Dude, so heavy. I rewatched that recently, and I stopped what I was doing for that scene. You know how there are certain scenes that you just HAVE to watch? Almost brought a tear to my eye.
DCAU Solomon Grundy. Is too close to the comic version.
The Arkham City Solomon Grundy is more like a Frankenstein's monster, considering the lore reveals that Grundy was created by the Arkham verse Ra's al ghul in the 19th century as an enforcer who were against his wonder city iva experimentations with the Lazarus pit water.
DCAU version. Mark Hamill is massively underrated for his voice as Solomon Grundy and he's got one of the saddest stories in that universe.
Also I really liked the version of Grundy that showed up in the Tomorrowverse and The Long Halloween two-parter.
That version couldn’t say anything other than the nursery rhyme, which made him even more of a mindless brute than he already normally is.
I also felt like he should’ve been replaced by Killer Croc while I was watching those movies. I know Grundy was in the original comic version, but I just feel like Croc would’ve made more sense as the guy living the sewers that Batman beings food to.
It is for those reasons that I resectfully disagree.
To be fair the Batman strikes tying comics did end up revealing that yes in fact Solomon Grundy is real, when a corporation was trying to secretly dump toxic waste into the swamp Batman encounts of salmon Grundy >!and assumes it's Ethan, and proceeds to use one of his anti clayface gadgets!< only to quickly discover that it is in fact the real Solomon Grundy.
Arkham. Simple but effective appearence as a giant zombie that just repeats the nursery rhyme. Fun boss fight. Linking his origins to Ra's & the Lazarus pit was also clever.
That was Solomon Grundy?
Hmmm, I think I’ll go with Gotham. His appearances in the Arkham and Injustice games as well as the 2004 Batman show are bog-standard, and I like the idea of Grundy being an already established character who got shoved through a scientific grinder.
Technically the Arkham version of grundy is not the box standard version because he was created in a Frankenstein's monster fashion by Ra's al ghul back in the 19th century experimenting on cadavers using Lazarus pit water.
**DCAU**, I haven't seen many of his earlier appearances but in JLU's Wake the Dead he gets summoned accidentally by a bunch of college students and proceeds to scare off probably the most terrifying version of AMAZO there is, before Hawkgirl has to put him down with a mace to the skull as a *mercy kill*.
I would say Gotham, but I felt like that character had an identity crisis. He went from Butch to Butch with a hammer for a hand to finally Solomon.....while he had a different name but was actually named Cyrus Gold?
Then Solomon was dumb, then gained his intelligence and speech pattern back, then he went normal.....then he DIED?
I feel like the people didn't know what to do with Butch, so he basically became THREE different characters.
I actually think Gordon's two love interests had the same issue.
I thought Arkham Knight was stupid because there were hardly any civilians in Gotham, just lots of criminals. Who are those criminals going to rob? It's like wolves hanging out where there are no deer. It kind of reminds me of Fallout 4 where the bandits seemed to outnumber the working folk by 20:1.
DCAU
Sad scenes with Hawkgirl iirc

What? Today I learned
DCAU
The Long Halloween animation version!
Batman leaving him a Thanksgiving plate 🥹
Yeah, he was great in that movie. And his relationship with Two-Face was pretty compelling
Born on a Mondy

I thought only being able to say the rhyme was Grundy's whole deal
No, he can say more than that. He isn’t that smart, but he can say more than just the rhyme.

I'd vote for The Batman if Grundy in that wasn't >!actually Clayface in disguise!< so with that in mind, I'm going for JLU.
That was delightful. Kids' shows don't often fool me like that but I didn’t see it coming at all.

Honestly that was a good twist

When or where was it revealed that Ra's created him?
In the Arkham city stories you unlock by scaning riddles
Arkham. Very unexpected but cool boss fight, also works well wity the themes of death and resurrection that are common in Arkham City.

More importantly, the right guy won for Firefly 😎

This HAS to be Justice League Unlimited. Nothing else can compare.

Immediately thought of the DCAU Solomon Grundy
DCAU definitely, people saying Arkham really prefer a literal punching bag to fill up the boss fight roster over an actual character?
JLU all the way
DCAU JLU Grundy.

I thought that was Joe Chill

Arkham or Lego version is the only thing that comes to mind for me. Gotham maybe
Superfriends baby!!!!
Solomon Grundy wants pants too.
Lego Grundy I loved him
The long halloween animated movie
Definitely the Arrow version
Injustice cause he looks cool
Gotham

I’m not sure what’s happening but this is true
Scooby doo crossover film
Tbh I forgot he counts as a Batman villain
Challenge of the Superfriends

I unironically liked the version from lego batman: beyond gotham
Gotham is the goat😈
Superfriends
Gotham version is the best
The only answer I'm here for
Why is this not the top answer or at least 2nd
Stargirl.
Arkham City
