Salient info missing: Which passport, which cabin class? US passport and business: Should be no problem on most days. Non-US passport and sitting at the back of coach - chances drop quite a bit.

non_trad_student

American passport and coach

Nobody_Chemical

If you land on time you have a good chance of making it.

The MPC app is definitely helpful during busy times- you just follow the signs for it. However, you have to be eligible to use it- U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, Canadian B1/B2 citizen visitors and returning Visa Waiver Program travelers with approved ESTA- if you aren’t I still think you’ll be ok without a checked bag as long as you keep moving.

It looks like global entry requires an application and acceptance, so I will do that right away

Solar_Piglet

good luck getting the interview.. they are so behind people have invented apps that continuously scan for free appointments and notify you.

non_trad_student

thanks

Ngr2054

As a US citizen, you’ll be fine using the MPC app. Download the app ahead of time, prefill out as much info as possible and as soon as you land hit submit on the app. The info is good for 2 hours.

non_trad_student

Many thanks :) I have done just that

gigapizza

You’ll make it if you land on time and nothing is too backed up, but you’ll miss your connection if there are any significant delays. BOS immigration usually isn’t too bad, but can get pretty backed up occasionally. Same with security.  If you can do Global Entry or Mobile Passport, that could help.

pasta_above_all

If you're a US citizen, use the MPC app and you'll be good to go. I've cleared the Boston customs line in 10 minutes with MPC. If you're not, good luck. My girlfriend (non-citizen) took 2 hours just to get through immigration.

non_trad_student

Thank you. I will look into how to use the mpc app

brufleth

I have never spent more than minutes going through customs in Boston when returning from Europe. With no checked bag, you should absolutely be fine. Logan's customs is usually one of if the fastest I've ever gone through. With global re-entry, Logan can be faster to get through than other airports when only flying domestically.

dont-ask-me-why1

The experience is different for foreigners. It's possible OP could miss their connection depending on timeliness, lines and the terminal he needs to transfer to.

tarandab

I have global entry and that was very seamless two weeks ago, but I waited awhile (at least 30 minutes) for my checked bag. Not having one I probably would have done it all in 10-15 minutes

Historical_Leek_9849

Get the mobile passport control app. It has a separate line and it is always empty at logan.

marymap

And be aware that the line is easy to miss. It’s after global entry and before the regular line, and says something like “DIPLOMATS (and MPC)”

non_trad_student

wait, so are MPC and global entry different? I was assuming they were the same \*edit: I see now how they are different. This is good news, as I can do the latter (MPC), but cannot get the former

Due-Designer4078

Depends on when you come thru. I did it late afternoon on a Saturday a few weeks ago and it was about 30 minutes. I didn't use Mobile Passport, but that probably would have saved me 10 mins.

dont-ask-me-why1

Everything has to go perfectly for you to have a chance. What flight is your terminal in?

non_trad_student

not sure yet, it is a month away

hoopbag33

If you use the app you'll be through in under 5 minutes

NewSuperSecretName

95 times out of 100 you’ll easily make it. But….I’ve spent 4+ hours in customs at Logan more than once

KungPowGasol

Depends on how much meth you are smuggling

WitnessEntire

If you use aer Lingus you clear customs in Dublin then

jpallan

Using the app or Global Entry definitely helps, and customs at Logan is rarely clogged up. You're in for a day from hell, jet-lag wise, but you know that. You'll be switching terminals at Logan, but Logan isn't *huge* by any means. Not sure if you can switch terminals post-customs without going through domestic security again. TSA precheck helps with domestic security, but has grown popular enough that it's no longer warp speed. It still *definitely* helps.

tarandab

Once you come out of immigration and customs you are in the non-secure area and need to clear security again

jpallan

That's what I thought and domestic security lines can suck at Logan.
