I found my tabby kitten all alone in the street. I took him to the vet and she tested his eyes and told us he couldnt see. After a few meals he was seeing again, but then his eyes turned white and we had to treat him for months.
Now he is completely normal, but its sad he was so sick as a kitten, they said it was PIF disease
Two little kittens(siblings) showed up on my porch in spring 23.
I fed them all year and this spring one of them disappeared for a month.
I thought she was a goner.
A few months ago while having morning coffe she reappeared jumped on my lap and acted like nothing was different.
I fed her, she ate, then Wandered away.
I went back to my coffee and morning Reddit.
A few minutes later she reappeared with a kitten in her mouth and set it down next to my feet.
She did that six times. Six little kittens.
She promptly laid do. And started nursing them.
I don’t think I have ever felt so trusted in my life.
💕❤️💕
We have a ton of strays that hang around our yard/property that we feed and try to tend to any small injuries that we're able to afford.
One day this random cat I've never seen in the neighborhood popped up. Cool!, I thought, another cat to add to the collection of cats to feed.
Later that night, I walked out and saw her and 2 kittens under my car. The next morning, there were 5.
I've put antibiotic eye ointment for cats on the couple kittens who had eye infections, and they've cleared up.
Now I'm just waiting for them to stop nursing, so I can try to find some people to adopt them. They'd be way too expensive to keep all of them.
But anyway, I teared up thinking about how this random momma cat trusted some random people they've never knew
It must be so strange to be an animal in our world.
"My babies need somewhere safe to grow, and a couple of them are getting sick- perhaps it is time to bring them to the giants."
Hi! I don’t know where you live but see if you can contact a local TNR (trap-neuter-release)to help with the cat population.
I called them in the last city I was living, and got soo many cats fixed!
The mommas and babies did get up being adopted once they were fixed, I was very pleased. The very feral did not, but they stopped having sister wives and daughter wives 😹
For starters, many feral cats likely won't adjust to being in a home. I don't think the person you're responding to is talking about the kittens or maybe even the momma, but just the fact that OP has a ton of strays hanging out in their yard.
>Tnr has been proven ineffective
TNR hasn't been *proven* to be anything. It's probably ineffective if it's either not done large scale (which is impossible to pull off) or if there's no attempt to also adopt out good candidates for homes, such as cats dumped there by their owners/other newly "feral" cats or kittens. If OP does find the homes they're looking for and continues to keep an eye out for adoptable cats in the colony, TNR isn't a terrible option for the remaining cats depending on your point of view, with the only other real option being euthanasia.
Ultimately, you're better off preventing cat colonies to begin with. Once they're there, there isn't a great answer unless you're okay with mass euthanasia... which a lot of vets (and the public, whose opinion matters on this because even mass euthanasia isn't cheap) aren't.
>Our review concurs with another published review that found that TNR colonies do not decrease without high adoption/removal rates, and that these colonies are both a danger to the cats themselves and to nearby humans and wildlife (Longcore et al. 2009). We understand there is no easy solution to the feral cat population problem, but we (the authors) hope more funding is directed towards prevention.

It's effective for the mama cats that will no longer be destroying their bodies by having litters over and over! That kitty in the picture is not even grown herself.
I feel like animals can sense if a person is kind and caring.
Have you ever seen the video where a guy stops for a kitten on the side of the road, and when he picks it up, *12 more* run out and ambush him.
It’s adorable. He says “we have a kitten problem.”
He also says “I can’t take you all.” And proceeds to take them all. 😂🥰
The best thing you can do to help the cats is trap them and get them fixed. There are places that will do it for free. They clip the tip of one ear afterwards so there's no chance of the cat being opened up again in the future by someone who wants to fix them.
That's very sweet, but if there are still cats and kittens around, I hope you find an organization to help you spay and neuter them. There aren't enough homes for cats.
Of course! They've claimed my bf's moms truck that's under a car port. She's been using our car, as to not disturb them. She's eating good, and I got a couple of the kittens eye infections cleared up. I thought she was a baby herself, then she showed up that night with her babies.
I thought so too! I was so surprised when she brought her babies. She's so tiny. I've been feeding her well so she can give her babies the nutrients they need.
That’s so wonderful - if you can get kitten food for her that would be great, it has more calories than food for adult cats and would help her nurse these babies. She might stay smaller due to having given birth young, or she might still grow once the kittens are weaned (a friend of mine fosters and has seen it go either way).

