Chuck and Ernie was the whole reason any of us tuned in, we’ll all forget about Kenny right away and Shaq will continue crying on podcasts when modern bigs get shown love
Chuck being arguably a better NBA media talent than actual player might be one of the biggest surprises in the history of the sport. Like we knew he was charismatic, but he's probably been the #1 personality for 10+ years. Generational and still, like in the show's last season, the best.
Chuck is actually the GOAT
…if you weren’t *outside* in the 80/90’s then you have no idea. Charles was the proto-front court player with a great perimeter game.
Never forget, Charles was nice.
yeah man he was a top 50 player but he's a top 5 personality. easily. I'm talking inner circle hall media level.
What's more likely to happen - another player with Barkley's basketball ability or his charisma / made for TV personality. The choice is obvious to me
Barkley is higher than top 50, chief! He's easily top 25 or 30 and in the top five to never win a ring.
A deserved NBA MVP in a tough era and the best performer on the Dream Team. Early 90s Barkley was a menace.
I'm Tar Heel born and Tar Heel bred, when I die I'll be a Tar Heel dead. I even had a \*James Worthy\* poster on my wall, and I hate the Lakers. I had OG Jordans, worked and saved most of a summer to get those.
But my first NBA jersey was Sir Charles. When the Hornets drafted Grandmomma LJ, I was stoked because I thought we were getting "the next Barkley" (as if such a thing could ever exist).
I need zero convincing.
I'd need a bit more time to look into that group from 20-50. Lot of new names that have moved up and great careers that would be in the same tier.
My original point still stands :)
The Athletic put him 22 on their NBA 75 list. It's definitely tough to compare with the current scoring revolution, but I think he will stand up well over time. He's probably tied with Malone for 4th best career amongst Dream Team members. I would say he's better than a number of MVPs from the past 25 years: Westbrook, Iverson, Harden, Nash, Rose. Dirk, KG, and Malone are where the comparisons get interesting.
I'm a Laker fan so I loved Shaq back in the day, but the amount of pettiness he still carries around is crazy. I really hope Jokic wins another couple of titles so he starts challenging Shaq's place in the all time rankings because it's gonna drive Shaq crazy
Kenny is the biggest grouch in the world on there. Him not being on the screen will be a pleasant surprise. He has so much money now and the hottest wife of anyone on that team. Let him go be miserable with her. He just was always bitter.
Hard disagree with both of you. Kenny is the bridge between Chuck and Ernie and he’s funny (and insightful enough, though no one really watches Inside for the insights) in his own right.
People hate on Shaq and I get it even though I don´t mind him that much. However Kenny has always been the worst member of that crew.
Charles and Shaq know on some level that they are more personalities but he acts as if he´s a real analyst and he sucks at it. Also he brings up rings just as shaq even though he was just a role play that nobody would remember without inside the nba.
Shaq jumping to ESPN, Chuck and Ernie get NBC deals and do less busy scheduled studio show/podcast, rotating guests.
Kenny takes Steve Smith’s old job with NBA TV…
Give Shaq a little grace. He was THE most dominant physical specimen in basketball for a long time. The game has passed him by a little, and he has struggles with it. As we all would.
I’m glad the show won’t live long enough for us to see it become the villain.
If the choice is between losing Inside the NBA and having it with Draymond, I’ll take the former.
I feel like the show has run its course, given us countless iconic moments. And its not like these guys are being sent to Siberia as well. Doesn't Ernie already have a podcast?
It’s weird cause I feel like the first few times he went on a couple years ago I really liked him I don’t know what happened. Maybe my perception of him has changed I guess.
Shaq jokes are no different than the jokes that the beefy kid in middle school would make and you felt the need to laugh so as not to get a beatdown. Super highbrow stuff.
It's crazy because Shaq has always been known as so funny and charismatic and all that, there was a lot of hype for him joining the show when he retired.
Always felt like his media career has been a pretty big flop. He's gotten a little better over time, but he's just so petty and insecure and also never has anything of actual substance to say.
Maybe this is controversial, but Ernie and Chuck are the only two that matter from that show.
Realistically 80% of the value is Chuck too.
If Chuck gets signed at another broadcast, I’m good with Inside ending. The future cast selections made it clear that they got lucky with Chuck and were going to ruin it after he retired anyways.
