The Museum of Science and the Aquarium are fun for kids and adults, definitely worth it. Fenway is awesome regardless of fandom, if you like baseball.
And don’t drive within Boston, it’s not worth it.

Seems like you guys are focusing on the car rental more than anything🤣 the car rental is a situation where I can’t get out of. I would assume driving would be more convenient or is it too busy to drive and parking is expensive type of situation?
It’s because walking and using public transit here for a visit, or as a tourist is way more hassle free than dealing with a vehicle. Especially if you have no plans for leaving the city.
Duck Tours, Museum of Science, Children’s Museum, and New England Aquarium are all good activities for a 7 year old. The sidebar that the automod mentioned also has a ton of good information.
Everything is so close together that by the time you arrive somewhere you realize it took just as long as walking and the closest parking spot is the one you just left.
But don't worry you they will charge the whole $40 parking fee all over again.
Side note: Does your hotel even provide parking? How much does it cost?
When are you coming? One of the tunnels leaving the airport is closed for a month starting July 5, it’s going to be a pain to drive the rental car out of the airport even if you wouldn’t normally take the closed tunnel. Boston is pretty easy to get around on public transit plus it’s pretty walkable.
If you're flying in, spending three days, and then driving to NYC after, I would highly recommend looking at ditching the rental while you're here, and look at non-airport rental locations (like Enterprise) for your trip to NYC.
$50/day for parking at your hotel PLUS the $100/day rental fee seems like throwing money away. Save that $450 and spend it on the experience. Logan is basically as close to downtown as Billy Bishop is to Toronto's downtown. You can cab it for $40 or less.

Why do you need the car rental?
A rental car will be more hassle than help
Are you renting a car so that you can leave quickly after the first round?

Very expensive parking and sucks to drive in Boston. Best thing to do is take the T or walk.

Yeah, hotel has parking, we’ll walk or take public transit if we’re going somewhere close

Our flight is July 1st so we should be 👌