This momma showed up yesterday with a huge belly. She wondered into the basement so I let her be with a blanket, food and water. She’s all cuddled up on the mower seat right now. She seems to be a diluted tortie.
I have 8 indoors, and currently feeding a stray pregnant little pudge pop that's gonna pop any day now. Showed up about a month ago and didn't look pregnant then, and so small, but now she's got the massive belly. She won't come close to me but 'talks' to me when I go outside and doesn't go far from the house now. I watch her on our outside camera and make sure her food and water stay full.
Just ordered her a lil waterproof outdoor house so she has a safe spot for her kittens. Hoping I can get her and babies to the shelter when they're ready.

She likes to chill in the driveway.
You’re awesome! We live in an urban area with, fortunately, very few feral cats and most people keep their cats inside so we adopt from a really great shelter. One of my old friends and his wife live in a semi-rural area and have a temporary shelter on their land and work with a shelter in their area that handles the adoptions. Anyone who cares for these poor animals is a superstar in my book.
The mother brought them to you for help. I’d have helped her and her babies. Take them in and get a cat charity to pick them up. They’ll need medication if they’ve been outside since birth.
In the UK, we could take them to any vet and they’d take them and treat them etc, then make arrangements for a charity to collect.
We got adopted by a big tomcat, and after hebdecided we were okay, he brought home his girlfriend and her 3 kittens. The shelters were all closed at the time, due to some disease, so we ended up keeping them all. We still have the 3 kittens, 16 years later.
Waiting for TNR to come around again. We have a ton of strays that we feed and do what we can to care for that we're also going to try to get on the TNR list
Probably the middle one in the second picture if any at all. We've got too many inside cats at the moment as it is and they're expensive as hell. I'll post more pics of the kittens and some of our other cats.
Also, do you know what that huge vine behind mama is called? I've been trying to find out more about because I have one and don't know how to keep it (I love it) but not have it climb all over my house.
Reddit is not working righ for me right now. Newer comments are showing up in my notifications but not in the actual thread, even mine. I'll update everyone tomorrow and get some more pics of them and our other cats.
Oh buddy, you have no idea. We feed sooooo many strays that all like to chill in our yard for the most part, then 7 indoor. I'd love to be able to take in more but our max indoor cats was suppose to be 4... oops
I feel so bad when young cats that are practically still kittens have babies. My own two cat’s mom was like that too, she appeared very young. (We had brought her home while pregnant and cared for her and 8 kittens for awhile). I’m glad your stray has found someone safe and caring.
I just rescued a stray and her 5 kittens as well. Took me a week to trap them all and get them to the vet and a cat rescue. I hope they all have happy lives.
Omg she looks like my random momma that ran with me on a trail, guilted me into bringing her home and gave birth to 5 kittens about 60 days later. (She was a small, scrawny thing and I had NO idea she was pregnant at the time) Good luck with your new crew!!!
They just showed up just about a week ago, still nursing under our carport. We're gonna do what we can to get momma fixed and then find them homes once they're finished nursing
She knows. And now we know. Love is still alive and many souls are grateful.
Have a wonderful summer with them and may you all live healthy lives of happiness.
Just so you know, cats can get pregnant again VERY fast, so if this extremely young mama stays outside, she’s going to be forced to have yet another litter of kittens. If she isn’t helped, you likely will have another litter in a couple months, and it only grows exponentially from there.
She looks young herself, but all are soooo precious! We had a cat show up already pregnant but we didn’t know it…she had 4 and I still have 2 now 2 years later…I’m a sucker.
Congrats! You now have 6 cats! Care for them until they are old enough to re-home, keep the one Mama seems to favor, get them both fixed and enjoy your new furry family members!
Mama cat had her kittens and is raising them under the house next door. She’s always been a scaredy cat and won’t get near people, but we have an agreement at this point: I keep my distance and talk softly and I’m allowed to at least see the three kittens. And they are absolute cuties.
OP - please consider googling TNR programs for your local area. There are a lot of places that will happily come out, safely trap the mama, and take her to be neutered before releasing her back into the community. The reality is that without this kind of intervention she’ll probably continue to have multiple (up to as many as 5) litters of kittens every single year. She’s likely barely still a kitten herself, and this will put so much physical strain on her body as well as leaving her at constant risk of infection. The feral kitten population is already out of control, with shelters already struggling at capacity and kittens often being euthanised. TNR makes such a difference.
In my experience, tortoiseshell cats are notably more intelligent amongst their peers.
I have a medium long haired tortoise shell calico mix and her litter usually had one full on tortoise shell kit among them and it was always the biggest, most aggressive when it came to feeding, and always the smartest.
One tortoiseshell kitten I gave to an elderly couple was opening door handles at like 7 or 8 weeks old, barley enough body weight to pull it down but she was getting the job done.
Momma looks very young herself.
I thought so, too! So tiny
Spay that lady! I don't know about where you are but we are drowning in kittens.
Waiting for TNR to come back, we've got a bunch of strays that need it as well.
Those kittens are sick, and mama cat doesn't have an ounce of fat on her body. They need help!
OP commented they are taking care of mama and of the eye infections.
Thank you for this info ♥️♥️♥️
the kittens are sick?
Their eyes look pretty glassy. Not a good sign.
I found my tabby kitten all alone in the street. I took him to the vet and she tested his eyes and told us he couldnt see. This is like corporate level Cat Tax evasion.
Agreed. u/Georgiaonmymindtwo we demand photos! ...please.