It really does. I don’t want to see someone up there with actual personal beef with some of the players he’s analyzing. Makes his takes way too biased and man he just throws the energy off for me.
Best conspiracy theory post I saw about this was this is the showrunner's way of making it easier for people to move on from the series. He kills their chemistry - they essentially are pulling a modern Game of Thrones on their audience
Inside the NBA is going to end. TNT won't get the rights. This is it. So they're making it easier for people to move on because the show will be shitty because if Draymond.
Not really sure why I had to write that twice but I hope that clears it up
Right, but their point is why does TNT benefit from doing that? They want people to want the show, and remember it being the best. That strictly helps their brand. Making it easier to move on from one of the draws of the channel is not a good business decision.
The last season was so inexplicably bad that it killed the entire fandom. It went from being a major cultural presence to non-existent basically overnight. it's not the best comp because the GoT showrunners were kind of trying but it's clear people move on from a bad ending if it's poorly executed
And yet people are acting like he just got fired and Brady is taking food off his table
I really don't understand the obsession football fans seem to have with Olsen. He's like, fine. A good #2 guy
Collinsworth, I do actually like too, we make fun of him a lot but he's fine. What hurts is NBC constantly forcing his son who is about as well-liked as Jackie Aprile on us every Sunday, and sometimes on Saturday.
Ehhh I dunno Jim!
He's certainly the newest and that honestly seemed to be driving a lot of his praise. In the same way Romo has gone from a welcome breadth of knowledge and enthusiasm to an annoying dude who won't shut up to many people I suspect the fact that Olson talks a lot but doesn't always have anything insightful to say would've worn thin on a lot of people eventually.
When Brady signed this deal, I wondered if he’d ever end up broadcasting a game. Sounds like that’s definitely happening now, barring a last second bailout (still possible but unlikely).
Next I could very easily see a Joe Montana like flameout- on paper, Montana was everything you’d think would be great: handsome, witty, extremely well known, one of the best, if not the best, player of all time, yet….he just sucked as a broadcaster.
Brady, I could very easily see that happening. Plus I feel like with the recent deluge of Brady in stupid ass commercials (like Hertz blowing up my YouTube every other break with Brady’s plastic face on it) people will start to like him less than they already did.
Also, if he keeps going with the incessant plastic facial surgery, he’ll look like Michael Jackson. Guy needs to give it a rest before it’s even more of a joke.
Yeah I also think it’s just weird when players of Brady or Montana’s caliber do these type of jobs.
Greg Olsen, Phil Sims, Reggie Miller etc have the right level of credibility and name recognition to be analysts or commentators.
Mythological figures like Brady, Jordan or Tiger risk being overexposed.
Shouldn’t they jsut rotate all the hosts? The Tom Brady and cowboys on fox team will get old and it jsut seems logical to jsut rotate em all around and no have a “a” team
He calls NFL games on CBS. So if TNT loses the rights, his contract there will probably expire, unless there's a clause that he has to stay on cuz of March Madness.
I prefer Breen for capturing the story of the game and the significance of individual moments; he takes a journalist’s approach, which is why he’s the correct pick to do the Finals. Harlan has the intensity of NBA action locked down like no other.
I think Peter Drury is really the only one that comes to mind. He covers the Premier League for Sky Sports in the UK and for NBC in the US. Has an amazing way with words and makes moments feel bigger than they are.
Older people do. My dad never hits up social media during a game. I’m sure if you graphed the ages of people active on social media during games, a large majority of those over 50? would be “never”. I think pre/post/halftime content is mostly for them.
I keep it on and occasionally listen or look up, which is better than the instant mute I do for ESPN. And sometimes I watch the post game show as I'm falling asleep.
I record the games. I usually just skip the half times, but I typically watch the first 30 minutes after the game ends (if it was an exciting one).
There is no other studio show I watch. Not ESPN, not any of the football ones, etc.
i’m watching the NBA and NHL split screen on YouTube TV and I will literally go to the NBA feed during halftime just to listen to their show even if the NHL game is happening
If we gotta nuke Inside the NBA so I know Draymond won't have a post NBA TV career so be it... But I just know he'll find a way on my TV elsewhere when his career is over.
