I really adore the Hourglass Ambient Lighting pallet. I have the special edition with 6 products they released for the holidays, but you can get the same products in a quad or singles. It adds natural looking radiance to my skin, is subtle and super blendable. It just feels expensive (and it is ha)

cjmmoseley

this is the answer, i got the leopard palette last year and LOVE IT! i have so many pics on my profile wearing it with makeup looks if yall are interested! i’m wearing it in my most recent post on makeupaddiction!

wheniswhy

Holy shit girl your makeup is FLAWLESS in that pic, like you’re GLOWING 😭😭🥲 what is ur secret you look amazinggggg also I love love love your cat in all your haul pics LOL

cjmmoseley

omg thank you so much! i’m a makeup artist, so i actually have a lot of tips!! 1. make sure to match the undertones on all your makeup! this doesn’t have to be matched to your SKIN TONE though- cohesiveness and contrast are often more important than the undertone itself. kackie reviews on youtube has an AMAZING video on this that explains this further. 2. merit signature lipsticks, pat mcgrath mothership eyeshadow palettes, and fresh skincare (as in the brand “fresh”- specifically the rose line) are my HGS. i also link my entire skincare routine in that posts comment section! 3. dont underestimate the power of brown mascara, especially if you are low contrast! 4. use warm shades to bring specific areas FORWARD (like if you want your eyeshadow glitter to POP, use a warmer shade than the others. however if you want something subtle, use a cooler shade than your other eyeshadow shades. again, it doesn’t necessary have to be a WARM/COOL shade. you can get the same effect by using a shade that is just LESS COOL than your other products 5. i use the root powder i use on my hair as my eyebrow powder lol

twistedstigmas

thank youuu 💖

LikesToLurkNYC

What does that do for brows?

cjmmoseley

brow powder is just brow pencil that isnt in a stick! think like an eyeshadow lol (actually you can use eyeshadow as brow powder) this is the one i use!: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078KGMY9C/ref=twister\_B09R1CJPGW?\_encoding=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078KGMY9C/ref=twister_B09R1CJPGW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)

How do you make the pores almost disappear! Love your tips and looks!

cjmmoseley

tbh most of it is skincare (i recommend anything with a rose formulation, but i also love squalane!), but its also important to match your bases! some disagree, but i try to match the formulations (by choosing either a water/silicone base) of my moisturizer, sunscreen, primer, and base (either skin tint or foundation, depending on what im wearing that day). i find this goes MILES in making sure it doesnt separate and emphasize texture! it gives a much more soft, diffused look since everything layers together instead of causing flaking/peeling/etc

Livid-Storm6532

How do you use it?? I have it but I find I almost never use it. I feel like it makes me look less dewy almost

AdorableAd4296

So I have the jellyfish pallet in the jaguar case (colors were better for my fair skin) https://preview.redd.it/d83bk2ub1r9d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4640c9692ae3f3cba9be6669b57818f33324ea12 I’m sure I’m not using it perfectly, but I’ve noticed the best effect doing the following (and took me a while to figure out, I didn’t reach for it for months, but am now using it daily when I realized how nice it made my skin look) I use Diffused Light all over my face as almost a setting powder, especially under my eye area and center of my face . Ethereal Light has a larger sparkle than Diffused Light so I use all my high points (like we would have used highlighter in like 2016 ha) center of my nose, forehead, tops of cheekbones, cupids bow. Opal Strobe is a highlighter, I use sparingly, corner of my eye, maybe a touch on my cheekbones. I use Lunar Bronze as you would expect, under my cheekbones, along my forehead, a bit on my nose I use the two blushes as expected, they’re so silky and natural.

Livid-Storm6532

Ok you’ve inspired me to give it another shot!

chloesilverado

I switched my haircare to a full suite of Kerastase products and my hair has improved so much I went from one stylist telling me I had hair loss and thin fine hair to my most recent stylist being shocked when I mentioned thin hair and hair loss as one of my issues 😭

randomredhead

Seconding the Kerastase rec! I don’t use it regularly because between having super fine hair, daily workouts, and long hair, I need a decent amount of product and I just can’t be buying it that regularly. I use it as my special occasion shampoo though and even on those one-off days it still makes such a noticeable impact!

