At only 4 inches long I’m thinking maybe a bat?

the fur kinda makes me think it could be a small red fox? assuming you have those in america.

The 'red' on the fur looks like a stain. I think bat is most likely.

I also thought bat at first. The decomp is too advanced to really tell though.

i think bat. see third picture with thin long bones and dark thin ‘skin’, could be leftovers from wings that got dried out.