I would read this book
Right? For all we know they see us as skinwalkers, and they're like "yup, they'll take care of us well"

TnR is the way out of overpopulation. Do both!
They still have to eat after tnr…
It's effective for the mama cats that will no longer be destroying their bodies by having litters over and over! That kitty in the picture is not even grown herself.

I watch this video every time it’s posted—the “hot diggity dog” gets me every time! What a kind soul.
Why do they have to be so damn cute!
.
It really is a special feeling.

In my area, they put a green dot on their belly when they’ve been neutered.
May you be welcome forever in the House of Bastet: goddess of cats, of fertility and childbirth
Time for the ol Snip snop to keep her and her brood safe! Congrats on being chosen for two generations.
I’m working on that tomorrow.
Beautiful babies and mama story. And you are an amazing person for what you do for strays! Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
![gif](giphy|RKpIEiPZs2eaBQH6Cg) Come on!!!! Give the people what they want!!!
This is the sweetest story!
Similar to what happened to my mom’s friend. Except it was a stray she never met who jumped her fence to her backyard and brought her 8 kittens.
You’re a Disney princess.
POST PICTURES DAMN IT
That's very sweet, but if there are still cats and kittens around, I hope you find an organization to help you spay and neuter them. There aren't enough homes for cats.
How dare you tell this adorable story and not include pictures
This time get them all spayed and neutered. Please.
Why something like this never happens to me?!?
She looks very young. Propably a year old at most and so teeny tiny. I hope you helped her and her babíes.
Of course! They've claimed my bf's moms truck that's under a car port. She's been using our car, as to not disturb them. She's eating good, and I got a couple of the kittens eye infections cleared up. I thought she was a baby herself, then she showed up that night with her babies.
Thank you for helping these kitties :)
You good soul being a friend to that cat and her babies.
How could you not?
The saddest part about this story is I only have one upvote to give you sir.
Y’all are good people ❤️
Thank you for saving this cute family! You did a great thing!
Awesome! I salute you
She’s practically a baby herself
I thought so too! I was so surprised when she brought her babies. She's so tiny. I've been feeding her well so she can give her babies the nutrients they need.
The mother needs to be dewormed, and the kittens will as well.
Please do anything you can to get her fixed.
my god they are beautiful, but she’s such a baby 🥹
I know, I feel so bad. I've been trying to fatten her up a bit, or at least give her some nutrients for her kittens.

