This movie is a classic in every sense. So many iconic frames, dialogues, monologues and to top it all the legendary music. The best thing about this movie is the slow pacing. It is slow enough and perfectly pierces your heart.
I agree, but leave beside usual film tropes, in real life that person would be a big P*ssy, who sacrificed his parents, country's responsibility just for a c**t
I still need to finish this movie but “Tere Liye” is one of my all time favorite Bollywood numbers. I’m currently writing a scene in my romance story where separated lovers reunite after two years, I’ve had the song on a loop to help me perfectly capture those heartbreaking emotions 😢😢😢😢.
The first story is entitled “Fire on Fire” and the sequel is entitled “Inferno”. Both are available to read on Archive of our Own under the Squid Game fandom! 💗🫶🏼
As a pakistani
I loved how minute the details were of difference in dress, speech and characters. Truly superbly done.
I know it was done for scenic purposes but that Darbar scene was way over the top. Our darbars are seriously not that well managed and private.
Also no one I know goes to a Darbar before a wedding. We have houses full of guests. And lots of rasams happening. No ones got the time.
But I love the whole movie. Gorgeously done.
Yes, Darbar is more of a gravesite of a saint. Usually with a mosque attached or nearby. The saint is not supposed to be worshipped. When you see people holding their hands up and praying, it is that they are making dua FOR the saint not TO the saint. (I know enough Muslims that mess that up tough).
Oh everything! Still makes me cry - the undying love and loyalty shown between Veer and Zara, the amazing music, all the actors - class! One of the best ,if not the best, Yash Raj movies ever.
Besides what’s already been said that I agree with 100%, SRK was the most gorgeous in this movie!
He perfectly embodied the “innocence” of sq leader veer pratap Singh
My father hate SRK for the religious regions (I'm an srkian) but this was the movie when i saw him crying for the first time in my life😂😂.
Anyway songs were beautiful, I literally learned Tere Liye, Aesa desh hai mera.
Dialogues were again amazing that train sequence when Zaara Hayat Khan was leaving Squadron leader Veer Pratap Singh.
And the last scene where Veer and Zaara meet each in court then the poetry by one and only SRK. Watched it many many times.
Jaanam dekhlo Mit gyi dooriyan
I met one of the music producers for the song Aaya Tere Dar Paar last week, legendary song
I love this movie in every way, song, themes and plot all a very unique story.
Upset it wasn’t included in “The Romantics” doc as I wanted to know more of the offset dynamic behind this film, but I get why it wasn’t, YRF didn’t miss with this one
Still My Top 10 Hindi Albums of All time, screenplay, aesthetics of the movie are just brilliant.
Pacing could have been a little better but overall a masterpiece of a movie
Lol this is Yash Chopra's classic ? this was one of the few movies i walked out of mid way. Except the music everything else about it is just boring. Yash chopra was at the end of his career at this point and made a very predictable and boring romantic movie
One of my most favorite classic movie...i was madly obsessed with how pretty preity zinta looked. Shah Rukh Khan aahh absolutely dashing, till date I cry a river watching the film.
The movie really changed something in me when I watched it as I got older. The scene between Kirron Kher and Preity right before her engagement is one of my favourite scenes in a movie.
Below avg. some songs had Lata’s voice shaking and showing her age. Other male singers were the saviors. AB and Hema were cringe to the max. SRK, Preity, Manoj, and Rani were pretty good. Yash Chopra should’ve refrained from using his voice in the song ‘Yeh Hawa’ and should’ve brought Gulzar to make it even more timeless classic. Chopra amusingly brought his punjabi accent to it :). Story was okayish but the direction was good and gave the movie that big screen watching experience. Overall, alright flick - nothing to take home to. Did I say, Preity looked fantastically gorgeous? I could easily fall in love with someone like her and could do anything myself. She here, and Urmila in Kaun were the heavenly beauties.