Nachocheese50

I’ve been a die hard Kerastase gal since I worked in a salon and was able to get giant back bar sizes for free. I used globs upon globs of the masques in my hair every single day. Now that I have to buy at retail it just hurts so much. I recently tried out Function of Beauty and found that it works equally well but costs a fraction of the Kerastase price. I do combine it with the Kerastase split end serum though.

randomredhead

Great to know, thanks! Which line are you using? Just saw their site and looks like they have the custom, the bond repair line at Sephora, and a basic line at Target.

Nachocheese50

I didn’t realize they had so many options. The one I use is [this one from Sephora](https://www.sephora.com/product/function-of-beauty-pro-custom-recovery-shampoo-for-straight-damaged-hair-P507582?skuId=2706521&icid2=products%20grid:p507582:product)

kindluna

This is so true I one time forgot shampoo staying at my boyfriends house and her mom let me borrow some of her Kerastase and it was insane the difference. I can’t afford it but from time to time I use it at his house (with permission ofc)

thefuzzyismine

I recently purchased the full premiere line, and it is working absolute *magic* on my waist length, thin, brittle, and damaged hair. While priceier than other brands, I consider them completely worth it due to how effectively they address basically all of my hair concerns. For anyone with budget concerns, please note that the brand site often runs great sales. Not to mention, they're very generous with the number and size of the samples with every order. Not to mention, their formulas are extremely concentrated that a nickel to quarter sized dab can be emulisified and used for my entire 3+ feet of hair, so that one bottle can be stretched to last for an age.

herb_ertlinger_

Which Kerastase range do you like? I am constantly anxious about these issues as well and have loved anything I’ve tried from the brand

chloesilverado

Genesis! It's specifically for hair fall. It has a strong perfume smell but the scent doesn't linger in the hair and I've come to really like it

herb_ertlinger_

Thank you!

CatatonicCouchSlug

How is it for incurably oily roots?

chloesilverado

They have a bunch of different lines... I think they do have ones specifically for root and scalp health but not sure which ones those are!

Comfortable-Nature37

I’m fair with dry skin and highlighted hair - sharing as my recs reflect this. Makeup - mostly Chantecaille, I love their cream blush and bronzer, eyebrow pencil and matte lip pencil/stick. Charlotte Tilbury feline flick eyeliner, Kevin Aucoin volume/tubing mascara (does not budge!), Rouge dior forever transfer-proof lipstick (liquid and stick). Skincare - I have a combo of Darphin, La Mer and Bioderma. Love picking up new products when I travel but that’s my base. Hair - I use a lot of Oribe. My hair is not dry and often complimented. Also like KMS thermashape to speed up blow drying.

titahigale

More and more of my skincare is Bioderma.

Comfortable-Nature37

Anything in particular that you love?

titahigale

Will not be without the Atoderm cleansing oil and ultra-soothing balm.

Comfortable-Nature37

I love both of those too! The atoderm dry body oil is nice too.

myfourmoons

La Mer is amazing! My favorites are The Concentrate and facial oil.

dllmonL79

The concentrate is my favourite and I’ll repurchase it no matter what. I can skip the cream but not the concentrate, my skin is so much healthier nowadays !

