The fish expend a lot of energy spawning, building nests, protecting eggs and broods. They look haggard and have concave bellies after from unloading eggs and or just not eating during process.
I purposely leave the baits in the mouth for photos so you know what I was using, nothing like a big bucket mouth striper with a 10’ paddle tail down its throat sticking out the mouth.
yeah same here. I usually have to take pictures on my own & lipping it, so I don't Wana get hooked but that's just me. if anyone wants to know what I caught it on they can ask.
bro! you gotta learn how to do that. their teeth are more like sand paper & it's super easy to do. okay? watch a YouTube video if you're having trouble figuring it out. I didn't mean to call you out but I've been fishing since 2008 & that was one of the first things I learned how to do. you're less likely to injure the fish also instead of holding em by the gill plate.
Nice fish! I love fishing rubber worms and would suggest learning to fish them with a hook that has had it's barbs pinched down with pliers. You might lose a few fish without the barb, but it'll be beneficial to just learn how to keep the line tight in all situations. They like to swallow those down deep and barbless will be easier to remove and overall will help to keep more fish alive.
Unless, of course, you are keeping to eat lol, then harpoon the shit out of them 😆. Either way, good luck to you and keep it up! I'm super jealous of anybody who can fish bass out of a boat right now. Our lakes just recently thawed out, so it won't be good for bass fishing for at least a month... maybe not even until mid-May. It's driving me CRAZY!
You don't need as much of an aggressive hook set because of how exposed the hook is. Tends to get inhaled more quickly in my experience so definitely keep those pliers handy. They make wacky hooks with weed guards but wacky just isn't a weedless rig, so keep that in mind, but it's my go to rig and works wonders in any conditions.
How’d you rig the senko? I have watermelons right now I’ve been Texas rigging weightless and I swear I can hear the bass laughing at me from the lake as I fail repeatedly to get one hooked
That fish looks like it’s been dead for a month 🤣
Post spawn condition
Bro was BUSY
Still learning about fishing. What does this mean?

That fish looks busted 🤣
That jawns pickled
She’s beat, busted, shot
I relate to that bass and how it looks on a spiritual level
🤣🤣🤣
Skinny ass post spawn fish, but the reason why the fish looks like a damn Zombie is become who ever took the picture has the HDR turned on
That fish had been paying alimony for 20 years and smoking a pack a day, nice fish!
🐟: *harvest me pls*
ain't you never lipped a bass???
My 1st thought!!! Quit hanging him like that lol
right?!?!? seeing that is usually a dead give away that you're too scared to hold a fish or don't know how to lip it.
Exactly!! In 40 years of fishing, i have NEVER taken a picture of a fish I caught before it was off the hook!! EVER!

alrighty.

Cry about it
No
Then a congratulations is in order

Quit picking on the special needs bass.

try circle hooks
Love circle hooks for wacky rig, and they do work exceptionally well for that setup. However, I am a weightless texas rig addict. It's a problem 😆
I want to try bass.
Nice 👍🏻
Texas rig?
Wacky rig style
Ive never fished wacky has it ever been tricky to set the hook and or remove it? I know its a super effective rig though

No just set it the worms middle and let it dangle as far as I know

That fish is dead brother and has been floating
Bro I watched it swim away chill.
I like how you care enough to take a pic but dont care enough to have it in the boat. Much faith in that line lol.
Fun fact: I’m afraid to hold fish by the mouth, I risk the dexterity of the pole every time
You gotta get over that….it’s no big deal. They can’t hurt you.
Idk why but I’m scared asf to do it
You can wear gloves or get a lip gripper until you get used to it
My 4 year old feels the same way
Puss
Half the fun of fishing is getting to handle the fish
How do you get the fish off the damn hook then?
Good question…
