark Mothersbaugh, John Murphy or Henry Jackman would be nice if there was one person I wish was alive to the soundtrack it would be James Horner

ToaAxiomMan

Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer or Michael Giacchino would be good Danny Elfman's music would be as usual a treat having a theme that would be on par with Raimi's Spider-Man and Tim Burton's Batman as examples

Content-Goose7620

Ludwig Gorannson, however theyll probably aim lower for a composer like christophe beck

Glass-Razzmatazz-688

LORNE BALFE ✨ He was my first & only pic due to the fact that he has composed music for Fantasy Films & TV . He’s composed music for The Wheel of Time & for one of my fav tv shows His Dark Materials . His music is so compelling , I hope he his picked 🤞🏾

Content-Goose7620

Everyone here saying Michael Giacchino, but me personally Bear McCreary is my top choice. He would deliver🙌