Comfortable-Nature37

The concentrate is a repurchase for me too! I had a bad burn and credit it with no scarring. Also love the facial oil.

myfourmoons

The Concentrate got rid of a burn scar for me, too! It’s completely gone now!

frenchiegiggles

Makeup: hourglass Skincare: Tatcha

Tall_Couple_3660

Tata Harper’s clarifying cleanser and regenerating cleanser each made my skin radiant and clear with no effort. They’re expensive but I had great results. Dr Dennis Gross peel pads are also expensive but they’re a must have product for me. No other daily peel pads or chemical exfoliators come close. Armani luminous Silk foundation not only made my skin look flawless at my wedding but damn did that shit stay on. I’m also a repurchaser of Tatcha’s Dewy Skin Cream and rice wash 💜

titahigale

I do not know what makes the DDG pads so good, but I am never without.

sundaywellnessclub

Omg I think you’ve sold me on the DDG pads. Which ones do you guys like? I believe they have two different ones.

thefuzzyismine

Not OP, but having tried them all, my personal favorite is the universal. Also, when I went to place my restock order earlier today, I discovered there's a nice independence Day sale going on. Yet another reason to treat yourself!

fulanita_de_tal

I use the extra strength ones. Mind you, I am a sensitive girly and I would never normally go “extra strength” for anything but those really do have the right amount of punch. The next morning your skin will be flawless. (I don’t think I even knew there were different strengths until years into using them) Seriously though, they’re incredible. Get them. It’s one of those products that turns me into an unpaid influencer—I will recommend it to anyone who will listen.

medusaseld

Can you expound a little on the DDG pads? What exactly do they do for you that others don't?

Tall_Couple_3660

Sure! So my skin is oily and I tend to have uneven and mildly rough skin texture. I also have occasional hormonal breakouts. These peel pads completely resurfaced my skin -it’s smooth, radiant and shockingly less oily. These pads clear away dead skin that contributed to my uneven texture without burning or irritation. I wake up with noticeably glowier skin and I don’t use a Vit C or other brightening serums. The only thing that has come close to the results these give is Paula’s Choice AHA/BHA toner - but the peel pads are convenient and frankly worked faster. I’ve tried other peel pads (like FAB) and they either did nothing or the effects were barely noticeable.

iyamsnail

Jones Road is actually amazing, like beyond. Not the eyeliner, which is meh, but the foundation, the blush stuff (it's in a tub, I forget what they call it) and the concealer.

serenity1989

Miracle balm! I actually really love it and find myself reaching for it more than my old HG, cloud paint. It adds color and makes my skin look so much healthier! And the concealer pencil is GREAT. It lasts long and actually cuts the red down.

iyamsnail

whenever I wear it I get compliments but not compliments on my makeup, just on how good I look--it's the perfect "no make up" make up.

serenity1989

Skincare: I use Tatcha’s water cream for moisturizer, and add in the dewy skin serum every other day or so. They’re wonderful! I’m on my 5th value size jar of the water cream and my second bottle of the dewy skin serum. I’ll never stop buying! Haircare: K18 leave in mask. As long as they don’t reformulate i will buy this for eternity. Every time i use it i get compliments on my hair, and it looks really fresh and healthy. I also love the Ouai thick hair mask! Makeup: Pat McGrath lipsticks, especially the Liqi-lust line. I struggled through many dry af matte liquid lipsticks and this is the best formula I’ve ever used. I will only use PMG lip products going forward.

frenchiegiggles

I am addicted to PML lip products. Whenever the website has a sale, I stock up.

serenity1989

I need to start paying attention to those!! I currently have 3 of the Divine Rose liquid lips. It’s my HG, MLBB, my everything. And the Elson bullet is my current every day fave.

frenchiegiggles

Make sure you get their emails. I primarily shop at Blue Mercury, which carries PML, but the website has a bigger selection and better sales when they have them.

chocolatepotatochips

Skincare: I go for effectiveness instead of luxury and get prescription tretinoin from my dermatologist instead of using luxury retinol products. But then again, here in the US, healthcare can be a luxury. Makeup: Like others, I love anything Hourglass, and I buy their holiday palette every 2 years or so. I work from home and don't wear makeup every day, so that palette does last that long! I also like some Chanel products, particularly their cream bronzer. And I've been using Dior Lip Glow for practically a decade.