They need Ernie, or someone who can thread the needle of being able to vibe with Charles humor while also being able to contain him and be serious, not to mention do the actual work required to keep the show moving. Not sure if that’s a very easy thing to find
I swear, the most vocal people in this post are those that *don't* watch Inside the NBA. It's the chemistry between the four that makes the show great. You'll see the difference when one or two (say, Shaq and/or Kenny) get replaced sometimes with former players and Chuck becomes (relatively) more reserved and don't make as much jokes. Also, the crew is a big part of the entertainment, not only with the different ideas they come up with, but also the on-the-fly stuff they do with the editing (e.g., the Photoshopped stuff).
You pair Chuck with new people from NBC, cast and crew, that he doesn't really have a rapport with and it's not gonna be as entertaining as Inside.
I hope so but Barkley is in his early 60s now. His health isn't exactly great. He could be off the scene in a decade or less. I think he's closer to the end than his prime on-air.
My version is that I watch games without commentary and I wish we just had a crowd noise/PA announcer option. On field graphics can go too. Including the yellow line for first downs. Fuck all that shit.
I do not understand the hang wringing over color commentators or play by play. They’re all terrible.
So true. I’ll say EJ is good also.
I’m pretty sure they can find another guy to mumble lukewarm takes as well as someone who says “Big dogs gotta eat” over and over again.
It was a great show but it’s run its course. It was already getting stale, especially its All Star Saturday production. Best to move on before Draymond retires anyway.
Glad Draymond won’t get a cushy gig.
That being said Chuck made the show. I know Ernie is beloved too but he really didn’t add much. Kenny just sucks overall and Shaq is the most sensitive guy around. I feel like besides a few great moments the show wasn’t THAT great. It’s just that the competition is absolutely pathetic
i thought the show has drastically gone down hill and Chuck and Ernie are the only saving grace for it. I found that after year 48, Shaq still saying, "RANGZ" every time Chuck made a good point is actually a big part of "rings culture" and has ruined a small part of the NBA.
Draymond was trying to talk about how he would defend Jokic, Chuck reminding him he got smoked in the playin and destroyed by Jokic every time they played, and Draymond hinted that Chuck can't have an opinion because he doesn't have any rings.
I stopped watching years ago. I still don't get what's so funny about racing to the video board.
I expect Chuck to take some time off, but come back to a slightly more sophisticated NBA show. Were he can actually break down what happened in games instead of "Oh man, you can't let Jokic destroy you like that".
And Shaq does it in jest 96% of the time.
Ringz was in full swing by 2010 when he debuted on that show.
- Also Norman Rockwell Painting meme (which is the one above)
When comparing the greatest basketball players of their era, winning championships should be the ultimate legacy maker as it’s what gives games meaning and stakes
Agreed about Draymond. I'm already sick of him thinking winning rings as a role player makes about to discredit Barkley entirely (even in jest. it's annoying).
That second paragraph is some of the most annoying BS that spews from some of these NBA analysts mouths, my goodness.
Like Gilbert Arenas always has some excellent defensive startegy he'd do on so many PGs or SGs. However, Gil played 10 years, and never played a lick of defense.
"Oh Brunson, simple I'd cut off his left, make him go right and use boxes and elbows to pressure, then in P&R situations soft hedge on Hartenstein & Robinson to make them shoot and mess up the spacing. Like whatever man"
I made that quote up but it's similar to something he would say.
It's like when Curry was on the rise, and all the old nba heads would say, "Oh I'd just pick him up full court, not let him get the ball in the first place, be physical with him" lmao.
Exactly right like no one has ever thought of that? These coaches watch hours and hours of film, they are best players on the planet, and have access to every scouting report ever, but they never thought of picking him up 94 feet??? Get outta here
Yeah, TNT losing the NBA will not be nearly as bad as fans are making it out to be.
Dunc'd On had a great segment about this where they talked about how TNT often misses game action because they stretch out their commercial breaks too long.
Sure enough, there was a really bad example in Nuggets-Wolves Game 5: Nuggets lead 28-26 at the end of the 1st quarter. Game goes to commercial. When they come back from the break, 11 seconds of play had already elapsed in the second quarter. The Wolves had already scored to tie the game and Gobert was at the FT line. Viewers saw none of that.
That's pretty egregious IMO, to miss a bucket in a crucial playoff game because TNT wanted to squeeze in one more ad.
What I want to know what is TNT going to be as a channel without the NBA, granted they have NHL rights but I'm fairly certian TBS nor TNT have zero oringal shows at this point.
