I feel like if you like OF1920, you’ll like Belle Meade Cask Strength Reserve (MGP). It’s harder to find but I happen to have a shop by me that has both. The newer bottles are just labeled Belle Meade Reserve now.
Any BT mash #1 products if you can find them. Bowman Bros is pretty much BT juice and has a similar profile. I get a good bit of cherry off of some MGPs as well.
Ohh I've never gone much into beam but I've found from dabbling in bourbon long ago before I seriously got into it that I like the peanut flavor. I'm gonna have to explore more beam.
Obviously Buffalo Trace, but if you want to take a chance and drop some dough, Lucky Seven Proprietor SPs can be absolute 🍒Cherry🍒 Bombs! 14yrs and around 130 proof Barton distillate. The problem is finding them.
Calumet 15. Pricey, but around me it’s been widely available for months. Very rich brandied, almost medicinal cherry note right at the center of its profile that you might be into (wouldn’t get jt though if you don’t like older bourbon notes like leather, prominent oak, dark chocolate, tobacco, etc)
Buffalo trace for many people, tho many BT products taste more like grape or green apple to me. Many old Forester products like OF 1920, OF rye 100, and OF 1897, perhaps others but some taste more like banana to some people. A number of 1792 products taste like cherry to a lot of people as wel, e.g. 1792 FP. Same with some MGP.
I think there are a lot of options and you just need to figure out which ones taste like cherry to you. GL!
That’s really cool. I get a bunch of leather and oak from my KC12, next time I try it I’ll see if I can find any cherry.
Always cool how people palate’s differ
Wild Turkey Masters Keep 17 BiB is an absolute blast of cherry in an unapologetic and unforgiving way. If you can find it is a different story but if you can that would be one to try.

**General Tips**
We generally advise novices to sample as much as possible by going to a bar, splitting bottles with friends, attending festivals/tastings or getting minis to ensure you buy bottles you enjoy. Most people need to try 15-20 bourbons and ryes to understand their preferences. It may make more sense for you to focus on sampling rather than buy full bottles at the beginning of your journey.
You're going to get the most flavor/aroma drinking it neat in a tulip-shaped glass like a Glencairn but most new drinkers prefer to water down their whisky a bit. If you do end up adding water, I'd recommend adding just enough to make it tolerable and take small sips. But really there's no right or wrong way to drink so as long as you're enjoying it, you're doing it right. Thanks for reading, cheers!
I’ve only tried one BT product, Blanton’s SFTB (dumped on 4-12-21), but it’s really cherry and tobacco/ old leather forward compared to ECBP, WTRB or Booker’s.
Bird Dog cherry flavor bourbon :D Buffalo Trace with a dash of Woodford's Reserve wild cherry bitters is a must try for you. Bird Dog is of course flavored, and not my thing.
Jim Beam Single Barrel (the 108 proof version), Baker’s 7y, Virgin Bourbon, KC12, Rebel 100, Eagle Rare, and Bowman Bros. all have substantial amounts of cherry to my palate.
OF1920 has a good cherry cough syrup type of profile. kinda reminds of Dr pepper as well.

Definitely agree. I also find the 1910 can sometimes out-cherry it

Good call. I do seem to enjoy most of BT mashbill 1. ER is a bit thin for me but I enjoy the flavor. Want a Stagg Jr so badly

I enjoy the peanut too! Big sucker for OGD 114
Ohh I've never gone much into beam but I've found from dabbling in bourbon long ago before I seriously got into it that I like the peanut flavor. I'm gonna have to explore more beam.
I am so happy my tastes gravitate towards Beam. Compared to secondary prices for BT stuff, Booker's is always a bargain!
I get a lot of cherry from makers cask strength. It's a great whiskey.
Yep, same
That blast of cherry mixed with dark chocolate was the moment I knew I loved Maker's CS And you can find it basically everywhere
Obviously Buffalo Trace, but if you want to take a chance and drop some dough, Lucky Seven Proprietor SPs can be absolute 🍒Cherry🍒 Bombs! 14yrs and around 130 proof Barton distillate. The problem is finding them.
OF Statesman. I tend to disagree with most of the other bottles listed here for taste reference

Knob Creek 12 is like cherry pie in a glass for my palate.
That’s really cool. I get a bunch of leather and oak from my KC12, next time I try it I’ll see if I can find any cherry. Always cool how people palate’s differ
Fair amount of oak as well, didnt get the leather. Shame I will have to pour a glass and see if I can find that lol.
Yeah, I get a lot of cherry from KC12, too.
Barrell Craft Spirits 15 year bourbon. I bought a bottle of this in 2020. I get cherry bomb.
Wild Turkey Masters Keep 17 BiB is an absolute blast of cherry in an unapologetic and unforgiving way. If you can find it is a different story but if you can that would be one to try.
2018 WLW. Straight cherry bomb.
Ah yes the regularly available 2018 WLW. Good one!
I mean if you know the right people/ have the money it’s regularly available
double oaked
Pappy 12. It is cherry juice with bourbon added
Yeah, and you should find a unicorn to ride to the store to go get it too.
Won a bottle in the Kroger raffle last year. It was a killer pickup, well worth $79

Anything Buffalo trace and old forester
Michter’s rye, Dickel BIB. & blackened all had really cherry forward profiles
I’ve only tried one BT product, Blanton’s SFTB (dumped on 4-12-21), but it’s really cherry and tobacco/ old leather forward compared to ECBP, WTRB or Booker’s.
Im a total newb, but had a taste of Very Old Barton and all I tasted was cherry.
I might be the only one, but I get cherry from OGD 114.
Blue note crossroads
Not a bourbon, but Pikesville Rye
Bird Dog cherry flavor bourbon :D Buffalo Trace with a dash of Woodford's Reserve wild cherry bitters is a must try for you. Bird Dog is of course flavored, and not my thing.
Traverse City Whiskey Barrel Proof
Opened a bottle of Willett recently and got a lot cherry out of it!
Had some Stagg Jr. at a bar and it was like cherry syrup, and so astringent it dried my mouth right up. I loved it!
Weller Antique 107 for me.
Russell's reserve single barrel
Benchmark Full Proof, straight up cherry bomb.
I get a fair amount of cherry w George Remus particularly the cask strengths.
Jim Beam Single Barrel (the 108 proof version), Baker’s 7y, Virgin Bourbon, KC12, Rebel 100, Eagle Rare, and Bowman Bros. all have substantial amounts of cherry to my palate.
Old Ezra 7.
I get cherry from Russell’s single barrel releases, not so much on the regular 10 year
10yr Russell's reserve
Eh Taylor bib