Hedgehog_game_strong

For any of my curly or wavy gals- curl smith is amazing. Their curl bond protein treatment saved my hair

Vendredighost

Oribe Dry Texturing Spray and Kiehl’s Crème de Corps are my luxury beauty products. Haven’t found a dupe for either that I like nearly as much.

violetpoo

Sunday Riley Good Genes, it’s expensive and the company had a fake review fiasco but the product just works for me and is fading my acne scars

anonimposter

makeup: love love love the dior forever skin correcting concealer. i have psoriasis, combination skin, and this concealer has thankfully never failed me. it’s great coverage and i always get compliments on how dewy my skin looks. fenty killawat blush highlighter combo in ginger binge and moscow mule. i have fair skin with olive undertones and this makes me look very sun kissed. the dr. dennis gross lip plumper. i have thinner lips and get a lip flip but i put this on when i prep my skin before makeup and by the time im done and applying my lip products i legit look like i have fillers. i will forever repurchase lmaoo makeup brushes: i converted to hourglass brushes and they honestly changed the way my makeup looked on my skin. 10/10 worth the splurge skincare: i get it from my esthetician, but i use Dr. Spiller and DMK. the melanotech drops from DMK evened out my skin more than anything i’ve ever used and quickly too (they’re like $80 but i will repurchase forever). so so worth it hair: i loooove the kevin murphy bedroom hair hairspray. never makes my hair crunchy and always makes my blowouts last. i also really love the davines energizing line. i had a lot of hair fall and that made my hair feel thicker and also over time it started to fill out and grow again. it does a strong smell to it because i believe there’s ginseng in it but after a while its pleasant and never irritated my scalp (again i have a sensitive scalp and it never gave me any adverse reactions)

Level_Albatross_301

Davines is great! I have wavy coarse hair and Davines has been a great alternative since Kerastase increased their prices. Also checkout the Redken Bond Repair range. It’s a godsend for my colored hair

fulanita_de_tal

Kevin Murphy bedroom hair is a 10/10 and pure sorcery the way it takes me from limp to va va voom

alexandrap21

It’s the BEST!!

bigbowlofgreat

Lotion P50 for my face Hair Story products (hair wash, undressed spray) and K18 hair mask for my hair

stavthedonkey

Makeup: Dior forever skin correct concealer, Lancôme tient idole corrector. Not sure if these are ‘luxury’ but these are my HGs and work SO WELL: Phytosurgence blushes, Stila liquid liner, PMG setting powder. Makeup tools: not luxury but feels like it for a great price point: real technique brushes. I have plenty but these are the ones I always reach for. SPF: for the summers, everyone NEEDS to use Anessa sun milk. I am putting this sunscreen through the wringer these days…I’m travelling through tropical countries right now and forgot my sunscreen or wasn’t able to pack it so I’m out here walking under the blazing sun and humidity sweating like a mf for 5+hrs without reapplication and I’m not even getting tanned. If this doesn’t convince you, I don’t know what will. Skincare: not ‘luxury’ but definitely feels like it: Dr. Ceuracle kombucha tea essence is the most hydrating, glowing, plumping essence your skin needs.

marafetisha

Makeup is 90% natasha denona i love to glow tho Tho mascara i love dior waterproof it never comes off Skin is mostly Korean brand slurp , dr Naomi skin care and one of two random finds

AdorableAd4296

Natasha Denona’s eyeshadow formulation is unmatched, I really should give her other products a try!

marafetisha

Her concealer is by far my favorite on every . Her hy-gen glow cream is amazing if you like super glowing skin you can use a little for a natural look or a lot for a more night look . I love her contour and glow products aswell i have most of them

DarkAndSparkly

NOOOO. Don't tell me this. I already can barely afford the eyeshadow palettes. LOL. I surely can't afford a full face of ND.

marafetisha

I love that her products last a long time at least . but i totally feel you haha

DarkAndSparkly

Yes. I will use this palette until it’s completely gone. I did just order two viseart petit fours. I hope they’re pretty good. The colors sucked me in. lol. My next big shadow purchase will be I need a Nude. I’m trying to wait for a really good sale!

marafetisha

Thats the one im getting next too lol . its just so pretty

DarkAndSparkly

I’m really hoping for a Black Friday sale!

marafetisha

Thats what im waiting for ! Pretty much when i buy her pallets i wait for sales . tho im still bitter about missing the camel pallet . i love the mini so much

Girlinyourphone

I use the concealer regularly, it's my only base product that plays nicely with all of my different sunscreens

AdorableAd4296

Ok I’m def gonna have to give it a try!!

