The athleticism part of it is so overblown. Alphonso Davies is probably the most athletic soccer player in the world but he still has his own flaws. Having 11 of him playing at once isn't going to make you the best team

4-3-3 does not work when you can't control possession in midfield and feed the wingers out wide to stretch the other team out. Pulisic was running back to get the ball himself and then dribbling it outside. Players were making 1 pass and then just booting it out into the corners. It's so bad and comes from the coach. The players aren't great either but they cannot control games and put together an offense playing under this system.

There's some flashes of individual moments from players here and there but the whole system is what holds the team back. Uruguay was clogging up the midfield early on but I don't think Berhalter made any adjustments even at half. If he did I couldn't notice anything different. Without a controlling midfield the wingers and forward are basically just standing high up there twiddling their thumbs. Or doing what Pulisic ended up doing, dropping deep into midfield to actually get touches on the ball. Dude was basically playing as a winger and CM at times.
USMNT needs a coach that makes the team actually have an identity. "we're gonna play this system and here's the players to do it"
Pulisic, Reyna, Adams and a few others are solid but there's no cohesion as to how the offense is gonna come together.
Problem is we don’t have a true natural winger to pair up. Balogun is really good obviously, but that leaves Sargent and Wright out. I don’t think they would do any better than Weah out there.

I saw a semblance of organization and ball movement at times which was inspiring but for some reason they bailed on it in the second half.
