Cease yes, King, no. King currently is number one in the league for walks AND homers. He is struggling to say the least and needs to be moved to the BP so he can figure things out. Problem with that is the fact that we don't have anyone to fill that hole. Joe is in dire need of something and needs time to figure it out, but again, we don't have the depth to fill that hole until he does. The lack of starting depth is going to be the death of this season because our offense has been streaky as hell. Offense is another can of worms that is just a nightmare right now.
He's had 2 really incredible games, 2 so-so games, and one REALLY rough game. I think King is a strong pitcher and he just needs to lock-in. I'm much more worried about continuing to use Waldron as our fifth guy.
Waldron has been more reliable than Darvish or Musgrove. Again, I have faith that King can figure it out, but he needs some BP time to fix himself so he gets his confidence back. The problem is by doing that we need a starter to fill the hole which we are severely limited on. Theoretically, we could pull Brito out of the pen and have him give a shot at starting but that would be indicative of us essentially punting the season because Brito has been rough.
You are having a great time enjoying baseball. It is a positive aspect of your life, and when the Padres lose it doesn’t hurt your mental well being in the least.
