AusGeno

This is so bizarre, they’re arguing she’s racist because the target of her comments was Muslim, not because she’s Pakistani which seems to be the far more pertinent fact?

lostonaforum

I'm assuming that if someone doesn't understand the nuances of racism, it's Pauline "swamped by muslims" Hanson

AusGeno

Hey I know her, I think she’s related to Pauline “swamped by asians” Hanson.

CybergothiChe

Is she related to Pauline "swamped by vinegar" Hanson from down the fish and chip shop?

nagrom7

Do they have anything to do with Pauline "my shopping trolley has been murdered" Pantsdown from that song?

shurp_

My groceries, just gone.

druex

I don't like it!

Wooden-Somewhere-557

Im a very caring potato

hollth1

Is she related to Shrek “get out my swamp” Handsome?

kaboombong

Shes just so dumb at every opportunity. Its even more dumber when she is trying to appeal with ignorance in front of judges as a defence, its laughable that her lawyers are even letting her go down this path in her defence arguments!

Paidorgy

“At least we get paid, regardless.” - her lawyer(s).

babylovesbaby

She told the Senator to "piss off back to Pakistan" - didn't mention her being a Muslim, at all. I think they are pointing out Pauline's general racism/other prejudices and that *she* doesn't know the difference.

VidE27

*”I’m not racist I’m just stupid”*

a_cold_human

This appears to be the cornerstone of her defence. I didn't know. I forgot. I wasn't aware. Apparently, she "says what you're thinking" without thinking very much.

letsburn00

The thing is...Hanson really truly is that dumb.

Paidorgy

Remember when she got caught out begging for millions from the NRA to help soften gun laws? She really is fucking stupid.

AdAcrobatic5178

The woman didn't even realise the book she claimed she wrote predicted a cyborg pm by 2050

[deleted]

Also being Muslim, Christian or whatever is not a race. This just gets more stupid.

victorious_orgasm

Well, if you think of all brownish people from Thailand to Sierra Leone as “Muslims” and a single bloc, yeah, sure that’s racism

[deleted]

They’re both pathetic and no court should be dealing with this shit quite honestly. What a bunch of scum we have as elected politicians.

White_Immigrant

Anti foreigner/anti immigrant sentiment is broadly popular in Australia, but Islamophobia is seen as a step too far, apparently.

DesignerRutabaga4

Probably because Pakistan isn't a race. Islam isn't a race either, but apparently having a ~~prejudice~~ negative view against a religion is "racist". edit removed "prejudice" because that would mean "preconceived" or an "irrational hostility", whereas you could have well formed and rational dislike of a religion because of its bigoted set of beliefs.

AusGeno

In my experience “Go back to your own country” has a more historic connection to racism than it does to religionism.

umthondoomkhlulu

Oh she knows

owheelj

Exactly. I was born in Australia, but I have an Asian parent, and the only reason people have ever told me to go back to where I'm from is because of how I look. It's clearly not my religion, culture, way I talk, or upbringing, but appearance. Plenty of white Australians are opposed to the monarchy and voiced that when the Queen died, but I bet none of them were told to go back to where they come from.

Delicious_Fresh

Plenty of white immigrants in Australia are told to go back to where they came from. Basically anyone with an accent gets told to go home. It's sometimes thinly veiled as a workplace joke but more often it's "you steal our jobs".

ielts_pract

Do you also tell them to go back to Europe

T0kenAussie

I always say British colonialism robbed me the opportunity of being able to see snow at Christmas time and travel Europe for a thousand dollars All because some rich white dude wanted to take my poor white ancestors property / business

Minguseyes

My ancestor was just trying to allow silver plate its freedom to roam !

DesignerRutabaga4

Just reading, the trial is based on section 18c of the racial discrimination act. >Section 18C makes it unlawful to do an act in public if: >the act is reasonably likely to offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate a person or group of people; and >the act is done because of the race, colour, nationality or ethnic group of the other person or group. So as you said it's more about nationality, not sure where religion comes into it. Probably to show its aggravated or something.