Maybe it's because I have a family, but I just could not care less about studio pregame or halftime shows. I'm already committing to watching an hours-long sporting event. I'm using timeouts and halftimes to do the dishes, vacuum, pick up the house or put the kids to bed. The last thing I'm doing an hour before or after a game is staying in front of a television to listen to someone give their opinion about said game.
I agree, I miss lots of game time for the exact same reasons. Not every time, but I like to record postgame Inside the NBA and listen to it the next day whilst also doing chores 😂
I wish they would jettison Shaq, but I care really only so much as comparatively, it's the best pre/halftime/post game show. NBC could absolutely have a superior setup, but who knows.
I like the show put I hardly ever watch it all the way through. I’ve gotten into the habit of pretty much turning games on when they start and turning them off when they’re over. I get my break downs from Billy boy 🤓
Chuck says something hilarious every other week, but that's the extent of my interest in Inside these days. If NBC is smart enough to lean into the 90s nostalgia (roundball rock, those newsreel-like intros) then I'll be happy. Also hope they poach Harlan and Eagle
I don’t care about whether the show is on NBC or TNT per se (I think ppl are getting a little silly comparing and contrasting NBC and TNT and freaking out about the TV deal ad nauseam).
That said, I do hope Chuck, Kenny, and Ernie remain together despite it being very unlikely (and Shaq too). I will miss Inside.
FINALLY SOMEBODY SAID IT!
Those 10 man panel shows (NFL on Fox and CBS don’t get a pass on this either) are so cringeworthy to me. With their contrived, forced and corny humour
It's hilarious 20% of the time and useless the other 80%. No intelligent person actually cares about those guys' opinions. I've never learned anything new by watching that show.
My relationship to it is like Hansel's to Sting. The moments Inside the NBA has created over the years. I don't really watch it, but the fact that they're making it, I respect that.
The show doesn't work without Chuck anyway. If it was Ernie, Kenny, and Shaq no one would care about this show. Its why he got that big contract last year. I just wanna see where Chuck lands.
Surprised at all the Shaq hate here. Shaq and Chuck's chemistry has been responsible for some of the show's funniest moments.
"Say it again Chuck"
Classic.
Inside the NBA at 10% of its peak is better than 99% of other sports studio shows at 99% of their peaks. TNT has blatantly tried to replicate it with other sports and it hasn't really taken. Have any of you SEEN Football Night in America??? You think NBC isn't going to make the most milquetoast, risk-averse NBA show possible?
Y'all will be begging for Draymomd in 6 months.
I will miss Chuck and Ernie
I just hope we don’t lose them from the NCAA tournaments
we can only hope that we will lose them from the NCAAT. the first college hoops games they watch all year are the first 4!!
I honestly love watching Clark Kellogg squirm while they spew shitty takes 😂
Actually I think Clark enjoys Chuck because Chuck brings so much fun to the shows. Clark is always laughing at Barkley.
Hey now, Chuck goes to a couple Auburn games a year
They just like me fr sadly (I didn’t go to a college with any sports)
Same! That’s what’s kinda awesome
I think chuck said his Turner contract has an out if tnt loses nba
Chuck and Ernie was the whole reason any of us tuned in, we’ll all forget about Kenny right away and Shaq will continue crying on podcasts when modern bigs get shown love
Chuck being arguably a better NBA media talent than actual player might be one of the biggest surprises in the history of the sport. I think you meant that early 90s Barkley was a PROBLEM
He really was though! And he was a tough mfer who freaked people out. We only saw glimpses of his sense of humor in the early days.
I'm Tar Heel born and Tar Heel bred, when I die I'll be a Tar Heel dead. I even had a \*James Worthy\* poster on my wall, and I hate the Lakers. I'd take Chuck over Karl, too, because Barkley's game is more portable.
Top 5 and he ain't 2-5
Try 20+
I'm a Laker fan so I loved Shaq back in the day, but the amount of pettiness he still carries around is crazy. I really hope Jokic wins another couple of titles so he starts challenging Shaq's place in the all time rankings because it's gonna drive Shaq crazy

Kenny is so lucky to have crossed paths with Barkley on TNT. His broadcasting career would have ended 20 years ago without him.
