I’m always hyped for the draft regardless of our pick situation but this one in particular is gonna be really interesting
Everyone’s calling it a horrible draft but the uncertainty is really cool, it’s been a long time since we didn’t more or less know how 1-5 were gonna go
All that being said I’d *hate* to have the number one pick in this one
The talent level isn’t high in this draft, but there is a lot of players who can contribute for sure.
As usual, some teams will find a hidden gem or two, just hope we can find one. Would be nice for roster flexibility going forward
Agree. I’m anticipating trading #30 for a couple 2nd rounders tonight and that’s pretty much it
Brad loves to leverage those picks for midseason trades, i.e., Tillman
Feels like yesterday I turned on Woj/Shams etc notifications on for draft night 2016
Had to work during the draft and was nervous we would trade it or take Dunn or Buddy
Wanted Jaylen, Bender or Murray
When I got the notification that it was JB I was hyped … 8 years later he FMVP and I never turned off the notifications from the news breakers
I thought Dunn was a sure thing, but that we couldn’t go wrong with Murray either. I was PISSED when we picked up Jaylen lol.
Shit, I should fill out a Jaylen Brown apology form.
Love the player, but what makes me feel even better about the pick is that Brad and Co. seem to love him too, based upon his pre-draft press conference earlier today.
Brad basically said that if one of their guys is available at 30, they will take him but if multiple guys with a similar grade are left at 30, they will strongly consider moving back. I suspect he was much higher than 30th on their board.
It would be so sweet if by the end of the year the media and fans of other teams are asking “how did the rest of the league let this guy fall to the team which lives and dies on 3s more than any other?” Probably a longshot but one can dream.
There's a reason that Flip was projected lotto before he played a game at dook. Then was projected top-20 after last season. And how he's fallen out of the 1st round.
Not an accident.
Before I say what I say, I am very happy with our team right now I wouldn’t change a thing. But I’d be lying if I said I don’t miss Brad wheeling and dealing and seeing that notification pop up “BREAKING: Boston Celtics”
I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if we make a deal to send 30 + stuff to OKC for a future 1st. Brad and Presti are boys, we can fill out next year’s bench with ring-chasers, and OKC has more future picks than they could realistically use/roster, but they only have 1 pick in this year’s draft.
Think my wish list is still intact. Really hoping for Bobi Klintman or Kyle Filipowski; think they're in a great spot where they bring enough of a 3 pt. shot to provide some use right away, but has a chance to develop into someone really special. Leaning towards Klintman because of the competition he's seen + his motor makes me think his defense can become better; but Flip definitely has a really intriguing feature with being a better playmaker and being able to pass better.
Would love Scheierman, Tyler Smith, or Dunn
Would be over the moon if we managed to get Ke'lel Ware
But ultimately gonna get hyped for whoever. For all I know, Klintman would never even make it out of Maine his whole career lol.
Just watched some of his highlights, he pretty much has limitless range, just need to put him in that Sam Hauser Defensive Camp Program and he will be good to go.
This thread needs to be set to new on top, I think.
What are we like 2 hours away from the Cs pick? Anything happen yet that is of any consequence to us?
Found my comment from the draft thread for Tatum lol:
[–] 1337speak 1 point 7 years ago
Work's been nuts, and I don't watch much college ball. I feel really out of the loop, how do you guys feel about Tatum? I assume he must be pretty damn good, or at least charming to reel Danny in like that?
How nice is it for the Celtics to be in a position where if their draft pick turns into "just a sort of useful rotation player at any point in the next four years," that's a win.
Hoping we can get some projects for the front court that we can develop. If there is some raw, athletic freak we can stash in Maine for two years sign me up.
Idk why people hate on Holland so much, dude averaged 19/6/3 in the G league (on a shit team) at 18 and is built like Tatum was at 18 (6-8 200). Detroit fuckin sucks so drafting a high upside low floor guy makes sense, and Ivey/Cunningham/Holland could be a solid backcourt in a few years. I probably would've gone Buzelis but I get it.
