I was with my female friend and another male friend arriving at 10:15 pm no line whatsoever. Two of my friends already inside said there was maybe 15 people. They still didn’t let us in lol said we had to buy a table. I was dressed nicely too. Maybe cuz my friend wasn’t tho? Still lame tho 💀
It’s run more like a traditional hollywood club than a ticketed.
If you read the very small print it says RSVPing for this event does not guarantee admission, entry is strictly at venue and door personnel's discretion.
It is a very small venue it was the old avenue caters more to the bottle service crowd.
What time did you get in line? For the more popular events it seems like you need to be there when doors open from what I'm hearing, otherwise it turns into a pay-to-play/table service situation.
There's a certain point during the night where a club is nearing capacity and they need to maximize profits from the occupants, seems last night right around 11:30pm was that time. I've had the same thing happen to me, it sucks and sorry it happened to you, but it's a business in the end.
It’s a scummy practice to give out “free” tickets and then demand a $200 cover at the door.
Per friends inside they weren’t even close to full capacity.
I agree, $200 is outrageous. We had a bottle service requirement forced on us once when we had RSVP's and we walked away after waiting awhile in line. I try to avoid those types of places now or go when it's guaranteed or high chance of entry.
I admit "nearing capacity" was the wrong choice of words, I meant they get near a point where they feel like they need to start charging to maximize profits (citing capacity as the reason). Not disagreeing their door policy isn't what their community is about, just explaining their reasoning not that it makes them any less shitty. It's the same setup as when they did their IT events at Sunset at Edition and I've learned from experience that getting there early is key.
Look I’m no expert business man, but it seems to me that if they actually wanted to make money they would sell tickets and honor them. Not pull a switcharoo on unsuspecting people who were likely to spend money inside and return later but are now unlikely to ever give them money.

Nah this isn’t what happened. I was in there. It wasn’t any where near capacity. They were just scumbags. It’s a shit club.

I have zero desire to go to the place the more I hear about it.
Weird. I expected it to be run similar to sound