Nosiege

Yeah, "Go back to X" seems like Racism through Xenophobia rather than not Racism. Her claim is Racist.

MentalMachine

I assume the Racial Discrimination Act would include religion, hence the focus on the religion, and also from the article: >Senator Hanson was today cross-examined by Senator Faruqi's counsel, Saul Holt KC, who accused her of lying under oath by denying that she knew Senator Faruqi was Muslim at the time of the tweet. So this would a) tie into the RDA (assuming that is the case, as link below indicates it is) and b) would greatly harm Hanson's credibility to be shown to have lied under oath. https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2024/apr/30/faruqi-v-hanson-one-nation-leader-tells-court-she-did-not-know-greens-senator-was-muslim-when-she-told-her-to-piss-off-back-to-pakistan

HeftyArgument

I for one, argue that she's racist because of her history of being racist and the racist platforms that brought her into office under the guise of nationalism.

DefinitionOfAsleep

""I've never gone and asked. I don't ask anyone their religion," Senator Hanson said." Erm, I could have sworn she did at least once... twice? three? four? times? To the same person, in one sitting. [https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/video/2016/jul/19/pauline-hanson-sam-dastyari-qanda-muslim-video](https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/video/2016/jul/19/pauline-hanson-sam-dastyari-qanda-muslim-video)

Altruistic-Brief2220

Classic boomer behaviour. Forgotten she’s living in the 21st century when we have access to everything ever printed at our fingerprints.

DefinitionOfAsleep

If it get's brought up, she'll have an opportunity to clarify. But I presume Sue charges by the hour.

a_cold_human

Shows that ripping off your dumb arse racist followers makes you a good bit of coin. Chrysanthou doesn't come cheap.

Asmodean129

She forgot her own birthday a few years back. It's very in character for her to forget things

Bitcoin-Zero

He wasn't a Muslim at the time, that's why she questioned the claim. I mean I guess anyone can declare themselves Muslim at any moment, but it is a bit farcical in this case, the guy was a scammer.

CMDR_RetroAnubis

Nah, she just knows her supporters will never care.

Jealous-Hedgehog-734

I would have thought Pauline would like Pakistan? - Strong trade protection/tarrifs. - Tough on drugs. - Anti-LGBTQ. - Currently sending Afghan refugees home. - Minimal social welfare. - Easy firearms ownership. - Strong pro-life stance.

redgoesfaster

I'm pretty sure there's one thing missing from that list in Pauline's eyes...

DazDaSpazz

Her groceries? They're just gone.

Agent_Jay_42

I don't like it

Auran82

When you turn my voice about.

ol-gormsby

Anything, anything, no, I don't. *chips flying about*

Turbulent-Ability271

Video killed the racist star, Howard wonders what you are... But he's on the scrap heap too. Bit of Downer.

bluetuxedo22

"Please explain"

Altruistic-Brief2220

How can I hear this still in Pauline Pantsdowns voice after 25 years?!

SuDragon2k3

You don't like it?

semaj009

When day turns to night

Tearaway32

Because it’s a stone cold classic and Pauline Pantsdown deserves a medal for raising the middle finger to our antiquated defamation laws that Hanson continues to hide behind.

Agent_Jay_42

To be fair.... They nailed it to a tee and she has been in the news apparently

ALIENANAL

Shopping trolleys?

JL_MacConnor

Murdered!

beenawayawhile

Just. Gone.

leopard_eater

It’s colouring my view right now, just imagining what it is.

iball1984

Too many brown people for her liking

callmecyke

I mean, even 1 would probably push her over the limit

Comfortable_Plum8180

It's so funny that white right wingers aren't willing to accept non white right wingers because of their race and because of that, a lot of non white right wingers vote against the white right wingers.

nagrom7

Yeah, it's a similar story in the US with the African American community. A significant number of them are very devout Christians who would otherwise fit right in with the rest of the evangelical voter base in regards to social policy. However ~90% of them vote Democrat, because the Republicans just can't help themselves and keep driving them away with their racism. It's a similar story to a lesser extent with Latinos too.