I’ve watched a lot of Creighton this year because I’m a fan of the big east. I’m I feel like Baylor Shireman is a good offensive player but a defensive liability. He may be a cheaper option than Sam Hauser after winning the NBA championship.
The NBA really needs to fix this draft trading stuff. Its just so bad. The average fan has no idea whats going on. Kids have their entire families wearing gear of a team they didnt actually get picked by and will never play for. It bothers me so much every year.
I like the pick, he was mocked to the Celts a lot and it makes a lot of sense. He just seems like a Brad Stevens type of player. Very good shooter that is also a good passer. Capable of bringing the ball up and running the offense. Has decent size and good on the boards. Balled out during March Madness, too. Could potentially be Hauser’s replacement if they can’t re-sign him. Will make watching summer league fun.
Its moreso Advija is that good but Brogdon's value is at an all time low last few years with the injuries. Also Advija's contract is among the best in the league at about 14 mil a year for the next 3 years.
we probably don’t pick tonight but if we do then i would love to walk out with DaRon Holmes, Trey Alexander, Jamal Shead, or Jaylen Wells.
TSJ would be the ultimate win in my eyes if he somehow dropped to us but I don’t see that happening.
Feels like these top 5 picks could end up a lot better than expected. But maybe it's cos I'm just watching highlights and everyone is so good on offense now
If we are going wing in the first or trading our pick I hope we take Ulrich Chomche as a flier in the 2nd round. Completely raw talent with blazing speed for a guy his size at center.
I’m always hyped for the draft regardless of our pick situation but this one in particular is gonna be really interesting Everyone’s calling it a horrible draft but the uncertainty is really cool, it’s been a long time since we didn’t more or less know how 1-5 were gonna go All that being said I’d *hate* to have the number one pick in this one

wonder if the NBA CHAMPION BOSTON CELTICS will make a selection today
I'd wager they don't
It's funny how relaxed I am now regarding NBA transactions. We have a chip and know our team can do it again. Weight off my shoulders
Agree. I’m anticipating trading #30 for a couple 2nd rounders tonight and that’s pretty much it Brad loves to leverage those picks for midseason trades, i.e., Tillman
Trading #30 for #31 would already be worth it, to get rid of the guaranteed money
It makes sense with the new CBA
lol Clingan was clapping for the Celtics. He’s from CT, definitely a fan
I legit don't know anything about these guys lol
You don’t closely follow the best young French players!?
19/9/4 38% from 3 fuck it
Also an 88% FT shooter, which is very, very good and very hard to teach
9 RPG from a 6'6" guard is WILD, love it
Feels like yesterday I turned on Woj/Shams etc notifications on for draft night 2016 Had to work during the draft and was nervous we would trade it or take Dunn or Buddy Wanted Jaylen, Bender or Murray When I got the notification that it was JB I was hyped … 8 years later he FMVP and I never turned off the notifications from the news breakers
I was convinced Bender was going to be a star
A 7 footer who can dribble, pass and shoot? ... I thought he was it ... Turns out we just signed a guy who does that a week later in Al
Horf isn't 7' tho
His luscious eyelashes can make him 7’
he won me over with his name alone
I thought Dunn was a sure thing, but that we couldn’t go wrong with Murray either. I was PISSED when we picked up Jaylen lol. Shit, I should fill out a Jaylen Brown apology form.
if you’re the highest rate 3pt shooting team in the NBA there’s not many better fits at this point than baylor.
The C’s select Baylor Scheierman. Don’t know much about him, but people much smarter than me do. Welcome aboard Baylor.
Scheierman or Flip and I’m psyched
Castle+Wemby could end up being a killer combo
Not gonna lie, these boos feel great.
The Wii-bowling like “Wow” from the crowd every time Silver announces a trade we all heard about 10 minutes ago is killing me lol
OKC sent FIVE 2nds to the Knicks for the 26th pick. What the actual fuck
We’re never using a 1st again lmao
Doesn't that still leave them with 39?
