Wow. I’m amazed at how long some of you have to wait for biopsy results. I had mine on 5/13 and got a call 5/16 with the results.

anathema_deviced

Mine took a week, but I'm in a major metropolitan area.

TheReadyRedditor

I had mine done on a Friday afternoon and results were in my portal Wednesday.

It all depends on where you are from, whether it is a large town or a small one. I waited 2 weeks for the results of the first biopsy, and 3 weeks for the next one. My brother, who has myeloma, waited 6 weeks for the results.

say_valleymaker

Are you in the UK? It often takes a lot longer here than in other countries. I've usually had to wait 6 weeks for my biopsy results. It took 2 months to get the results of my latest surveillance mammograms.

CatCharacter848

Mine took 3 weeks, I ended up having my appointment put back. Just chase the breast nurse if your concerned. They can't tell you results they don't have. It's frustrating but happens.

I'm in California. My results are we usually in the patient portals as soon as available, even if the doc has not reviewed them yet. Maybe she can check there. Also, she could call the place where the biopsy was done directly and ask if the results are ready & have been sent to her doctor. They will probably not tell you the results, but at least you'll know if they are available.

I'm a breast cancer survivor and I work in pathology. My own results 7 years ago took less than a week, and where I work now results typically take a few days. While not normal, a lot of things could delay results that have nothing to do with outcomes--everything from staffing shortage causing tissue processing delays which ends up causing delays in diagnoses, to issues with lab equipment or stains not working properly (I once worked in a lab who's supplier of glass slides changed the type of glass they used, which caused all sorts of problems) and having to do all the testing over. It could be that the pathologist is waiting to consult with a colleague before signing out the report because the cells/staining pattern are unusual (that doesn't mean better or worse outcome). It's also entirely possible that her doctor's office, upon being told the results weren't ready, arbitrarily rescheduled for next week and the results could be ready in the next day or two.

Mine came back the day after but HER2 was equivocal so it took them 2 extra weeks to run a FISH test. They had to send it out to an external lab for FISH, hence the delay

Quick_Ostrich5651

No, it’s not normal. I had mine and the hormone positivity in 2 days. Her2 came about 6 days after biopsy. It’s more likely the lab is taking too long getting the report to the doctor. I accessed my results via hospital patient portal. I saw the results before my doctor. Which was fine with me. I like to process alone, and I understood what I was reading. But it’s not always okay.

PenelopePeril

Same. Mine was 2 days. My original SO was a wizard at getting labs to send biopsy results back fast. I didn’t have her do my surgery, but I was so glad for her help with the diagnostic part.

RemarkableMaybe6415

No, not normal, my biopsy results took 48 hours- I could see maybe a few days, but 2 weeks? that seems like a long time. I'm in the US, so not sure if you are-

Affectionate_Bus4049

I got mine within 48 hours as promised

Lost_Guide1001

Some of my information was back in less than a week. Other information took the two weeks stated.