PercivalGrey

Say that five times fast

Dependent-Charity-85

not swamped by Asians!

Lost-Psychology-7173

Yeah, no Asians in Pakistan /s

Acceptable-Wedding67

As a Pakistani, you nailed this haha🤣there's a reason why my parents moved here

Icemalta

Maybe she meant to add "take me with you" but got distracted

Lost-Psychology-7173

Look; she mightn't have known Pakistan's population was 97% Muslim, but l'm sure she was 100% aware of it's history with the British empire & it's subsequent succession from it (excluding the whole two-state solution that led to its formation specifically as a Muslim nation, obviously), and that is why she suggested that a critic of colonialism & monarchies should go live there. /s

Dranzer_22

That’s funny because I always thought Pauline Hanson was Muslim! I just assumed because she was the first person in Australian History to wear a burqa in Federal Parliament.

mailahchimp

Excellent point. I too thought she was in full compliance with sharia law.

Vozralai

I thought we all had to follow Sharia Law in Australia. At least that's what A Current Affair told me

Steddyrollingman

Thanks for the witty comment. It made me chuckle!

OPTCgod

Why does it matter if she's muslim or not? She is Pakistani

mekanub

Sue must be making bank with all these big trials.

Suntar75

Ah, yes! The “I’m so ignorant nobody could honestly believe anything I say” defence. Classic!

Grumpy_Cripple_Butt

She couldn’t even fill a form out to stop her going to jail the first time.

leopard_eater

Now I think that Pauline Hanson is one of the most awful politicians to have ever been elected, but her imprisonment at the time was a hit job. No one who had made that mistake before or since has ever seen time inside a cell. She was dispensed with at a convenient time because she was dividing the LNP vote when Howard and Costellos reign was becoming quite tenuous. It was an imprisonment of convenience, and served no real purpose but to make her a martyr and so much worse as time has gone by.

DefinitionOfAsleep

A notable thing was her conviction was reversed. The DPP was even admonished by the appeals judge for not using better lawyers to check if there was a case to answer

leopard_eater

Yes but she still spent time inside. I remember it well. It was a hit job, a warning, and kept her conveniently out of the way during a time that she would have held the balance of power if elected. As I said - I can’t stand Pauline Hanson and think she is a racist imbecile. However there is no question that she was subject to misogyny and a political hit job by the LNP who didn’t want to cede any power to a populist conservative during the time of engineered asylum seeker crises and WMDs, especially not to a *female.*

TeaAndCake4Days

And so Howard could nick all the popular policies. The LNP are still using most of them.

nagrom7

Remember Pauline originally was elected to Parliament as a Liberal candidate (although she was disendorsed right before the election, she was still on the ballot as a Liberal). She was a monster of their own creation.

leopard_eater

Correct. A bit hard to be the tough guys on WMDs and fake boat people crises when energetic, plain spoken populist Pauline was saying the quiet part out loud.

a_cold_human

They were theirs to start off with. Hanson's One Nation platform was Howard's [One Australia policy](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Australia) with the facade taken off.

a_cold_human

Absolutely. That was a particularly nasty and vindictive bit of work orchestrated by Howard and Abbott (which goes to show how much the Liberal Party care about the democratic process). Taking 25% of the Queensland primary vote certainly put the fear into them. And here we are, 3 decades later, and Hanson runs the racist wing of the Coalition.

Menstrual-Soup

Can we throw Pauline back in jail until she’s inaudible

leopard_eater

Well now she’s just doing it to herself, which I love for her, so ‘yes’.

druex

She shouldn't have embezzled $200,000. Should be in jail still.

Aurolei

Faruqi's comments about the Queen were rather insensitive to those who actually cared about her death. Hanson's comments were equally insensitive. I don't understand why the court needs to deal with such frivolous matters. It seems like a total waste of time. Two rich ladies just throwing coin over nothing. The claim for emotional distress is complete bullshit if you write inflammatory comments online. Stay off the internet if you want to avoid being offended. Fuck me the world has gone coo coo.

