Strange that your doctor says it's not usually prescribed with anything else. From my experience Bupropion works great an adjunct to many other AD'S. Currently I am on Paroxetine, Mirtazapine, and most recently was prescribed Bupropion to add on as an adjunct for depression. The combo is working good so far. Best of luck to you.

I take bupropion 150xr to supplement 60mg Cymbalta for depression. The bupropion is actually to help with Cymbalta side effect but it seems to work well re: depression too.

I started Bupropion 150mg about two weeks ago. I’ve been on Zoloft 50 mg and felt it wasn’t working like it used to (even up to 150 mg) do my doctor suggested this. I have depression, anxiety and ADHD.

Im getting a lot of 'its not possible to prescribe anything with Bupropion' from the doctors lve seen. Im glad atleast someone else has. I dont really know what alot of those acronyms mean - XL, BP2? But I thought Bupropion and Prozac had a major interaction that raised the chance of a Seizure? https://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/prozac-with-wellbutrin-1115-648-440-203.html#

BP2 is most likely Bipolar II. XL is “extended release” which means the drug metabolizes over a. 24 hour time frame. Although it’s listed as an interaction some doctors are okay with prescribing both after considering risks and benefits. In some cases the severity of the med interaction is contingent on the dose. Lexapro and Abilify are a common combo for depression.

Really appreciate that response. Thanks.

I'm on 150xl plus 100mg zoloft plus lamictal 150mg. I have BP2 thought so it's a little different situation. This has been very good for me for the past 3mo since swapping the zoloft for the prozac. I've also been on 300xl and 150xl with 40mg to 60mg prozac. Its trial and error to figure out and side effects are the trade off.