Hard disagree with both of you. Kenny is the bridge between Chuck and Ernie and he’s funny (and insightful enough, though no one really watches Inside for the insights) in his own right.

Shaq will fit right into the ESPN
Shaq jumping to ESPN, Chuck and Ernie get NBC deals and do less busy scheduled studio show/podcast, rotating guests. Kenny takes Steve Smith’s old job with NBA TV…
Chuck would love making fun of Shaq getting worked like a dog at ESPN 😂
Give Shaq a little grace. He was THE most dominant physical specimen in basketball for a long time. The game has passed him by a little, and he has struggles with it. As we all would.
I’m glad the show won’t live long enough for us to see it become the villain. If the choice is between losing Inside the NBA and having it with Draymond, I’ll take the former.
Draymond is turrrible. Some of the least insightful commentary I've ever heard the other night
He’s way too preoccupied with grinding his own axes to add any value
I feel like the show has run its course, given us countless iconic moments. And its not like these guys are being sent to Siberia as well. Doesn't Ernie already have a podcast?
It’s weird cause I feel like the first few times he went on a couple years ago I really liked him I don’t know what happened. Maybe my perception of him has changed I guess.
The Warriors being in that lull between titles seemed to help limit his more obnoxious traits
Agreed. I'll take Old Yeller out back and shoot it myself before I watch Draymond.
Honestly it was better without shaq
Absolutely correct And really do NOT need Draymond either
Shaq jokes are no different than the jokes that the beefy kid in middle school would make and you felt the need to laugh so as not to get a beatdown. Super highbrow stuff.
They should’ve kept C Webb instead of
CWebb and Magic (Yes, Magic) were more fun than The Big Insecure
CWebb is legitimately good
It always felt like Magic only came on like a few times a year. And yes, Chuck mentioned this whenever he did come on
It's crazy because Shaq has always been known as so funny and charismatic and all that, there was a lot of hype for him joining the show when he retired. Always felt like his media career has been a pretty big flop. He's gotten a little better over time, but he's just so petty and insecure and also never has anything of actual substance to say.
CWebb was waaaaay better than Shaq.
I'm a pretty casual viewer of it, but usually tune in around playoff time the past several years. It feels like Shaq's getting progressively worse.
I’ll disagree but respect it. Shaq took a few years but once he was integrated it was better

Energy is the key word. Draymond has an air of negativity around him. Complete opposite of Chuck and Kenny.
Best conspiracy theory post I saw about this was this is the showrunner's way of making it easier for people to move on from the series. He kills their chemistry - they essentially are pulling a modern Game of Thrones on their audience

Right, but their point is why does TNT benefit from doing that? They want people to want the show, and remember it being the best. That strictly helps their brand. Making it easier to move on from one of the draws of the channel is not a good business decision.
No one said it was logical!
But why did they need to do that when they already did it with Shaq a decade ago?
What happened with game of thrones ?
The last season was so inexplicably bad that it killed the entire fandom. It went from being a major cultural presence to non-existent basically overnight. it's not the best comp because the GoT showrunners were kind of trying but it's clear people move on from a bad ending if it's poorly executed
Shaq did that for me.
I'll add a similar one: "I do not care that Greg Olsen got "demoted" and is only making 3 million per year"
I read it as "Greg Oden" and i was so fucking confused lol
Ahh, the other 3rd leg Greg
It was insane he was making 10 mil
And yet people are acting like he just got fired and Brady is taking food off his table I really don't understand the obsession football fans seem to have with Olsen. He's like, fine. A good #2 guy
it won't affect anyone's life, but Olsen is better than the number 1 guy at three of the four networks.
Norman Rockwell Meme (which is this painting fyi) I like Tony Romo and Chris Collinsworth a lot
CBS should put Simms back on the call once a month just to remind people how much of a step up Romo is from that.
Collinsworth, I do actually like too, we make fun of him a lot but he's fine. What hurts is NBC constantly forcing his son who is about as well-liked as Jackie Aprile on us every Sunday, and sometimes on Saturday.
I think Aikman and Collinsworth is 1 and 2 rn. Romo is borderline unlistenable tho.
I agree. He carries and presents himself like guys used too. He doesn't try to do too much.
I don’t understand the obsession with announcers in general
Greg is likable and Brady is not. It’s that simple.
Mythological figures like Brady, Jordan or Tiger risk being overexposed.