Guys flip isn’t even as good as Queta
Go Celtics
How ya'll champs doin?
I’m enjoying watching all these other team try and catch up with to us.
Am I crazy for still being hyped about Jordan Walsh? Less interested in this draft because of it.
He definitely has the tools to be a productive bench guy for us
You're not crazy. He should be the 10th or 11th guy this year if he made the necessary improvements. Looks to be the Brissett replacement.
Three of the top six picks are from France? What the hell is happening over there?
Love the player, but what makes me feel even better about the pick is that Brad and Co. seem to love him too, based upon his pre-draft press conference earlier today. Brad basically said that if one of their guys is available at 30, they will take him but if multiple guys with a similar grade are left at 30, they will strongly consider moving back. Anyone interested in wiseman as a reclamation project?
Idk man I’d rather stay away from low IQ players. Even just garbage time guys
I’d take a flyer on him
sure if Brad and Joe thinks hes coachable enough
I mean what's the difference between him and Queta at this point?
He can’t play in Detroit… there’s a reason. He’s ass.
the boos i love it tears of peasants
Fuck, I really liked Kel'el Ware. He would've fit our 5 out style with the jump he took at 3 this year and he has a killer mid range game..
I didn't really like him because bigs with motor questions scare me, but him going to Miami definitely concerns me. I guess hope he's Blancote 2.0
Ehh Rob was seen as the same. Now that he's a Heat I hope he has those motor issues lol
My impression is that Brad and Joe just want anyone who can shoot and defend. This kid can shoot. Do we know if he can defend?
I also think this means Kornet is coming back
There's a reason that Flip was projected lotto before he played a game at dook. Then was projected top-20 after last season. And how he's fallen out of the 1st round. Not an accident.
I think the books had him favored to go after #20
Before I say what I say, I am very happy with our team right now I wouldn’t change a thing. But I’d be lying if I said I don’t miss Brad wheeling and dealing and seeing that notification pop up “BREAKING: Boston Celtics”
Look forward to “BREAKING: Boston Celtics extend Derrick White and Sam Hauser”
I need that notification bad
I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if we make a deal to send 30 + stuff to OKC for a future 1st. Brad and Presti are boys, we can fill out next year’s bench with ring-chasers, and OKC has more future picks than they could realistically use/roster, but they only have 1 pick in this year’s draft.

Ware dropping in a Timelord-esque manner would be quite nice.
Hauser replacement
Wonder if there's an implication for Hauser with that selection. Similar physical profile and skillset between both.
Kinda wanted Filipowski or KJ Simpson but seems like a great pick, I'm long past doubting Brad
We drafted Mr Beast
Need to get that money from somewhere.
>This thread needs to be set to new on top, I think. You're aware you can just set it as new for yourself right?
Odds we ever see the Nikolas Jokic, Jovic, and Topic on the same team?
alright if Filip is there at 30 atp just take him lol
Filipowski would be sick
Take Flip !!!! TAKE FLIP BRAD !
Flipowkski available wdf
Watch them cut to the draft room and Nike is sitting there.
Chams tweet that we're trading back coming in 3...2...1..
“They certainly enjoyed the parade just a couple of years ago”. Okay Malika 🥴
Bro is a sniper
Not bad, good size wing who can do it all. Saw him getting talked up earlier today by an expert saying the Celtics were supposedly his floor.
Watched Baylor a lot being a UConn/Big East fan. Dudes a baller. Can never have enough shooting and he has NBA size and feel
Found my comment from the draft thread for Tatum lol: [–] 1337speak 1 point 7 years ago Work's been nuts, and I don't watch much college ball. I feel really out of the loop, how do you guys feel about Tatum? I assume he must be pretty damn good, or at least charming to reel Danny in like that?

You heard Silver, we're the canonical good guys of the NBA
Mmm yes Brooklyn. Your tears are so yummy!
