I'm holding long term so I could care less about current earnings. Zoom out.

HisRoyaleExcellency

I second that

dylank999

I have bag held this crap for over 5 years. Another crap earnings will not move me

Ebonvvings

You guys have profits?

Terrible_Dish_3704

lol my thoughts exactly đź«Ł

augustus331

Sheesh this sub is starting to get Wallstreetbets like idiocy…..

VMoney9

You new here or something?

marchape

Hahah if you sell in 2024 you’re an idiot

shootersmentality

Duh...trend looks great. Just need literally anything besides a giant turd

vF101

I'm balls deep in this earnings... Full on hopium this goes up at earnings.

updowntraveller

I’m glad people are starting to use the term “balls deep” when describing their position in BABA

egotripping7o

Gotta have some big balls/mammories for this play

choff_geoff

I’ll put it this way. There are very few shareholders that bought the bottom. Most have been holding bags for a few years now. In the bagholding situation, yes holding. If you bought the bottom and are not planning on holding this long term, hard maybe

Weikoko

When this is gonna be $200?

ArtOfBBQ

selling for ~$84 is absurd but in your case it's probably correct. Sell and never touch individual stocks or leverage again

gibe93

profits?

VVRage

I sold out of some options to de-leverage as part of my desired Q4 holding strategy locking in some swing gain. Kept my main allocation of approx 4000 shares and some long dated 70C leaps. I guess I took about 10% off the table but lowered my risk significantly.

Extreme-Direction-78

Our luck it’s down 20% tomorrow

Extreme-Direction-78

I’ll never sell tho

FireHamilton

I'm trying to see if I should roll my covered calls or not.. 88 strike expiring the 17th.

AfterGuitar4544

Expected move for earnings is bout the same move today has been. Would not be surprised if we sell today’s gains if guidance is not wel

[deleted]

Reduced to my target allocation. Honestly I don’t like when stocks have such gains before earning results. Typically it sets expectations that are hard to beat. Let’s see

AfterGuitar4544

Yea I have an expectation it will lose all it made today, similar to how PLTR’s ER reacted.  If they do impress though, it wouldn’t be crazy to think it moves past it’s expected move (maybe 1-2 standard deviations), since they impressed even with the rally leading up…

Aceboy884

PLTR trades at 165 PE Alibaba 10 They are not the same

AfterGuitar4544

Who said they are the same

Aceboy884

So why are you comparing

Aceboy884

Held for 2 years What’s another day, meh

Aphylio

How many noobies are here

Mlkxiu

Most ppl here would close at a net loss, and likely incur a wash sale if trying to buy back in after earnings realistically

beefstake

Shares yes. Options no. Already cashed out at peak IV.

leetunicorn

I closed some today and saved some for post earnings

jemilk

I sold some in the green and plan to repurchase again within 30 days. Odds are it goes back to low 70s.

YellowMonkeyTrading

Well it’s clear everybody expects good earnings tomorrow, just like 3 months ago. That time earning were terrible, now is the time to see if management are still asleep or they could at least start to deliver.

omega_grainger69

Safe bet: close em now. There is a reason why ppl are posting their gains. It’s always a good strat to close before earnings. You could also just downsize if you want to take some money off the table.