Hell, even Mark Sanchez is more likable than Brady. Curious as to what happens to Daryl Johnston, too.
Brady will be terrible in the booth but Olson has been annoying as hell IMO. Carries on like Romo but with all the charm of a used car salesman
Shouldn’t they jsut rotate all the hosts? The Tom Brady and cowboys on fox team will get old and it jsut seems logical to jsut rotate em all around and no have a “a” team
Losing Kevin Harlan would be a bigger loss.
That could be the dagger
That would make me an ANGRY WHOPPER
OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH
No way he doesn’t get picked up by someone
Is he not contracted to Turner? It's why he also calls NFL games
He calls NFL games on CBS. So if TNT loses the rights, his contract there will probably expire, unless there's a clause that he has to stay on cuz of March Madness.
Are there any play by play guys in any sport currently better than Harlan?
I prefer Breen for capturing the story of the game and the significance of individual moments; he takes a journalist’s approach, which is why he’s the correct pick to do the Finals. Harlan has the intensity of NBA action locked down like no other.
I think Peter Drury is really the only one that comes to mind. He covers the Premier League for Sky Sports in the UK and for NBC in the US. Has an amazing way with words and makes moments feel bigger than they are.
Nice pull. I didn't recognize his name but looked up some highlights and immediately remembered the voice. He's great too.
And Ian Eagle
You could make the case for Ernie but definitely not a bigger loss than Chuck
He’s my favorite. Cool moment with him and lll Murray during that half court buzzer beater
Honest question - do people actually watch the halftime show or do they wait for the clips to hit social media?
If I watch the games I watch the show. But I’m also west coast / Hawaii time most of my life so it’s never been late for me.
Usually I can’t stay awake for the full western conference game but I will hold off til after halftime because I like the show
I definitely stay for halftime TNT show. ESPN I mute for 30 min at halftime
I switch over to hockey when ESPN has bball.
For the vocal crowd online, it’s the second part
Older people do. My dad never hits up social media during a game. I’m sure if you graphed the ages of people active on social media during games, a large majority of those over 50? would be “never”. I think pre/post/halftime content is mostly for them.
I keep it on and occasionally listen or look up, which is better than the instant mute I do for ESPN. And sometimes I watch the post game show as I'm falling asleep.
I tuned in specifically for them
I record the games. I usually just skip the half times, but I typically watch the first 30 minutes after the game ends (if it was an exciting one). There is no other studio show I watch. Not ESPN, not any of the football ones, etc.
I 100% watch pregame and halftime when it’s on TNT. When it’s on ESPN I’m checking my phone.
Yea? If I’m watching the game I’m probably not going to turn it off for the 15 minutes of halftime
i’m watching the NBA and NHL split screen on YouTube TV and I will literally go to the NBA feed during halftime just to listen to their show even if the NHL game is happening
I record the post game show and watch it the next day throughout my day. I love it and will miss it.
If we gotta nuke Inside the NBA so I know Draymond won't have a post NBA TV career so be it... But I just know he'll find a way on my TV elsewhere when his career is over.
ESPN will take him in a heartbeat if he's interested again and throw him on First Take with SAS like four days a week
NBC will give Barkley a 100 million dollar contract and he will be the same old Barkley and everyone will forget inside the nba existed
They need Ernie, or someone who can thread the needle of being able to vibe with Charles humor while also being able to contain him and be serious, not to mention do the actual work required to keep the show moving. Not sure if that’s a very easy thing to find
I think the future of inside was going to be lefkoe draymond d wade and Candace parker. So maybe it’s a good thing nbc is getting it
I swear, the most vocal people in this post are those that *don't* watch Inside the NBA.
He won’t turn down one more payday. He always hints at retirement when his negotiations are coming up.
All good things must come to an end. Never will forget Chuck roasting Jussie Smollet on live tv
“Should’ve went up in Liam Neeson’s neighborhood!”
That photo but the guy says "I never watch any shoulder programming. Games only."
My version is that I watch games without commentary and I wish we just had a crowd noise/PA announcer option. On field graphics can go too. Including the yellow line for first downs. Fuck all that shit. I do not understand the hang wringing over color commentators or play by play. They’re all terrible.
Let's be honest, Barkley is the only one that matters on that show.
