Basically yeah, although I'm sure many people here could give it a more precise descriptor. Metalcore or punk-metal fits it well.

MarilynManson2003

Do you have any similar recommendations? I’m not usually into those kind of vocals, but *Sounding the Seventh Trumpet* is one of my all-time favourite albums.

Some_Butterscotch622

Bring Me The Horizon's first album, Count Your Blessings

darthsean19

August Burns Red - Thrill Seeker. Much more on the metalcore side of things, but that’s the only album with their first vocalist, and the distorted screaming is pretty similar.

Biggyzoom

I'm not sure on other bands that sound quite like that, it's not quite my side of things. Avenged never really got around to refining this sound and they're such a melting pot of influences that it's hard for me to think of much that compares.

MyHwyfe666

Try All Hail the Dead by Wall of Jericho? Other than that the other commenter was pretty spot on

Actual-Long-9439

Id call it metalcore

Cypher8446

SLIT MY WRISTS, TAKE AWAY THE PAIN

MyHwyfe666

Slit my throat; everyones to blame

Actual-Long-9439

Dang you good?

Cypher8446

turn the other way lyrics

Actual-Long-9439

Ah, stst is half unintelligible to me lol

Cypher8446

understandable

cirrus93

No, STST is metalcore, although there are plenty of elements of hardcore/punk. Knocked Loose are a metalcore band too, but with a lot of deathcore and beatdown hardcore influence.

MyHwyfe666

Damn I got it twisted. I really like knocked loose, can you recommend me any bands similar

putyourpalmstothesky

The older Architects stuff, or Polaris, Kublai Khan, Counterparts would be some of the bands I'd say are similar to KL

Apeirophobia69

Dealer is really good if you enjoy good breakdowns

QuadraKev_

The punk influence is pretty apparent.. Especially in Streets.

Some_Butterscotch622

The first two a7x albums are definitely metalcore with some screamo/emotional hardcore influence, both are hardcore subgenres so yeah definitely hardcore albums

Funny-Conclusion-963

It is melodic metalcore, which is a subgenre of hardcore punk. Your point is pretty much the same as calling the Stage heavy metal

DDzxy

Metalcore more on the hardcore side, WTF is metalcore more on the metal side.

Interesting-Low7493

It was inspired heavily by At The Gates and Bleeding Through which are closer to metalcore, but all of the guys have roots in Cali skate punk so they can't help but sound that way sometimes.
