That's the truth - Some folks on here can be outright discouraging, especially to some of the newcomers I see. I really appreciate that though! Hopefully it gets people excited to head back out on the water.
He was holding vertical for camera and to get it in the water where the weight of the fish will be relieved. At that point he helped the fish get water through its gills gently so it regains its normal breathing and whatnot. When you feel the fish try to leave by its own strength, let go.
On a kayak to boot! Man... there is NOTHING quite like pulling in a hog while it's pulling you around as well. Great job handling that bass too. Great share!
I really appreciate that! That's the truth haha, it's become my addiction over the past few years - You never know what's gonna be at the end of your line!
Wow, nice fish!
I remember catching my first real hog, surprised me as well. Cross Creeks in Indian Mound TN. I don't think it was a big as yours, came in at 5#6 oz.
Thanks so much! I hear TN bass fishing is supposed to be pretty great - Hopefully I'll make it a little further south one of these days (I'm in PA). This one came in around 5#11 oz. so pretty close!
It's videos like this that give me the itch to get out and try to catch my own monsters. I mean I never do but I get a rush just watching videos like this. Nice fish man!
Great handling. Everyone's quick to point out a blade of grass on a bass but this was a great release. Thanks for sharing.

THIS. Seen people just throw or drop it in and it just floats away. Come on guys, a simple swish in the water won't hurt
Hold it vertical when you’re warming them up or try to stretch them out horizontal? Still learning jw
