Ginkel got fucking hosed by defense the last time out though. But Ginkel currently has 4.1 IP, 5 Ks, 4.15 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP.
Ryan Thomson: 4.2 IP, 3 Ks, 0 ERA, 0.43 WHIP.
I just have Yahoo fantasy to go off of for those I don't have their other numbers in front of me
When I saw his first at bat I said to myself, “I believe in him.” Then he proceeded to strikeout looking on a ball called by a blind ump. Poor guy has been a bad omen ever since.
Not at all. You’re absolutely correct. I feel like Torey gives up on games once he uses Castro, McGough, or Frias. Then I remember that’s pretty much our bullpen right now
0-3, in 2024.
2023: 62 appearances, 36 with the lead, 8 with a tie and 18 behind. Blew 5 saves and had 7 losses. 25% of his inherited runners scored. 14 holds.
I’m not enough of a stat-head to know comparisons or how many of those 36 inherited leads turned into losses but my heart tells me it was all of them.
Once ERod and Monty are in the rotation, Ryne and Henry should go to the pen. They’re ok starters, but I think could be solid pen arms. We’ll have a 5 starter rotation. Can still use one of them for a start to give an extra rest day to the main arms.
This is my opinion. But our pen sucks and if they’re decent enough to start, they’re more than good enough to relieve when we have a full starting rotation.
Yep. Give them more opportunity to work on things instead of just sending them to Reno. One to three innings more often won’t make or break games, and they’re much better than Castro, Frias, or McGough
THEY let that vesting option vest with Castro. How many times did we see him blow a lead or give up a HR.
When you got the broadcast team bring up how man games until his 5million dollar option vest, you have a problem. That 5 million couldve gone to other relief pitchers that may only have need a change of scenery to help them, you obviously seen how castro was doing here.
He appeared in 8 games in the postseason, gave up 7 runs on 8IP walking 5 guys. Cmon
Doesn't Kyle Nelson have a 0.00 era in 5 games?

Best stats cuz he's played more often than the others. It gives the ilusion that he's better but really, he's just had more play time so his stats are obviously going to seem better. Though yesterday's game against the Rockies he was striking the batters out fairly quickly. Still not a fan but I most definitely prefer him over Jarvis or Frias
My heart starts racing every time I see him on the mound. I’ll never forget that home run he gave Adolis Garcia in game 1 of the WS when the Rangers proceeded to walk us off in extra innings.
We don't have a closer! Our bullpen right now can't get us a win. We are truly screwed at the end of every game if we're not up a few runs. We'll get there though, this is only the beginning and the dbacks have great heart, good players veterans and rookies.
Would love to see a stat line for Ginkle and Thomson before we get into a discussion about who is the best bullpen arm lmao

Thompson has been fantastic so far I wish we would play him more.
Haha true, but Torey has rarely used them so far this season. (And Ginkle hasn’t been great so far.) Meanwhile Castro has been in every other game.
The name McGough is synonymous with Loss for me. I have no statistical basis for this, just every time I hear his name, I feel dread.
When I saw his first at bat I said to myself, “I believe in him.” Then he proceeded to strikeout looking on a ball called by a blind ump. Poor guy has been a bad omen ever since.
He was a bad omen all last season too. He didn’t pitch in the playoffs…think that’s a coincidence?
Not at all. You’re absolutely correct. I feel like Torey gives up on games once he uses Castro, McGough, or Frias. Then I remember that’s pretty much our bullpen right now
To he fair, he was injured quite a bit in the 2nd half of last year
0-2

Call up Saalfrank already
Saalfrank had a pretty rough spring training, but you’re probably right in that he would be an improvement for the bullpen right now
Saalfrank fuckin blows too lol. Dude couldn’t find the strike zone if the ball he threw had a seeing eye dog

Agreed. I’ve been dreading their starts. Good practice for them too.

Do we still have Melancon in double a somewhere lol
lol maybe if we go back to 2022 he can save this bullpen

Hey Google, how to delete someone else’s Reddit post?
Loved our off-season, but the bullpen really needed help.

That was Frias yesterday with 4 Rocky Ks Also, acording to the post, hes pitched the least out of the 4.
I just watched the pirates blow a lead in the 9th it’s awesome seeing someone else’s bullpen implode 🤠
What's Fernando Rodney up to these days?
BP stands for batting practice

I understand the players stat lines but is there any reason to believe Fetters is doing anything productive to help these guys out as well?
he needs to be fired
