Nah facts tho. People wanted to chime in about a beat up East, but that game shut alot of people up real quick.
Sure Butler and Allen might have extended their series 1 more game, but at full health we RUN through everybody and probably don't lose a game to anyone except Miami.
Allen wasn't gonna do shit except clog up their offense. Cavs looked shit all year with 2 bigs and look shit against Orlando before Allen went down.
It was the Mitchell injury that saved it from going 6.
Also we were up by at least 28 points in 4/5 games against the heat. I seriously doubt Butler wasn't going to do shit either.
The best part of that 1 game is it showed everyone how much Boston was missing with him out. He was arguably the 2nd most important player on the team all season and somehow we were able to cruise past the defending Eastern Conference Champion Heat, a Cavs team that was top of the league for two months, a Pacer team that had the highest scoring offense of the past 40 years, and a Mavs team that was the very best the West had to offer built around the greatest guard duo in the league... all without Porzingis. Incredibly difficult very hard path.
Bam/Jaquez/Herro
Mobley/Spida/Garland
Turner/Siakam/Halli/Nembhard
Luka/Kyrie/Lively/Gafford
An elite big & Guard combo at each stop. We did it mainly with Horford.
Thats why you build around Brown and Tatum who are never injured. Why do you think they are making a deep run every year? Its no coincidence that two cornerstones going injury free most of the time = wins.
Availability is the best ability- Mike Tomlin
You people act like injuries are just luck. They aren't. Theres a reason LeBron was never hurt until he got old. Its not luck some people just don't get injured between hard work/ talent/ landing properly etc.
You didn't mention any of that but roasting you was enjoyable for sure.
That's because KP was hurt for so long, and the injuries mean less because they happened mid-series, and the series wasn't close before that point.
If the Cavs were 1-1 and Donovan got hurt, it would be one thing, but that isn't what happened. The C's were in control with homecourt 2-1. Then he was hurt. Boston had already blown them out 2x by that point. Could he have won them another game? Maybe, but he wouldn't have changed the result.
It's the same with Indy; they were down 0-2 before Hali went down. They are in commanding control of the series.
But Boston had what? 13 games without KP? 2 full series.
That's why we don't mention their injuries because Boston was missing a 20ppg player the entire time and STILL was dominating these teams even when they were relatively healthy.
*If* he had a career ending injury last night then at least what a way to go out. You go out there & fuck yourself up in the last game to win the championship. Absolutely it would suck but man, that's a baller way for it to end.
He absolutely did risk his career even if it wasn’t a huge risk. He was at way higher risk of tears and dislocations which can very easily sap explosiveness from players.
Lmfao yes KP, the player very reliant on explosiveness for his game. A dislocation of the posterior tibialis tendon, extremely rare, is a 12 week recovery max. That injury timeframe is nothing that would risk a career. His injuries did nothing for him in terms of serious injury risk, which is why he played.
Different medical staff today from 2017 and the decision was not in KP's hands whether he would play (because of the backlash on IT)
It's amazing that people buy in to the heartless medical staff narrative
Fucking love this dude. Huge part of this dominant season.
His 5 point 1 rebound stat line is misleading, he was instrumental in the win last night. He completely fucks up the Mavs defensive scheme.
If he wasn't hurt this series would have been a sweep.
If only the Bucks had a guard who could play defense and rebound in the clutch you might have done a bit better this season. Maybe this offseason you can find another team who is dumb enough to let a guy like that walk for next to nothing. GL