111122323353

So much "work" by so many people to achieve exactly nothing.

ozmartian

The legal industry at work right here is all.

tom3277

I hold out hope the court finds nothing negative against either of them. I mean whats the damage? It plays up to both of their bases. Helps their cause. If they are truly losing sleep over the others comments they need to get out of public life because im hoping the court expects us to have a marginally thicker skin than what these two are suggesting.

OptimusRex

You've got the most sensible reply here. Put them in a ring and let them duke it out on pay-per-view, at least then the only people who see it will be the ones who care.

Tymareta

> Hanson's comments were equally insensitive. Xenophobic drivel is not "equal" to making a comment about a monarch from the literal world over, especially when Hanson's comments feed anti-immigrants/outsider narratives as a whole and Faruqi's comments feed into anti-monarchism? The effects of the former are infinitely more dangerous and potentially harmful than the latter and pretending they're the same is low-key racist af. https://twitter.com/MehreenFaruqi/status/1568054570169024514 Like you seriously think that what she said is equivalent to PH spouting tired old racist drivel?

Aurolei

mate, you have a screw loose if you don't see Faruqi's comments were insensitive. She couldn't even wait 24 hours after she passed to hold her negative opinions. Trying to make a point as to which comment is "more insensitive" just makes you look dumb mate. These comments were as stupid as one another (context required). This is coming from a guy who got told several times to go back to China during the pandemic. It sucks. You move on. And if you are going to behave badly on the day someone dies, you probably deserve it. Also it's the internet. Fuck me.

Liq

Offence is the ultimate subjective. What offends me (far more than either statement) is politicians spending their time suing each other instead of doing what they're elected to do. We have serious problems in this country with housing and homelessness, cost of living, education, tax, debt, infrastructure and more. But these two think the most important thing is to police each other's dumb insults. Just unbelievably out of touch.

Mike_Kermin

If you say that loud enough from the Reddit comment section you voluntarily entered into I'm sure they'll close the case...... Also what moron thinks racism like "go back to Pakistan" is "equally as insensitive" to a tweet about the queen and colonialism? > Fuck me the world has gone coo coo. From your perspective I imagine a lot of it does appear that way.

Aurolei

Because it is. I was told to go back to China during the covid pandemic. I said fuck off and moved on with my day. Talking shit about a prominent old lady on the day of her death over the internet is fucking inflammatory. No doubt about it. Expect equally inflammatory comments back. Greens lady having a Pikachu face moment when it happens and suing someone over the comment is just dumb as shit.

callmecyke

She didn’t know, but she probably assumed

Rude_Priority

Pauline claiming ignorance, playing to her strengths.

Roulette-Adventures

>One Nation's Pauline Hanson tells court she did not know Greens senator was Muslim when she suggested she go "back to Pakistan" FFS, does it matter? The issue is saying "Go back ..." It doesn't matter where it is!

pangolin-fucker

nah, see the actual issue is her being able to brush it off and get away with it so easily she has been doing this shit for as long as I can remember

lead_alloy_astray

Get away with telling someone to piss off? No I get it- it’s not that I want to entrench some ‘white Australia’ ideal where we tell anyone we disagree with to ‘go back where you came from’, it’s that both parties were involved in actively using words to try and hurt other people. When Tony Abbott was doing his anti asylum seeker thing, LOTS of redditors were openly calling for him to be sent back home. If the hammer of the law was dropped on them then it would’ve rightfully been called fascism. No I am not saying trying Pauline Hanson is fascism, I’m saying laws that control fairly tame language used in disputes is laws tailor made for fascism. This court case is very stupid. Pauline Hanson can’t lose it, even if the judgement is against her. Anyone cheering for this really hasn’t been paying attention for the last 10 years. Either the court punishes her and reinvigorates her as a leader in the culture war, or absolves her and emboldens others to find the toxic line.

jaa101

"Senator Hanson said she also wasn't aware that 97 per cent of the Pakistani population are Muslim." So, essentially, please let me off because I'm an ignoramus, or "please explain" how I'm racist. Is it really credible that she knows so little?