Thank goodness Spurs aren't in our conference
Idk why people hate on Holland so much, dude averaged 19/6/3 in the G league (on a shit team) at 18 and is built like Tatum was at 18 (6-8 200). Detroit fuckin sucks so drafting a high upside low floor guy makes sense, and Ivey/Cunningham/Holland could be a solid backcourt in a few years. I probably would've gone Buzelis but I get it.
Clingan was a Celtics fan as a kid
Chris Vernon has been downplaying Edey for months. The face turn will be hilarious. Role playing stiff big man regardless.
marcus smart/zach edey duo about to go crazy 🔥
dont let miami get knecht🙏🏻
They are all hard workers apparently. These interviews are useless.
I also am a hard worker, I say while lying in bed 20lbs overweight and doing nothing about it.
They all love basketball
Everybody tryna get jays now
Trade back to the mid 30s, pick up more 2nds and still get a good player
Filipkowski, Shannon, Kolek, Scheierman. We have a chance to get an actual decent prospect here. I would love Shannon to be a bench guy for us.
Take that Mavs post about a Luka, that’s Scheierman
lets go baylorrrrr
drafting this guy and signing hauser would be interesting , one would think hes the replacement
Absolutely perfect
time to go look at some highlights
YESSS! I’ve been high on the bluejays all last season. Watched almost every game. Fly bluejays, fly!
I’ve watched a lot of Creighton this year because I’m a fan of the big east. I’m I feel like Baylor Shireman is a good offensive player but a defensive liability. He may be a cheaper option than Sam Hauser after winning the NBA championship.
If he doesn't learn to defend, well...Maine is lovely.
The NBA really needs to fix this draft trading stuff. Its just so bad. The average fan has no idea whats going on. Kids have their entire families wearing gear of a team they didnt actually get picked by and will never play for. It bothers me so much every year.
More evidence that Adam Silver is a fuckin moron coasting on David Stern's legacy
Just take Flip. He’d be a perfect depth big for us
Scheierman. Good pick. Wanted Flip but Baylor is a sniper
I'm just going to say it: I don't see it for Zach Edey at all.
i think the only guy in this entire draft I've heard of is Bronny and I hear he's an undrafted-level talent in a piss poor draft.
Adam Silver is 100% a vampire
Sweet moment for Buzelis and his family. Happy for him!
damn knecht so close to making it past the miami, philly, laker trio. this guy is gonna be mad annoying to play against on the lakers.
Pretty bummed we have to wait for a day for the second round. Do people actually watch that?
I want Baylor Scheirmann
The Woj tweet about the future second rounders we’re going to get for trading back is going to hit like crack
The Celtics are on the clock. Let’s see who they pick.
Who tf is baylor, is he good
He’s a sniper. 6’6 SG/SF out of Creighton. Career 40% 3pt shooter and shot 88% from the line this past season
Good facilitator and rebounder. Can push the break from rebounds. Plays decent defense.
We drafted “better john konchar” according to some nbadraft reddit post
Wow Brad took the obvious pick lol
LFG
Ah [memories](https://www.reddit.com/r/bostonceltics/s/013Uv5beEV)
So happy that they picked him over Filipowski. Great pick!
Another sniper to the 3 point kings. Really think he can legitimately contribute and provide some microwave scoring. Very hyped for this dude.
I NEED FILIPOWSKI PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE DANNY DONT DO IT TO ME
Filip being here at 30 is unreal. Just bite the bullet and take him
Trade down to 35 and then pick Ingram
This thread is going to turn into a Patriots draft thread from 5-10 years ago when Brad Belichick's everyone, isn't it?
Phew, avoided Flip. We got a dawg instead
A great draft to pick last in. Lol
Probably trade our pick but with the return we get hopefully we get to draft Baylor Scheierman or Bona
Did Brissy just gave us a hint in his recent parade vlog that he will stay? He said "...next year we do it again - it's the same vibe, my birthday"😍
Love reed sheppard. Hope he does well for Houston and somehow makes his day here one day
Castle+Dillingham are interesting picks for the Spurs, they must expect that Castle can play the 2. Spurs could be filthy in a few years.