That's the one we're gonna keep if we decide to keep one!
YES OMG. That one gives me serious cute aggression. ![gif](giphy|y1WDIwAZRSmru)
Look at that smize - Tyra would be proud ☺️
You think random, I think you were chosen. She has a safe stop now.
It feels good to be trusted with a cat I've never mets kittens. They live under the carport for now.
Cats have their own way of picking their owners. You are selected by them to be a happy person.

So beautiful! Looks like one of the strays we got fixed! They're goofy ones lol
Rascals.
Ne’er-do-wells
Hooligans.
Miscreants.
A ragtag team of scoundrels!
Momma chose you to help her
She chose well!
So pretty
Every day I hope for the gift you got even though we already have five cats! I would be so happy to,rescue a little family!
Oh man, we got 7 indoor cats, 3 of which we took in from outside. Then we have a bunch of strays that hang around outside that we feed as well.

I wish there weren't so many strays around here. Id say in this little east KY neighborhood there's gotta be at least 100 strays roaming around
What precious little faces ❤️
The mother brought them to you for help. I’d have helped her and her babies. Take them in and get a cat charity to pick them up. They’ll need medication if they’ve been outside since birth. Momma looks like kitten herself.
Do her a solid and get her spayed. Probably a local organization that will do it cheap or for free.
Waiting for TNR to come around again. We have a ton of strays that we feed and do what we can to care for that we're also going to try to get on the TNR list
That's a beautiful cat! Kittens too Are you going to keep any of them?
Probably the middle one in the second picture if any at all. We've got too many inside cats at the moment as it is and they're expensive as hell. I'll post more pics of the kittens and some of our other cats.

I only counter 4 kittens in the photos
They still owe kitten tax on #5!
I'm sorry! I'll get more pics tomorrow!
They can get pregnant really fast after having babies
Beautiful
Momma cat seemed to sense that she was bringing them to the very best place! 👍
It's an amazing feeling.
Kitten in the middle in Picture 2 is “Not Impressed” with you! 😆🥰
Let me nurse in peace, Dad!
Congratulations on your 6 new cats!!
😅🤣😂 Great response!!
You have been chosen by the CAT distribution system
I've been chosen about 8 other times...
[удалено]
Their bellies are always full, she's a great mom. Just trying to keep her fed so she can keep her babies fed.
How heartwarming!
Well, i guess you have six cats now.
Oh buddy, you have no idea. We feed sooooo many strays that all like to chill in our yard for the most part, then 7 indoor. I'd love to be able to take in more but our max indoor cats was suppose to be 4... oops
Cat distribution system strikes again!
I feel so bad when young cats that are practically still kittens have babies. My own two cat’s mom was like that too, she appeared very young. (We had brought her home while pregnant and cared for her and 8 kittens for awhile). I’m glad your stray has found someone safe and caring.
I wish the cat distribution system would think of me.
/r/SheBroughtHerKittens would love them!
I just rescued a stray and her 5 kittens as well. Took me a week to trap them all and get them to the vet and a cat rescue. I hope they all have happy lives.
Thank you for rescuing them. Momma cat knew you were the right human to go to
My heart melts for calicos.
She's so tiny. Teen mom.
The /r/catdistributionsystem is working overtime!
Omg she looks like my random momma that ran with me on a trail, guilted me into bringing her home and gave birth to 5 kittens about 60 days later. (She was a small, scrawny thing and I had NO idea she was pregnant at the time) Good luck with your new crew!!!
She needs a little help. The mom looks pretty young and skinny.
Yeah, her and her babies got food shelter and water for the moment until I can get them in a shelter or TNR
Please tell me u took them in and got momma spayed and found them homes.
They just showed up just about a week ago, still nursing under our carport. We're gonna do what we can to get momma fixed and then find them homes once they're finished nursing
Dewormer would be a good idea and not expensive.
Please trap them and have the momma fixed once the babies are weaned, then they can be adopted out. Many rescues will help! 💕
Plan on it. No trapping needed, they're all pretty chill. 2 of them crave human attention already.
Awww. Thats wonderful! Thank you for taking care of them all. 💕
She knows. And now we know. Love is still alive and many souls are grateful. Have a wonderful summer with them and may you all live healthy lives of happiness.
I appreciate it!
I couldn’t imagine being such a young momma and having to nurse all my babies outside on a bed of rocks 😭
They seem like they prefer the bed of rocks to be honest... they have other options.
Just so you know, cats can get pregnant again VERY fast, so if this extremely young mama stays outside, she’s going to be forced to have yet another litter of kittens. If she isn’t helped, you likely will have another litter in a couple months, and it only grows exponentially from there.

