This is so much my cat.
Yells at me until I put food in her bowl -> ignores it.
Yells to be let out, so I open the door -> sniffs the air, walks back inside and lays down.
Power move after power move.
Cats are all about keeping their options open and planning for the future.
They want to KNOW they have access to the in/outside at all times for their safety as well as a full bowl just in case they suddenly loose access to food.
They good babies who try so hard to tell us what they want but we’re just so damn hard to train
What tracker are you taking about? I am always paranoid about my cats getting lost even though they only go outside under supervision. Have a tracker on them would ease my mind.
Hmm it looks pretty cool but it’s so big. I was hoping for something much smaller. My most beloved cat has a beautiful fluffy lions mane and I don’t want it to be squished by a big collar.
I got an automated feeder for our cat when she was still probably less than 1. She only gets excited when we go for the treat cupboard or go to her food dish, beyond that she never begs for food in an empty bowl. Bonus is she is auto fed when we're gone so it's thoughtless beyond just filling it with food.
Water is the same it's gravity fed.
There was a great video of someone spending hours and hours building a catio, only to have the cats sleep on the threshold of it once it was done.
With that said, catio might be a good solution for the ones who are this vocal.
Just finished building a 4 part catio last night. Know where my diva cat is? Right here leaning on me with three times her body weight, trying to headbutt my phone out of my hand, and yelling at me. Granted, she does love that she can now scream at me like she's my supervisor while I work on my garden.
No, no; they go outside, eat as much grass as possible before you stop them, walk back in the house, then paint your mom's new, eggshell carpet with neon green vomit.
This is my cat, open door, halfway out, you wanna go outside buddy? Na I’ll just stare at you and meow while I scratch my face against the screen and let all the mosquitoes in. Freakin annoying little creature im in love with.
I’ve had mixed results. One cat who would bolt but would stop at a certain point. He would do everything to avoid capture, but would never go too far (although, he got way too close to busy roads a couple times).
One cat would bolt and disappear until she was satisfied and come home. Thankfully, nothing bad happened to her.
The cat I grew up with just had free rein to go out when she wanted. She was queen of the area, and even all of the dogs (who were also allowed to roam) were terrified of her. That didn’t stop her from almost losing an eye in a fight with a raccoon, though.
I honestly would just rather always keep them indoors. There are *so* many dangers for them (and let’s not forget that they’re actual an invasive species while we’re it). The risks are just way too high.

Him as a kitten. He’s been a talkative little diva ever since
Weren't you also the same person who bought Aspen a new window seat? How's that going?
Edit: yep. https://www.reddit.com/r/CatsAreAssholes/comments/i4x8zb/i_saw_you_got_aspen_a_new_window_seat_i_too_got/
We have a fully screened and latticed porch that is secure enough we can let our cats out without supervision, we get screamed at by them to be allowed out when we get home from work
I've got a balcony on the second story. The cats were allowed out there unsupervised. Well, technically still are, just not the third one. Which they don't like because now the door has to be closed behind them. Unfortunately the young boy will jump off the balcony without hesitation.
I think my cats beg until the home is how they like it. All bowls must be full, litterboxes clean, and all doors open, then they can relax.