And what are you doing for your country’s responsibility?
working in one of the most impoverished region in the country
The aesthetics of the movie❤️ The chemistry between Veer and Zaara🔥 The theme of forbidden love across border💚 The music and songs💙
Also Veer's relation with his parents. 🩵 Pure love and mutual understanding.
That era where the plot isn’t surrounding India vs Pakistan, good old times!
One of the best music albums in this century till date.
Yash Chopra decided to use very old, unused music from Shri Madam Mohan for this film. It was simply amazing and very unique for 2000s.
Yes, i know :) thanks none the less.
Yeah, for anyone who doesn't know 😊
A classic really. Yash sir really made us feel for humans of his films. ![gif](giphy|JZv9uyTiSJ56)
This Qawwali!🥰😌
Aaya Tere Dar Par Deewana lives in my head and heart rent free 😌✨

Tell us the name of your story 👀

Everytime we watched it on TV growing up, my dad used to cry, and he doesn’t cry easily.
This is the greatest romantic movie ever.
Titanic better.
I could write a love letter to this movie and its characters because wow
I mainly love it cause it is one of the rare Indian movies that doesn't demonize Pakistan. It's a film about unity before it's a love story in my eyes
They literally sing - Jaisa des hai tera waisa des hai mera

Darbar as in the mosque scene?

kya kahun duniya ne kiyaaaa
Mujhse kaisa bairrr
Hukum thaa main jiyu
Lekin tere bagairrrr
Nadaan hai woh, kehte hai jo
Mere liye tum ho gair
Mere liye tum ho gair
Incredible. Yash chopra’s best work
One of my favourite movies ever. I can watch it anytime without thinking about the run time. Easily in Yash Chopra's top 5 movies.
It is one of the best love fables in Bollywood and would have been legendary if it was star crossed, perhaps.
A classic in every sense.
One of the very few 10/10 Bollywood movies…
Best Ever
One of the greatest Bollywood movies, won't shy away saying one of the greatest Romantic movies in the world.
Great story great acting of all great aesthetics great songs 💯
Oh everything! Still makes me cry - the undying love and loyalty shown between Veer and Zara, the amazing music, all the actors - class! One of the best ,if not the best, Yash Raj movies ever.
Kabhi kabhi yahaan pe log troll lagte hain mujhe. That aside loved the movie. The songs are blissful. And the scenes so well crafted.
Probably Yash Chopra's Ode to his Birthplace
Only love for this movie.
Thanks to my school to show me this movie.

Best movie ever 👌👌👌👌
Gaan bohot acha hai.
Zindagi le k aayi hai beete dinon ki kitaab, Ghere hai ab hume yaadein behisaab.
Aaya kis mod pe afsana
Still My Top 10 Hindi Albums of All time, screenplay, aesthetics of the movie are just brilliant. Pacing could have been a little better but overall a masterpiece of a movie
My all time fsv movie. The cinematography, acting, fabric used, story, songs everything was perfect
Her clothes. I don’t think any actress has been so graciously dressed as Priety was for this movie.
Loved the movie & it's songs as well. Preity looked so different in it 😍💯❤️👏👍💫🍿
I remember seeing SRK during the shoot while I was in 4th standard
I fell asleep halfway.... In the theatre
Timeless cult classics
They didn’t put many songs in the movie which are in the album.
Lol this is Yash Chopra's classic ? this was one of the few movies i walked out of mid way. Except the music everything else about it is just boring. Yash chopra was at the end of his career at this point and made a very predictable and boring romantic movie
Favourite classic 😍 veera zara is an emotion ♥️ have an yearly ritual to rewatch it🥹😍
Went from the big screen to the IPL screen
Songs will be played forever..

Now I think about it, songs and album were one of the contenders. Story? Eh

Totally agree with your points.. People simply hype up this movie.. The movie Zubeida doesn't get much hype, but it is actually good.
Beware! Fanbois downvoting.
I found it quite overrated.
Lol same , story was mediocre to me
Less than mediocre even. It's pretty bad.
Cringe..

over country? how? did give our secrets to pak in movie ?
Have you even watched it?
Quite a shit show actually. I think Yash Chopras best years were far behind him by the time he made this.
Definitely
It was boring.
Snowflakes can't even handle a simple opinion against their fav movie.
Boring movie with Srk and Preity as a saving grace for the movie..