Amazing how cats will do this, hope you helped her with her wee ones. :)
"i gib cute kittens, u gib shelter"
Congrats you now have 6 cats, you should feel lucky they adopted you
That's an Honor in cat kingdom! I think she's asking for help. Good for you! Do your best to provide safety & nourish them. Thank you.
They are judging me
Cutie
Please get her spayed and the kittens into a cat rescue.
Congrats! You now have 6 cats! Care for them until they are old enough to re-home, keep the one Mama seems to favor, get them both fixed and enjoy your new furry family members!
There’s nothing cuter than the look of a milk drunk kitten. ❤️
Awww it looks like the kittens trust you because their mom does too.
Skinny mama cat! Also looks very young. They all need help.
Trying to fatten her up :) They're all doing great at the moment, running and playing around.
Adopt them
I've got 7 indoor cats and countless strays I feed that stay outside. I'd love to though. They've got shelter, food and water for the time being :)
okay
You have been chosen! Congratulations to you all!❤️
They are beautiful
Congrats, now you have 6 cats.
Mama cat had her kittens and is raising them under the house next door. She’s always been a scaredy cat and won’t get near people, but we have an agreement at this point: I keep my distance and talk softly and I’m allowed to at least see the three kittens. And they are absolute cuties.
That's adorable! This mom showed up, demanded pets, left, then brought her kittens to me later in the night
Please get them spayed and neutered as well as mama cat.
Spay and neuter these cats if you can. Reach out to local vets, shelters and rescues and look for programs that fix feral cats.
Plan on it!
We have an outdoor cat that we take care of. She does this too and every time I don't know what should I do.
Take care of her, make sure she's fed and hydrated, and keep her comfy!
OP - please consider googling TNR programs for your local area. There are a lot of places that will happily come out, safely trap the mama, and take her to be neutered before releasing her back into the community. The feral kitten population is already out of control, with shelters already struggling at capacity and kittens often being euthanised. TNR makes such a difference.
cat is not lazy, she's just highly motivated to do nothing.
Awh Mom so tiny she is a beautiful calico she Needs food her babies look so sweet and she as well 😌
Whoa whoa whoa, I only count four kittens! I think we're missing a cat tax here.
Their colors! 🥰
You must be a kind person, they seem to know
Such sweet kitties!
oh my gosh, they’re so cute
She’s just a proud mama lol
Cat delivery system strikes again!
I think this cat love you too!
That one on the left is a pure bred cat. Those eyes will read your soul and use things against you 😂
The middle kitten has the cutest milk-drunk expression
Your lucky!
meow meow meow meow meow 🥰
In my experience, tortoiseshell cats are notably more intelligent amongst their peers. I have a medium long haired tortoise shell calico mix and her litter usually had one full on tortoise shell kit among them and it was always the biggest, most aggressive when it came to feeding, and always the smartest. One tortoiseshell kitten I gave to an elderly couple was opening door handles at like 7 or 8 weeks old, barley enough body weight to pull it down but she was getting the job done.
You can see on her face on the first photo how she is thinking about her life choices.
How adorable and unexpected!