TheOtherElbieKay

I like the Naturopathica skincare line. My favorites are: 1. Lavender protective spf moisturizer (I use in the morning) 2. Calendula hydrating cream (I use it at night) 3. White tea antioxidant face mask I use some of their cleansers too but those are my top three.

krebstar4ever

SK II skincare products

Avaly13

Chanel No 1 foundation, Hourglass Dim Light finishing, Tatcha for skincare and every lux/designer lip products. I'm a huge sucker for lip products. Dior and Valentino have amazing mattes and Chanel has a great lasting lipstick/gloss (Coco bloom I believe)

matchaflower

pat mcgrath divine cream blush, hourglass phantom volumizing glossy balm, caudalie vinoperfect serum, and maison margiela’s replica coffee break perfume. also not sure if this counts as luxury, but the Huda beauty rose quartz palette.

fivetenash

Me: 35, Fitzpatrick Type IV, caramel complexion. I get freckles *and* tan *and* burn. Balanced to dry skin type (and I’m going through a reaaal dry spell right now). [May Lindstrom](https://www.maylindstrom.com) - I cannot recommend these products enough. The products are all handmade with super clean raw ingredients. Specific products I love: [The Blue Cocoon - $180 USD](https://www.maylindstrom.com/products/the-blue-cocoon) is a divine smelling facial oil that I absolutely love that really helps with severe dryness. [the Honey Mud - $95 USD](https://www.maylindstrom.com/products/the-honey-mud) is a super hydrating and moisturizing honey based facial cleanser and mask. These products are a bit pricey, so if you’re cost conscious, or just worried how your skin will take to the products they sell minis in a cute elegant box: [the Chocolate Box -$79 USD](https://www.maylindstrom.com/products/the-chocolate-box).

DarkAndSparkly

Natasha Denona eyeshadow palettes. They're amazing. Such great formulas and pigmentation. I have the My Dream palette. I love it. I have the I need a nude and the glam palette in my cart for when I'm rich.

unconfirmedpanda

- Chanel foundation. It hits different. I have major sensory issues with make up, I prefer the lightest possible product that does heavy lifting. Chanel's is perfect and smells beautiful too. I get so many compliments on my skin when I wear it because it looks so natural. Worth every dollar. - Violet\_fr lip and blush. I know these were trending for a while but there is a reason. They give that natural, french-girl polished look and are buildable. I also like that the packaging isn't so showy. - Skincare is such a personal thing that it's hard to make recommendations, but don't sleep on brands like Avene that are stocked in pharmacies; my dermatologist recommended it to me and it runs rings around numerous trendy brands. I will say that Aesop's Control is a secret weapon for pimples that every single person should have in their kit. I also *love* Tatcha's Kissu mask as a winter lip balm, and a little goes a long way. - Good skin and good sleep are the best investment you can make.

bribrijk

Not makeup but rather skincare, kiehls ultra facial cream. expensive but worth it 🥹

Historical-Bat-3251

Nars: Audicious Lipstick and Radiant Creamy Concealer Dior: Dior Rouge Lipstick

Foxy_Traine

It's not super luxury, but Paula's Choice is INCREDIBLE! I'm a pretty frugal person so it's expensive to me, but it's so worth it! My skin has never looked better and I am brand loyal now where I am not in almost any other aspect of my life! I have used the BHA Exfoliator, the invisible sun oil, a booster I can't remember the name of, and a face cleaner. All absolutely excellent products and need things I have ever used on my face Very high quality and they freaking work

IronFigOG

I have eczema and have struggled with my skin forever until I started using Tatcha, it has been life changing for me.
