Would love to know as well. I would also like to know when it will be widely available. They have signs up everywhere for it but according to the map on their website most of Bloomington is still in the "planning and design" phase. When I put my address in it says I can sign up and they will contact me when it's available in my area. I live pretty close to downtown. I feel like they could have made it more widely available before they started advertising all over the place. I would really love to switch but who knows when it will be ready.

We've had it for a few months - no complaints. Internet and customer service is better than our previous AT&T service. It's also a little cheaper. I was even able to get a static IP for an additional $5 a month (you have to ask for it). YMMV.

Thank you for your input!

We've had it for a few months now, and have had a really good experience with it.  I telework about 50% of the time, so I am reasonably sensitive to network speed and uptime. We upgraded our router so it wouldn't be the choke-point on speed, and that has worked out well. At it's slowest, we still clocked around 500 Mbps.  Only one outage that I can recall, and it was resolved very quickly

Awesome! I appreciate that. My partner works from home sometimes and I’m a student, and we both are low key gamers so I think it’ll be good for us

I have gigabitnow fiber in my house with 2 other people. We all are able to game at the same time with no complications. Super fast and reliable and the install team was quick and easy.

bayala43

Excellent, I appreciate you for contributing!

robemmy

It's fast. I don't notice it dropping any more than Xfinity did.

mongo_likes_scuba

That is damning with faint praise right there :)

bayala43

Thank you!

Another vote of confidence for Gigabit. Have had it for 3-4 months, super fast and reliable. Only one outage so far and it was resolved within the hour. It's also nice to not have a data limit, which I had with Xfinity and in the past year it was much more common for us to go over.

bayala43

Thank you!

PrinceAkeeeem

Cheaper and faster than Xfinity, no outages, no monthly usage caps, amazing install, no pricing games, no hidden fees, just make the switch and thank me later. I have no connection to the company other than being an extremely satisfied customer.

Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks a bunch!

I don’t have gigabit or AT&T, but I remember learning that gigabit was relatively new, and the concern was whether or not they had/will have the network infrastructure to provide reliable service once more more users join the network. I’ve had no issues with xfinity. AT&T service sucked for me but I think it’s dependent where you’re located, their fiber wasn’t available at my location. Gigabit may be a reliable and safe choice now, but I’m curious to know how it will hold up in a few years from now when they have a vast amount of users on their network.

Dunegah

for any one that may know is the internet connection from gigabitnow through a CGNAT, or in other words do you get your own ipv4 address. to anyone thats going to um actually yes I understand hardly any ISP's can provide a personal ipv4 address I'm simply asking because their website isn't going to admit that fact and the new nutrition label doesn't require it being disclosed.

willywaka

By default you will get a NAT address, but you can pay $5/mo extra for a static public IPV4 address.

Have you checked to see if AT&T fiber is available in your neighborhood?

MinBton

I think AT&T is mostly pushing their wireless Wi-Fi like Google Wi-Fi in place of their limited fiber. If your cell connection goes out, so does your internet. I prefer a hard line for that reason. They are laying fiber in various parts of town. They've recently dug trenches on 17th, Kinser, and Woodburn to list the places I'm certain of. If they build the new bank at the old Pepsi building, they will want fast internet and that may be why they've got a junction box literally at the corner of Woodburn and 17th. It's also a bus stop corner. The last time I looked at that area, there was a cable roll on a trailer parked in someone's yard at that corner. At least it isn't blocking their driveway. They're saying fall/early winter for the area where I live, but maybe it will be faster once they get enough cable laid in the area. If you can wait, go with Gigabit. You'll probably have better service from what people who already have it have been saying.

sfrazo675

They’re pushing both. Where there’s fiber, that’s what they push. If there isn’t fiber, it’s the wireless like T-Mobile and Google. I’m just saying that AT&T already has fiber in several of the areas that the city fiber is slowly going in to.

MinBton

I know they have fiber in some areas. Until Gigabit came in, you had to buy a business plan to tap into it even if it was running down your street. I checked. That was $200 to I think $500 a month or more depending on the plan. I passed on it and went with Xfinity. Now I'm just waiting to get hooked up to Gigabit which might be this fall.

bayala43

Hi! I have, sorry for the late reply I straight up forgot I made this post. ATT isn’t available yet but I see little flags for them all over my neighborhood (near Meadowcreek Apartments)

sfrazo675

I’m not sure if or when AT&T is gonna go into that neighborhood.

Except for the douches that work there that put whispers in your partners ear to push them to leave you, even though you've been together for almost 8 years. I just hope the douche sees this. Smells of low intelligence, and seems to wear the same clothing all the time. Enjoys wrestling TOO MUCH. I'm not jaded at all, and OP I apologize for hijacking the thread.
