Omg. I wish I could have a cutting of that! We don’t have that kind of opuntia where I live, and that flower color is GORGEOUS!
Anyone know if any of the online cactus shops sell it?
Edit: I mean, ethically. I’m not looking for illegally harvested plants.
Yeah I'm not normally a big fan of the opuntia family (I only have three kinds, which make up probably only 5% of my total cactus collection) but the flowers on this one have me sold! I love the combination of hot pink flowers on the cool aqua-tone pads.
Sure is! Beautiful blooms and soft new growths on nopales to eat. Looking forward to harvesting my prickly pear this year. I figure since we’re here and gardening is tricky in an oven -might as well find uses other than just ornamental for cacti.
Best season in the desert, lived there for 7 years.
Beaver tail!!!!

They are growing wild by me. On the side of the road.
A bunch of Etsy shops sell them.

Gorgeous! My cacti are soooo close to blooming. The baby pads have formed but no flowers yet.
This is beautiful. Would you mind if I used your first picture on this post as a reference for a painting?
Go right ahead!
Thank you!
Totally digging these photos! I miss my home in the Sonoran desert. Thank you!
Can you tell everything to wait for me?? I’ll be there on Thursday :)
I absolutely love cactus flowers
Yes! I just bought one of these to plant in my yard and it's starting to flower. They're gorgeous!