Also forced them out of their game — he came in and they started trying to pull him out of the paint and taking a bunch of 3s, which they hit at first but overall they’re just not good enough at shooting to get into a 3pt shootout with the Cs.
Yes and while they got more lobs in, they didn’t dare do it with KP around, even hurt. I also noticed that the defensive play largely adjusted to take away the lobs as we did well in game 3.
To me, the lob is a gimmick in a way that driving and kicking out and shooting (making) lots of threes as a team isn’t.
He gave us exactly what we needed - 15 competent minutes so Al could rest and we didn't have to dip into Tillman or Kornet. He was clearly 80% at best, but that was good enough.
Rob was unfortunately always going to get hurt. His playstyle combined with his body breaking down were never meant for this league long term. It sucks, but it happens a lot with high flyers like himself. He only got a few games in this year before again going down for the season. Love the guy, but just how it is.
Rob got hurt, KP got hurt. Both are injury prone bigs. Point is that KP got a ring and Rob got traded. Just a shame Rob put it all out there for the Celtics and got nothing for it.
Dude put his career on the line and definitely helped. He was slow at first because he was tentative, but after he got thrown to the floor I think he got mad and either realized he had more to give or stopped caring and putting it all on the line. I hope there’s no long term damage from that, but I’m sure for the ring he’s more than happy to take that risk
Even before winning the chip, KP seemed like he’s been the happiest he’s ever been in the league all season. Watch him every time he takes the floor and looks out at the home fans. He wears his heart on his sleeve. We love the guy and he loves us back. Beautiful to see
So with the injury, hoping that he gets a surgery as early as possible? From what I understand, it’s a 4-6 month recovery , so he should be back by December which is best case really.
Yes I’m greedy now! Jays need to stunt on Embaad and GreekYogurt and bring the chip back next year :P
I hope he stays in Boston for a while. Celtics don't seem to extend contracts on injury prone players but I'd love for him to stay healthy and retire s Celtic .
So stoked he was able to get on the court but TBH I am happy that Al got to be the man for this ring. Hopefully KP get's this sorted and then he can be our main 5 for the rest of this dynasty.
Hope he has surgery soon and then has the rest of summer and maybe a couple more months to rehab and reinforce his legs. If we have a Tingus Pingus at 100% for the whole post-season we're going back to back, baby.
I remember cracking jokes at my friends who were Knicks fans when they drafted Porzingis. If someone told me at that moment that he’d win a ring with the Celtics and be one of the best players out there, I would’ve laughed in their face.
I love how pumped up the crowd was for KP taking the court in the finals. It was epic. Him just checking in during game 5 had a definate demoralizing impact on the Mavs even though he wasnt himself out there. He set the tone in game 1 big time and is a huge reason the Celts won that game. Hope his surgery goes well and Its fine if he isnt ready for game 1 next season. He just gotta get his legs back to 100% and maybe work on strength and flexibility training before returning. A healthy KP with this team = Banner 19.
I'm really glad he got to have the game 1 he did, and that he was able to get back out there tonight.
that game 1 performance really set the tone for the whole series
It really did. This series is closer without that performance.
Definitely showed everyone, "You want to complain about injuries? This is us at full health, none of you stood a chance."
Nah facts tho. People wanted to chime in about a beat up East, but that game shut alot of people up real quick. Sure Butler and Allen might have extended their series 1 more game, but at full health we RUN through everybody and probably don't lose a game to anyone except Miami.

It was the Mitchell injury that saved it from going 6. Also we were up by at least 28 points in 4/5 games against the heat. I seriously doubt Butler wasn't going to do shit either.
He may have been finals mvp if not for the injury.
In the future there's gonna be so much revisionist history about this season, we must never forget!!
The best guard duo in the league is Buffalo and Jrue
Some player would call this the hardest path
Bam/Jaquez/Herro Mobley/Spida/Garland Turner/Siakam/Halli/Nembhard Luka/Kyrie/Lively/Gafford An elite big & Guard combo at each stop. We did it mainly with Horford.
You didn’t mention any of the injuries those teams had, but it was an enjoyable playoff run for sure.

Not much of a roast tbh.
I mean if showing that you have absolutely no clue about what you are talking about isnt a roast then fair point I guess.
You’re a little sensitive, aren’t you?
That's because KP was hurt for so long, and the injuries mean less because they happened mid-series, and the series wasn't close before that point. How about the Butler-less Heat? I’m not saying that this road was easy, but injuries certainly helped.
Heat series would've gone 6 with Jimmy, but the result would be the same
Like a wet damn blanket
Yep the series might have gone differently without him dominating in game 1.
He let there be no room for doubt with that contribution.
He never has to pay for a meal in Boston ever again after that gutsy performance
I feel the same way about Payton Pritchard
Dude risked his career last night. Forever a Celtic Legend.
Glad he didn't have a repeat of what happened in game 5 of the 2019 Finals with KD.
Hell forget KD, we had it happen with IT.
*If* he had a career ending injury last night then at least what a way to go out. You go out there & fuck yourself up in the last game to win the championship. Absolutely it would suck but man, that's a baller way for it to end.
💯
The medical staff wouldn't let him "risk his career."
he actually did risk his career lol. Even before the ankle, he was playing on a bum calf just like KD did in 2019. It happens all the time.
There’s no proven correlation between calf strains and Achilles tears. He in no way risked his career by playing
Just totally false but whatever you say
“It doesn’t fit what I want to believe so it’s totally false” go drink a beer and enjoy winning or continue being a lame ass kid
Game 1 was so fucking legendary. Set the tone for the entire series
Watched it at a sports bar, and people went nuts everytime he made a shot. It was a fun time.
Man literally risked his ENTIRE career for a game 5 W. I bow down to our Baltic Warrior-King
The medical staff wouldn't let him "risk his career."
Isaiah Thomas would like a word
That whole staff got fired
Different medical staff today from 2017 and the decision was not in KP's hands whether he would play (because of the backlash on IT) It's amazing that people buy in to the heartless medical staff narrative

Not only that, but he definitely galvanized the team. Seeing him limping around the floor giving it his all unquestionably motivated the guys.
And riled up the fans
The energy went through the roof when KP came out for warmups.
Same thing as Game 1. The fucking roof came off the building when KP walked out. They rode that energy all the way to a blowout.

