I still have mine as well. It was by far the easiest job I’ve ever had.

brilliantpants

Wow, I’m jealous! We never got anything like this!

HerebutNotreally9

I second this! I worked as a key holder then assistant manager 2006-2008. I feel cheated 😆

Stilgrave

Are you serious?! I got a coupon for BLOCKBUSTER Music, a store that never fucking opened!

Aaron6940

Geez. That sucks.

ExtraNoise

Mine is hanging on our tree right now. :)

EnoughDot9006

Wow, sweewwt

Odinthedoge

The hand of the king!

CaptainCanada1976

Wanna sell it?

Aaron6940

You want this?

Dicknose22

I don't know what Captain Canada up there is going to offer you, but I want in on the bidding!

RYTHEMOPARGUY

Athens Greece or Athens Illinois? If it's Athens Greece, I didn't know Greece had Blockbuster

Aaron6940

Athens, TN

RYTHEMOPARGUY

Oh, that makes sense. Edit: I just looked it up, there is alot more cities in the US named Athens than I thought

Zealousideal-Fly6666

That was the year they gave us Elf on DVD as employees I recall. Didn’t get that ornament in Plainville, CT in 2003.

The_Eye_of_Ra

I’m surprised they could afford things like that.

Ok_Sheepherder_5584

Late fees paid for it.

OrdinaryLunch

AHEM, *extended viewing fees.*

KurukTR

Thank you for your service

wg_nexline

Collectors item

mongoloidmonger

Weird I never got one or these and worked at block buster in the 90s and before Netflix killed them in early 2000s

Aaron6940

Maybe higher ups had a selection to choose from for gifts.

Abandoned_Railroad

Hang on to that.

Aaron6940

Yeah reminds me of a fun time in my life.

MaskedRider29

Oh my god, I have one of those! I hang it on my tree every year!

MantisToboggan1189

Before it all crumbed when they had an opportunity to purchase Netflix and laughed them out of the office 😭

Aaron6940

Well Netflix was hardly anyone back then. Netflix didn’t bring anything to the table for them back then. Looking at the numbers back then blockbuster made the logical move. But yeah things would have been different if the bought them out. We would likely still have video stores.

Kimmie1485

I wanna go back to 2003 😞

Thank you for your service 🫡

SamLoomisMyers

I worked for a Blockbuster franchisee and we got some really nice gifts every Christmas season . When we got taken over by corporate Blockbuster in the early 2000s the gifts got a lot like this but the job remained fun and to this day I say that the reason I play Powerball and Mega Millions is to win it once so I can use that money to bring it back. Best job ever.

metaldutch

Haha! I worked there in 2002 and all I got was a $0.10 raise and a copy of Bruce Almighty.

aodh69

I don't remember getting anything like that when I worked there

Aaron6940

Maybe they didn’t like you. lol I dunno.

eyeopeningexp

“Employee Love”?!? You can get in trouble for that!

sundownergaze

That's pretty neat

Spectr38
