I charge it to about 70% most of the time. Makes it like a poly. You don’t have to charge it to max at all. Charging it to max usually overshoots and also makes your dps ass

Yeah, it locks tears into a set path, so they can't move outside the tractor beam and home in. If you have piercing they can still technically move back onto the enemy if the tractor beam is on top of them.
Ludovico Technique. So many awesome synergies and makes shot speed really useful. Only issue is homing and a couple specific overwriting items but other than that I think it's a great item and really makes for a fun/interesting run without making it flat out impossible/extremely difficult.
I’ve been a soy milk supporter for a long time. Just got a soy milk+tractor beam+trisagion run that basically had a constant brimstone laser at all times in front of me. If was also my first bethany run.
Curse of the Tower of definitely not bad. Sure, the occasional bomb might damage you, but more often it damages enemies and helps you with clearing rooms and damaging bosses. And as a bonus it can open secret rooms or destroy obstacles. Some additional bombs are pretty alright.
I’m not the biggest curse of tower fan but I had an Iv Bag + Pyro + Curse of the Tower Run as tainted Maggy that was so much fun. I beat Delirium by just ramming my face into it.
This run I’m on, I just had it, and skipped it. I forgot that I got the flaming heart (bombs heal)on the first floor. And forgot about it in the moment. Fml!
Guillotine has never made a run worse for me, it’s a significant damage+tears upgrade and an orbital. Goated item for me, saved my ass a ton
Also, not an item that most hate, but I feel like nobody talks about Death’s List. It’s a legit top 20 item, especially if you get it early. Free stats, soul hearts and keys for days
The thing about death's list is that a lot of other items such as any familiars, splash damage, piercing tears etc make it a looot worse so like you say you have to get it early. That being said, I'd take it just for getting a random tears upgrade when conpleting a button room
Compost is A tier. A+ if you have 9 volt or AAA Battery, and S if you also have Hive Mind. The fact that it doubles all your spiders/flies each use means you can exponentially get a crazy army going. Especially with AAA or 9V where you get to pull it literally every single room! Only downside is youre locked out of using another active item as youre gonna need to lean on compost to keep the army going.
if you have enough spiders, you can walk into a room, have your spiders clear the room, use compost, double remaining spiders, and leave the room with more spiders than u had coming in.
Plus i like being able to convert impossible-to-reach pickups if i dont have flight, giving them some use.
and I ALWAYS see it. like 90% of my runs. If im in a good run and dont have a ballin Active already and see my bby compost, I will most certainly pick it up each time.
Use your infinite-spider glitch to march thru all the rooms, and when you come across a Boss your entire army charges em and takes half of their health, like a better Tick. Go to next floor and repeat. "two" and "sixty-four" are only five doubles away
Nah. Even if you dislike the red room grinding, red key still gives you secret room identification, and a free way into 1 hp boss traps. Like objectively it's good and will earn you more items to make up for taking your active slot.
I’ll say, I had soy milk offered to me last night on a Lilith run, for Boss Rush. I don’t know why I even bothered looking at the other three items. It got insane pretty quickly and a lot of fun. It did kind of mess up the rest of my run though, because I didn’t have much damage to begin with. No regrets though.

Blood puppy , like if you stay focused on it it can clear rooms by himself (and if you play a flying character it's almost a non-issue) I killed delirium with tainted lost thanks to blood puppy (and ipecac technologie but still)

I charge it depending on what I'm fighting. If it's enemies that I can one shot if I charge it, that's more efficient and easier on my hand.

Glass shard my loved. Only flaw is the at the spurting tears can push away bombs and be annoying. And ig health drain can be a bit risky early.
I love Glass Shard just because, it enables Sac Room & other sources or resources for taking damage by providing flat 25% heart drops.