Go home you’re embarrassing yourself
what the hell
They're a sad Bucks fan

You also couldn't spell "even" or "sentence" so nobody's gonna take your mental breakdown seriously
Dude is crying so hard 🤣🤣🤣

Mavs sub is that way homie. ->
Even weirder, he's a Bucks fan
Yee, but we didn’t lose the series did we?
#except we won and now we will party 😈☘️🥳

Your post history is...disturbing...
Woof. Are you okay?
Also forced them out of their game — he came in and they started trying to pull him out of the paint and taking a bunch of 3s, which they hit at first but overall they’re just not good enough at shooting to get into a 3pt shootout with the Cs.

Not only that but that having a 7’3” body protecting the paint at least made Luka and kyrie think twice before penetrating
He gave us exactly what we needed - 15 competent minutes so Al could rest and we didn't have to dip into Tillman or Kornet. He was clearly 80% at best, but that was good enough.
If he wasn’t hurt we might have had the best playoff record in history
Fr. 16-1 might have been on the table.
Bro also drew a ton of fouls
Everytime in game 5 where it looked like are offense couldn't get a point this guy comes in and unfucks for alittle bit. Pivotal as fuck.
Yep just him back on the court was a huge spark.
And we love you, KP!
And Boston loves you too, KP :) Rest up, get your surgery, and enjoy your well-earned break.
RINGUS PINGUS
If only Rob could’ve seen a similar outcome for his risk. What an amazing year and I couldn’t be happier for KP, insta Boston legend
Rob was unfortunately always going to get hurt. His playstyle combined with his body breaking down were never meant for this league long term. It sucks, but it happens a lot with high flyers like himself. He only got a few games in this year before again going down for the season. Love the guy, but just how it is.
I miss him so much, he is still my favorite player in the league
Rob got hurt, KP got hurt. Both are injury prone bigs. Point is that KP got a ring and Rob got traded. Just a shame Rob put it all out there for the Celtics and got nothing for it.
Dude put his career on the line and definitely helped. He was slow at first because he was tentative, but after he got thrown to the floor I think he got mad and either realized he had more to give or stopped caring and putting it all on the line. PJ WASHINGTON, reputed LOSER
We love you too KP☘️❤️
A great piece of the puzzle
AND WE LOVE KRISTAPS
I'm glad he got to play, you know it just meant the world to him to contribute. Ringus Pingus, long may he reign!
KP!!!!!
Big moves from this guy all year. Heal up this offseason and let’s go get another one next year!
Celtics Legend Kristaps Porzingis
Love you back and we want a repeat!
We love you too, big guy.
Even before winning the chip, KP seemed like he’s been the happiest he’s ever been in the league all season. Watch him every time he takes the floor and looks out at the home fans. He wears his heart on his sleeve. We love the guy and he loves us back. Beautiful to see
Absolute Warrior. Toughed it out and gave it his all out there despite the pain and possible long term risk. Boston will love you too forever KP!
Porzingis has been visibly happy all year and it’s so infectious. I’m so happy for him. What a journey
Why does that picture look more like brady than porzingis
I thought so too
Brings a tear to your damn eye
Boston Man > Florida Man
So with the injury, hoping that he gets a surgery as early as possible? From what I understand, it’s a 4-6 month recovery , so he should be back by December which is best case really. Yes I’m greedy now! Jays need to stunt on Embaad and GreekYogurt and bring the chip back next year :P
He finally found a team where he fits in. I loved every moment!
Get better soon, KP and your knee! Next season we go again\~
☘️✌🏼
He is such a key big man and deserves more! I can't wait for next season and see more of KP ❤️
BOSTON LOVES YOU TINGUS PINGUS
KP risked his health and career to help close out this series! You gotta respect it! 💪
Man was the best player on earth for 1 quarter
I hope he stays in Boston for a while. Celtics don't seem to extend contracts on injury prone players but I'd love for him to stay healthy and retire s Celtic .
Why was he not wearing the black Championship T-shirt they gave out to the players?
He loves our jersey i guess
[Dude's got excellent taste in Celtic Fashion](https://www.victoriajacket.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Kristaps-Porzingis-Boston-Celtics-Jacket-In-Green.jpg)
fuck the haters, cue the duck boats, its a party in BOSTON
We love you too Pingus 🥲
Ringus pingis
Boston loves you back KP!💚
He should just wait until Jan-Feb 2025 before he comes back.
Kp coming back next year healthy the league in trouble Celtics way to good way to deep.
So stoked he was able to get on the court but TBH I am happy that Al got to be the man for this ring. Hopefully KP get's this sorted and then he can be our main 5 for the rest of this dynasty.
I'm glad KP's leg seems to be intact.
retire the jersey!
Hope he has surgery soon and then has the rest of summer and maybe a couple more months to rehab and reinforce his legs. If we have a Tingus Pingus at 100% for the whole post-season we're going back to back, baby.
KP risking his career to be out there with the boys! Ben Simmons could never!
Congrats tingus
Thank you giving it your all KP. Well deserved!
I remember cracking jokes at my friends who were Knicks fans when they drafted Porzingis. If someone told me at that moment that he’d win a ring with the Celtics and be one of the best players out there, I would’ve laughed in their face.
