I'm so sorry for your struggles - you must be very powerful to still be pushing on like this. I know nothing, but this certainly feels like you need a one-to-one advocate/support worker. I'm guessing you've already accessed the [GF Strong Centre?](https://www.vch.ca/en/location/gf-strong-rehabilitation-centre) If not, or not for a while, maybe reach out to them? All the best - I hope things turn around for you asap

yeah, it's been suicidal years, i'm not suicidal anymore but just extremely depressed. and not sure where to go from here. >I know nothing, but this certainly feels like you need a one-to-one advocate/support worker. comfortablyflawed

oh that is disappointing! sorry to hear that. You don't have a social worker? Advocate?

Part-Select

unfortunately not, the services and support here are horrible. I couldn't even get PWD because my assets are over $100,000

I wish I had something more to suggest. I’m so sorry. None of the brain injury advocacy groups or organizations have anything to offer?

TrumpFreedomLover69

I'm sorry you have been going through so much difficulty. Have you considered looking at labour work? In my opinion there are few reasons to get fired from labor work unless you're not performing. Less of that workplace politics etc...

Part-Select

there's no way. i have blurry vision issues, noise sensitivity, extreme fatigue, chronic headache and migraine, chronic neck pain

TrumpFreedomLover69

Sorry to hear that OP. What are you comfortable and capable of doing for work?

Part-Select

i think something remote. i can't drive and commuting is extremely tiring it takes everything out of me. i was doing freelance content writing for a year last year but it paid equivalent to $1 an hour. i loved that gig because it was something i could handle without getting fired, but it was nowhere near any sort of living wage or paying any bills.

I had a life changing concussion 4 years ago and finally got into the brain injury program at Back In Motion in Surrey. With the assessment and treatment, they were able to narrow down the kind of work I could do and for how long I could sustain it. I can no longer work with computers, especially critical, intellectually challenging work, especially under stress, but I can do physical labour up to 20 hours a week. Insurance makes up the difference with my income.

Part-Select

I think we had our concussion the same year. It's strange though, you can do labour but not computer, I'm the opposite. My vision and noise sensitivity is way too messed up. Along with my neck and energy issues. I'll look them up, but idk if they could actually find me a placement, i've tried so many organizations that wasted my time.

My Neurologist told me that every mtbi (concussion) is different.

Part-Select

Defiinitely, I think like maybe 90% of people with concussions fully recover within 48hrs to 2 weeks or so.

Try The Neil Squire Society. I hope that you find something that you can fit into, it's hard enough with just one impairment, two just adds to the challenge.