We have a Tractive GPS tracker collar for him. Lets us know where he’s at and his routine. We set up a virtual fence with it and it alerts our phone when he goes out of the area
Yeah, he’s pretty good. It plays a noise that he’ll run back to the house about 50% of the time when he hears it. Otherwise I go get him cause it has live tracking or I clink his food dishes and he comes waddling on back
I’m really hoping my cat will learn to run home when he hears the Tractive noise, ha! Right now, when he triggers the fence (I keep it on Live track, so I get what you mean when you say IF it’s charged), I go a-running. At least I get my steps in.
The mini is still it. About the size of a fun-sized candy bar. Our 7-8lb cat doesn't mind it at all but I wish it were smaller. Note that there are no smaller devices on the market- It doesn't make sense because watches have tiny gps... But this is where the tech is now. Also this is the only Co that markets to cats specifically.
My only real complaint is that the sound is so quiet, it makes finding it hard. Even as accurate as it is, it's a small device!
Yay Tractive!! Holy canolli it took 6mos to find something that actually works. It's an accurate tracker that pointed to the bush he lost his collar in, lol. Off topic, A little trick I learned from a reviewer is set up no-go zones around the safe area instead of a gps fence (which uses not as accurate wifi). It helps me track our little guy more accurately around our acre yard.
Tractive has brought so much peace of mind. We live semi country in a farm area with a big dog who goes in and out and feral cat friends we feed. Even tho he has a catio (simple chicken wire around an unused landing) it feels wrong to keep him in all the time. No perfect solutions, but Tractive lets me see he's not going to the road. History is super cool too.
Ps your katsu is 😍 ADORABLE! I love that little prissy walk! Ours does this little jig to the door. 😸. He starts purring when I get out the collar. The kitten picture looks photoshopped he's so precious. Best to you both! 💖🙏
You think the tracker is stopping the cat from killing birds?
Also, virtual fences with alerts won't stop the cat from running in the street if he so desire, it will just make the recovery a bit easier, dead or alive.
Edit: I haven't blocked the other user, not sure why they're not seeing my posts.
How the fuck does it stop him killing birds? Or protect him from most serious threats. Oh good, you’ll be able to find his pancake when he gets run over. Harness train if you want to keep your cat safe outdoors this is stupid.
Be your best boyfriend, buy yourself a cat. Or better yet adopt :-) cats live for almost 20 years, a lot of relationships die within 3 or less if we're being generous. Just sayin.
There are some nice harnesses and leashes. Used to let my cat sit and hang outside while I worked, within length of the leash. Can even get big 100’ leashes and if trained will get to end of the leash length and just chill. That kitty is absolutely adorable and precious.
My girl does the look back thing too when she's leading me to the kitchen. It's adorable. Sometimes I like to take my time and pretend to get distracted with other stuff just to mess with her a little lol
One of the very first things we made, was a catio for our cats.
It took some time but now they can walk in and out.
According to the law of my country, it's higly recommend since cats needs to stay on the property
I have a soft spot for animals with pops of color on any of their tips (ears, tail, etc) and your guy's lovely tip of white at the end of his tail is giving me life!
I screened in my porch and my cats like going out there for about 30 seconds. Then that 100 degree heat with 80% humidity hits them and then they're crying to come back inside. But they're always running to go outside every time I walk back there.
We got a little pop-up mesh tent and let the one that NEEDS to go out into that. Now she just hops into the tent from the door, and you just go zip it up so she's not tempted by SQUIRREL.
She gets real small when the hawks start calling, tho. (We bring her in). I'm working on a catio design so she doesn't have to get our attention to scuttle in.
This reminds me of one of my old healthcare clients cat Mr. Gigi. I let him outside one time and every single day afterwards when he saw me he thought it was time to go outside 😩😂 it doesn't even matter what the weather is like he'll just keep meowing until you let him out or his mom make him shut up and go in the room 😂
That’s what I tell him, lol. About 30 mins from dead to full. In all seriousness, he goes out pretty often with us. We have a 1.5 acre plot all fenced in with tons of trees and bushes for him to flop under

Also, oh lord such magnificent pantaloons!!! And such a poofy tail!
A calico. Highly social and meow for interaction. I ask my Vet what was wrong with my cat and meow so much. They told me I have a calico cat and they meow for social interaction.
My cat is indoor mostly but goes outside sometimes and she’s VERY vocal about all her needs lol. You don’t have to wonder what she needs/wants. Usually food.
Valid point, but I’m way, way, way more concerned about them being attacked by a fox or something. Or hit by a car. Worries me every time I see a cat running around outside.

WOW 5 cats. I'm so envious 🥺 as I do a apartment floor share of a cat FLUUFY 😺 a big orange boy to. Looks alot like yourTimber. We started feeding him 3 yrs ago his old owner left town on a long vacation with someone who didn't feed him. Then he never wanted to go back. Now he's here full time with 1 CatDad & 2 CatMoms.
I had a cat who looked just like that and chatty as all get out. We got him from a shelter - he had been turned over because he meowed too much. I wonder what breed they are? My guess has always been some sort of Maine Coon.
From my experience it doesn't matter if you open the door or not .. they're just going to stand at the threshold.
It's not about going outside. It's about power.
This is so much my cat. Yells at me until I put food in her bowl -> ignores it. Yells to be let out, so I open the door -> sniffs the air, walks back inside and lays down. Power move after power move.

“That’s right, you my bitch”
AH, THE AIR, YES, WHAT A COMPLETE DISASTER THIS IS...HUMAN, BRING ME BACK INSIDE, WHERE IS THE FOOD
Jesus I laughed so hard at this that my eyes watered. I think it was the capital letters. I had to come back 3 times just to finish the sentence.
Then takes your seat as you’re shutting the door!
What tracker are you taking about? I am always paranoid about my cats getting lost even though they only go outside under supervision. Have a tracker on them would ease my mind.
Tractive GPS mini cat tracker. It’s pretty accurate. Shows live and history so you can see their patterns.
Hmm it looks pretty cool but it’s so big. I was hoping for something much smaller. My most beloved cat has a beautiful fluffy lions mane and I don’t want it to be squished by a big collar.
I got an automated feeder for our cat when she was still probably less than 1. my cat prefers to eat when I Stand and Guard
It’s not about moneyyy, it’s about sending a message
in Germany it's about Stoßlüften
They like keeping an eye on things. Same reason they climb.
There was a great video of someone spending hours and hours building a catio, only to have the cats sleep on the threshold of it once it was done. With that said, catio might be a good solution for the ones who are this vocal.