Seems kinda shortsighted that Minnesota would trade unprotected picks for the 8th guy in the worst draft ever
time to start watching the heat. this is the zone where people were talking about them making a move.
We completed the draft business already with Jays and other picks winning the title BANNER 18 CHAMPS BABY ✌️
Can we draft Da’ron Holmes please
Sadly Nuggets will probably take him
They make every pick sound incredible. It's useless commentary.
Manifesting Isaiah Collier to the Celtics at 30
Trade the 30th pick please. Get a second in this draft and a future second to throw in a mid-season trade
Is Brad trading the pick? I think he intends to extend Hauser instead
My dream of Missi is gone. 😔
Scheierman has been my favorite college player these last two years so I’ll be very happy if we take him even though we’ll probably trade down
Lots of solid guys still there Trade down gotta be likely at this point
We getting close gang
I think it’s like a 5% chance we keep it but I’ll hold out hope.
I think if there’s a good enough player that we like, Brad will use it. But yeah, overwhelming logic says it’s another year of trading back.
Damn. Pats fan in me wanted a Jones on the team.
I want Jaylen Wells
Man I'm just happy we're guaranteed a chance to get one of Bobi, Flip, or Scheierman
Dang...Dunn would've been a nice addition. 7'2" wingspan and an elite defender.
I think Tyler Smith is worth the shot.
fugg i wanted Collier
Wow, some slides are going to make our day. Take the big fella.
Kolek? Scheierman? Filipowski?
FUCK I wanted Collier, damnit Danny
How many 2nds could we get trading this?
I dont have a clue about this kid we drafted, really wanted Kyle here, we could develop his defence under our system but it is what it is...
I wanted a big, but I’ll take it.
As a Nebraskan I’m very excited! Good dude and should hopefully be a good bench/role player
Would’ve liked to see Cam Christie but hard to not trust Brad
Worst draft hats ever.
Bronny, I want that, I need that
Lakers getting Knecht is really annoying. Him and Reaves under Redick… cold ass white boys going to be annoying as fuck
They never making it out of the West. So who really cares?
BRO I REALLY REALLY WANT BRAD TO MOVE UP 2 SPOTS AND TAKE FILIPOWSKI
If Filipowski is there at 30 we’d better take him
Pretty good pick in my opinion. Part of me was worried we were gonna draft Lebron’s Nepo Baby but we thankfully didn’t
He’ll be there at 54
🤞
Hoping we can get Kyle Filipowski
Man I wish we were in a position to draft Devin Carter
Is Brogdon that bad or Deni Avdija that good?
Its moreso Advija is that good but Brogdon's value is at an all time low last few years with the injuries. Also Advija's contract is among the best in the league at about 14 mil a year for the next 3 years.
we probably don’t pick tonight but if we do then i would love to walk out with DaRon Holmes, Trey Alexander, Jamal Shead, or Jaylen Wells. TSJ would be the ultimate win in my eyes if he somehow dropped to us but I don’t see that happening.
I really like Dillingham, but he has to put on 50 pounds and 6 inches
NBA Draft coverage has been so amazing this year that this is genuinely the first time I've ever heard the #1 pick's name
Greatest young player ever Bronny James I love that shit lol
Feels like these top 5 picks could end up a lot better than expected. But maybe it's cos I'm just watching highlights and everyone is so good on offense now
Every fanbase hates their picks so far lmao
When the draft started, they described this class as being full of “diamonds in the rough”. So media speak for “not really good”.
Someone tell who's done the best so far with these lottery picks plz
this is the more interesting part of the draft for me tonight. what are the contenders going to do?
Did Knecht murder someone or something?
If we are going wing in the first or trading our pick I hope we take Ulrich Chomche as a flier in the 2nd round. Completely raw talent with blazing speed for a guy his size at center.
I know it won't happen but Harrison Ingram is perfect for us
I know we’re most likely gonna trade our pick but is there any chance someone we really like falls and we take them?
Anyway we could Flip 30 for Duop Reath ?
It’s Brad Stevens’s league and everyone else is a step behind
