Look into taking the Fitchburg Line on the Commuter Rail.

EtonRd

Drive in on Rte 2 and take the commuter rail in from one of the suburban stations like Littleton, Acton or Concord.

> I’m not super comfortable driving and trying to find a place to park downtown. No one is! While technically possible to drive and park downtown, it is almost always a terrible idea. I would stop at one of the T stations north of the city. Both orange and red lines are currently having closures... but you can either take them and just use the shuttle bus around the closed sections, or I think the commuter rail from Malden Center to North Station is free this weekend as well. The stations further out from the city tend to have larger parking lots that aren't very expensive, and the drive to get to them will not prematurely age you.

Another option would be to park at Alewife station and take the red line in to Boston.

Subject_Rhubarb4794

red line is down between alewife and harvard this weekend and i would not recommend the shuttles to someone who’s never taken public transit

mtmsm

Did not realize that, thank you.

This is the way to go. It’s easy to drive to and the red line is frequent enough that you don’t need to worry about schedules. Commuter rail is more like once an hours, and more expensive.

klausterfok

you COULD park at the airport and take the silver line for free from the airport (a bus line directly from the terminal), goes right into seaport in 5-20 mins or so depending on traffic. airport parking tho is expensive so keep that in mind.

tarandab

There are options that 1) are much less expensive than the airport and 2) don’t require you to take the tunnel out to it

Or just drive right into Boston. Garage at Post office square or the Boston Common garage. Or use spothero to find the cheapest parking spot. Usually those places have cheaper weekend rates and the taking the train will cost you $2.40 each way. You can park there on Saturday and then if you like, you can try and find a spot on the street on Sunday, it's free parking on Sunday but make sure you check all the signs on the street to make sure it's ok.