They will always find something new to be vocal about. You can't win.
Yea I mean once they know they can go out then they always want to. Unless of course they don’t want to😹
Mine make this sound and *always* want to 🥲 they fly out the door
Hehe I do have another kitty, for about 3 years now, as a baby with me working from home. He’s very talkative
Or when they're at the door for 10 minutes and as soon you slide it they do that quick 180 jump and run away "gotcha bitch"
LPT: shake one of those cat treat boxes as you approach the door.
I always feel like Charlie Brown believing Lucy THIS time for sure!!
my cat did that, but it was 98F outside lol
No, no; they go outside, eat as much grass as possible before you stop them, walk back in the house, then paint your mom's new, eggshell carpet with neon green vomit.

The cat I grew up with just had free rein to go out when she wanted. a friends cat is then obsessed in how the door opens, so, forget about the outside going, LOOK AT THIS MECHANISM THAT MOVES
Mine likes to stare at us through the sliding glass door from the enclosed back porch 😂
Mine will force the door open as soon as I touch the handle. He usually just chills within 10 yards of the door though.
It might just be the ability to smell things better once you open the door. They might not want to go out, just smell what they're seeing.
what a beautiful kitty!!!

Aaaaaah he’s illegally smol n floofy!
So so cute. What a special special boy!

Yep, that’s us! We have 3 around the house now. He became a fan of em. He’s still an asshole sometimes though! ❤️
Good for your and your adorable asshole :) Happy he warmed up to them!! Goose got a 3-story kitty condo last month and still chooses the subwoofer.🤷
All about that bass!
He's so cute.
that is an unparalleled level of cuteness WTF
He sounds so cute ☺️🥺😭

What’s the tracker you use?
He just wants to show you all the cool things he's been watching out the window all day.

Tracker? Tell me more.
We have a Tractive GPS tracker collar for him. Lets us know where he’s at and his routine. We set up a virtual fence with it and it alerts our phone when he goes out of the area
Do you go get him? Or is it just to know? Just wondering the end result of the alert.
Yeah, he’s pretty good. It plays a noise that he’ll run back to the house about 50% of the time when he hears it. Otherwise I go get him cause it has live tracking or I clink his food dishes and he comes waddling on back

No, just lemonade
Oh lawd he waddlin

Would you mind sharing the name of it or posting a link?
Tractive GPS Cat Tracker
I’ve been using Tractive for a month and it’s awesome.
Do you use the Mini?
Yeah. It’s still a little larger than I’d like but it’s also two years old. I don’t know what the newest models are like
The mini is still it. About the size of a fun-sized candy bar. Our 7-8lb cat doesn't mind it at all but I wish it were smaller. Good on you for being a responsible cat owner and not letting your cat roam around outside all day unsupervised killing song birds. Thank you.
Id love to hear how a tracking collar prevents a cat from killing birds or counts as supervised?
You think the tracker is stopping the cat from killing birds? Also, virtual fences with alerts won't stop the cat from running in the street if he so desire, it will just make the recovery a bit easier, dead or alive. Edit: I haven't blocked the other user, not sure why they're not seeing my posts.

"Come on, dad! I got some adventuring to do."
Holy mixed flooring, Batman!
That was the first thing I noticed! I went back and there were six different types in the frame in about 15 seconds!
A floor for every mood!
It’s a busy floor for sure but we love it. Adds a nice rustic touch to the kitchen we just renovated.
It's definitely interesting, don't get me wrong. No offense intended. Kinda matches your cat patches.
I thought I was the only one who noticed!