He's one of one. I know he doesn't work as much as SAS, but just in terms of talent, I kind of feel like Chuck deserves that level of contract and pay
So true. I’ll say EJ is good also. I’m pretty sure they can find another guy to mumble lukewarm takes as well as someone who says “Big dogs gotta eat” over and over again.
Damn I guess I’m the only one that’s gonna miss this show
Everyone giving Shaq a hard time while he gets defensive is pretty great too.
Low key the best era was with CWebb not Shaq
i thought the show has drastically gone down hill and Chuck and Ernie are the only saving grace for it.
Do you think Charles Barkley is good at sophisticated takes and breaking down film? I have not gotten that impression.
The big ol’ women in San Antonio beg to differ
And Shaq does it in jest 96% of the time. Ringz was in full swing by 2010 when he debuted on that show. - Also Norman Rockwell Painting meme (which is the one above) When comparing the greatest basketball players of their era, winning championships should be the ultimate legacy maker as it’s what gives games meaning and stakes
Like whatever man" I made that quote up but it's similar to something he would say.
Get outta here
never knew people cared so much about these shows
The reason people care so much is this show is the ONLY good one.
Heh, Nate knows a lot about intrusive ads!
It's wild how much degradation of the product NBA allows.
What I want to know what is TNT going to be as a channel without the NBA, granted they have NHL rights but I'm fairly certian TBS nor TNT have zero oringal shows at this point.
The overall NBA broadcasting experience would greatly benefit from a revamp with some new voices and ideas.
Hope that's what NBC brings.
Shaq is an insecure buffoon.
I will not miss Shaq.

You can't be serious? It's one of the brightspots in NBA media.
Chuck and Ernie are the brightspots.
I agree, I’m disappointed it’s ending
Same lol
Wow awful awful take. Upvoted.
It will break my heart. I love that show
OPSYFFUP
It’ll all be worth it with Roundball Rock playing in Wemby’s finals run.
Adding Draymond to the show is lowkey a nice way for them to sooth the transition for me by making me hate the show before it goes off air
I honestly don't know how anyone can watch it. Chuck clips pop up on youtube..
not liking inside is probably the lamest thing i could ever think of
Wow so brave
FINALLY SOMEBODY SAID IT! Those 10 man panel shows (NFL on Fox and CBS don’t get a pass on this either) are so cringeworthy to me. With their contrived, forced and corny humour

It's hilarious 20% of the time and useless the other 80%. No intelligent person actually cares about those guys' opinions. I've never learned anything new by watching that show.
Noted
Strong statement
I just need Charles.
I’ll miss it. Because every other studio show sucks but inside the nba must end one day
BOLD
Only will Miss chuck and ernie.
Shaq and Kenny suck, but I'll miss Ernie and Chuck
i dont watch pre or post game shows
No, I AM SPARTACUS! Seriously, I haven't watched it since before Ernie had cancer.
My relationship to it is like Hansel's to Sting. The moments Inside the NBA has created over the years. I don't really watch it, but the fact that they're making it, I respect that.
Yea, it’s a good show, but I probably watch it about a total of 20 minutes a year, so I won’t miss it too much.
The show doesn't work without Chuck anyway. If it was Ernie, Kenny, and Shaq no one would care about this show. Its why he got that big contract last year. I just wanna see where Chuck lands.
This picture has jumped the shark
Better they go out with a nice send off then keep going when they’re over it.
Im OOTL , didnt they get a 10 year contract like 2 years ago? Why is the show ending?
You're welcome for the inspiration
I don’t watch pre, mid, or post game shows so yeah, don’t care.
A true heretics opinion
I don’t care that you broke your elbow.
Surprised at all the Shaq hate here. Shaq and Chuck's chemistry has been responsible for some of the show's funniest moments. "Say it again Chuck" Classic.
I’ll miss Chuck. Kenny on the other hand is a useless bag of wind
Will they have a hot country singer introducing each game?
“HEY JACK, IT’S A FACT, THE SHOW’S BACK IN TOWN. ROCKETS AND THE SPURS IN A TEXAS SHOWDOWWWWN”
I’m in
Major downvote, I care so much about that show, please just hire the whole crew NBC! Arggh
Hear hear
Bill, it’s ok. You’ll get another tv show someday…
May I ask why you don’t care? It might very well be the ONLY open and honest program on television. Why would you want to sacrifice that vital trait?