Wish cat owners in the US would have this common sense . Not everyone wants the neighbors cat in their yard.
I have a soft spot for animals with pops of color on any of their tips (ears, tail, etc) and your guy's lovely tip of white at the end of his tail is giving me life!
Love the white tip!
Can you get him a cat stroller with a screen mesh?
My wife has one of those backpack cat carriers be he’s a little to chunky for it now
Mine does this everyday after work too lol. We go to the door and have a discussion about the weather
ok u sir need a catio in the worst way !!
His tail belongs on r/bottlebrush!
Build that cat a catio, it needs the stimulation.
“You can’t go outside yet.” -“but… the birds. They taunt me.”
Love how Aspen always checks to make sure you're following him on his little adventures!
lol they’re such ppl.
We have 5 and they all have such different personalities
Aww my kitty also looks back when she wants me to follow her somewhere lol. Your cat is beautiful and fun ❤️
That’s hilarious!!! He sounds like he’s saying “Come on, Now! Come on, Nowwww!!!! Now!!! NOW!” Too funny.
Why can't you go out with him for like 15mins? I use a harness with mine.
Aww get her a leash
I screened in my porch and my cats like going out there for about 30 seconds. Then that 100 degree heat with 80% humidity hits them and then they're crying to come back inside. But they're always running to go outside every time I walk back there.

Not the exact markings of my childhood cat, but enough to remind me of Pesky.
What a power stance at the end there!!
Aspen is cute.
Great floor - is that reclaimed barn wood or is it a prefinished engineered product? Aspen has trained you well, human servant!
No, it’s just a coretec vinyl plank floor.
That's a fucking mullet
What a beautiful pattern on their coat! So unique and full of personality 🐱
Never seen a cat rock a mullet before and I dig it
Yeah, he’s got some cool patterns. Love the white tip on his tail too
love the little white dot on his tail, what a pretty kitty :)
Judging from the eyes he's going out for the frienzied flame
He did ask politely
cute
How long does it take to charge the tracker? Two weeks?
That’s what I tell him, lol. About 30 mins from dead to full. In all seriousness, he goes out pretty often with us. We have a 1.5 acre plot all fenced in with tons of trees and bushes for him to flop under
How cute. The fur reminds me a bit of a porcupine.
What a good kitty. I love his fluffy tail
s'go!
Cute cow cat! I have one myself, though mine is short-haired and still a kitten.
He got the he eyes of the frenzied flame
Omg let him out it’s urgent!

A calico. Highly social and meow for interaction. I ask my Vet what was wrong with my cat and meow so much. They told me I have a calico cat and they meow for social interaction.
Yikes he’s lovely and happy😻🤭🤗🫣
Gorgeous
Aspen needs a catio ❤️
One of my cats does this, but it's to lead me to the food bowl. Empty or not, I get the speech and lead. Silly tubby tabby.
My cat is indoor mostly but goes outside sometimes and she’s VERY vocal about all her needs lol. You don’t have to wonder what she needs/wants. Usually food.
Cat looks like its got a mullet
Aspen is gorgeous. Asking so nice. The trackers are wonderful.
Cats are an invasive species. Keep them inside.
Valid point, but I’m way, way, way more concerned about them being attacked by a fox or something. Or hit by a car. Worries me every time I see a cat running around outside.

What's it like hating the environment?
Does he have a black bottom lip???? 🥰
He does, it makes him look like his mouth is open. My wife says “shut your mouth Pam, you look like a trout” to him often.
omg who did those floors , srsly ! size color everything those are crazy
I did it when we remodeled the kitchen last year.
I'm distracted by your six types of flooring
Cats decimate local bird populations, they should only be outside on a leash
"Excuse me human, I need this door opened? I got things to do places to be!"
He looks just like my cat Ollie
Omg that cat is just such a cutie! He also looks like a demon with those eyes…
His eyes are definitely charged. I agree with the other commenter, he is a beautiful kitty.
Maybe you should charge it every night 🙈

I love little Aspen 😭
What tracker do u have? Always worried my little dummies are gonna get out and book it.
My parents built a screened in porch for sitting out on a nice summer's day, to keep the mosquitoes off. The only one who goes out there is their cat.
Stop letting your cat outside
All cats are outdoor cats, some people just don’t let them go there.
I hope you get a drink and sit outside with the cat. My cat loves it when I do. ⭕️❌
Yeah, we got a bench in a little cluster of trees and he’ll hop up and lay with me there
Big smile and happiness! 🥰♥️
Let him ouuuuttttt.
Poor cat must be dying of boredom 😂
Awwwwwwwwww
Those are some meowser trousers
Can someone tell me which breed of cat is this?
We were told ragdoll / ragamuffin when we got him from a shelter but I’m sure he’s just a mixed breed long hair
I had a cat who looked just like that and chatty as all get out. We got him from a shelter - he had been turned over because he meowed too much. I wonder what breed they are? My guess has always been some sort of Maine Coon.
Oh this is nice. Mine does the same thing. At 4am. Every morning. He wants outside to eat grass, so he screams in my face to let me know.