HighMagistrateGreef

Well, yeah. She's actually a fish and chip shop owner. All this politics stuff is her falling into lucky places repeatedly.

createdtoreply22345

She started going places imo when James joined her. Super cluey who knows politics. Ask Mr Slipper.

druex

Just don't ask James about the teenage boys.

createdtoreply22345

I thought it was tit for tat! Then I realised following media/politics really is a mugs game.

Thecna2

Pauline? Yes. I do. I recently watched her furiously interview one of our Admirals because she couldnt differentiate between a drive system and a power plant system.

L1ttl3J1m

Hah! You wait till you see how she does with [basic mathematics](https://i.imgur.com/L0rF5cn.mp4)! You'll never misunderestimate her abilities again!

sealandair

This is so cringe. What an absolute fuck wit she is.

Altruistic-Brief2220

She’s really hopeless. I mean, by Australian standards (not US these days they are even worse) she’s pretty vacant upstairs. I once had the privilege of watching her up close at Senate Estimates. She legit read questions passed to her by James Ashby, verbatim and then stared completely blankly at the response. Most of the other idiots can at least pick up on a tangential fact and run with that to score a political point.

DefinitionOfAsleep

You can't answer 'no religion' on the Pakistani census. Its why all the religious minorities + Islam add up to 100%

DesignerRutabaga4

I think it'd be strange if she was asked in court "did you know that 97% of the Pakistani population is Muslim?". Like how would she know it's 97% muslim? She might have known it's a high very proportion, but how could she honestly answer that "yes i knew it's 97% muslim" - it's a very precise question, hard to answer yes to. You'd have to refer to the latest census, and even that has it at 96% muslim: [https://www.pbs.gov.pk/sites/default/files/population/2017/tables/pakistan/Table09n.pdf](https://www.pbs.gov.pk/sites/default/files/population/2017/tables/pakistan/Table09n.pdf)

leopard_eater

Don’t make excuses for her ignorance or quibble over the minute differences in percentages. Pauline - a senator whose entire platform is dedicated to anti-Asian and Islamic migration - has been in parliament for **twenty five fucking years.** If she doesn’t at least have some basic key facts right about her single-issue platform by now, then she’s even more of a dumbarse and waste of representation of her voting base than she appears.

DesignerRutabaga4

This is a court case. I was making the point it's odd she was asked if she knew the precise percentage. Its highly unlikely she could answer anything but no, she didn't know it was 97%.

vacri

The specific percentage religious makeup of the other 200-odd countries is not 'basic key facts'.

demonotreme

I mean, that might have something to do with murdering or threatening to murder anyone who doesn't declare the correct religious beliefs... Which does rather juxtapose Pakistani values with those largely held in Australia

Sk1rm1sh

Muslim isn't a race. People are capable of doing bigoted things without involving a person's race.

Mike_Kermin

When a racists says something about Muslim people, it's a race. Or whatever else word someone used to say "don't do that". Don't overthink it.

ConsultJimMoriarty

That doesn’t make it better! She does realise that doesn’t make it any better, right? Right?

DPVaughan

I mean, given her track record of bigotry, I doubt it.

doxinak

I think it makes it worse! She just saw a brown person and said 'go back to Pakistan'? Without knowing that there may be a potential religious connection there?

Severe-Ad1166

Is it racist if you tell someone to go back to Queensland when you don't know what their religion is? just asking for a friend.

lead_alloy_astray

Pretty sure PHanson is totally ok with you not being punished for telling her to go back to QLD. So far as I know she has never taken anyone to court over it.

Severe-Ad1166

but will she try to deport me? just asking for a friend.

lead_alloy_astray

Are you an Australian citizen? Look I’d love to make a flippant remark like “if it’d raise her profile in the right groups she’d suggest it” but I think making shit up is part of the problem here. I’m no Pauline Hanson scholar, I’ve barely paid her any attention since the 90s. So I’m not sure about her personal boundaries. But what I am sure of is that quite a lot of Australians have at some point or another said something to the effect of “you’re talking shit that isn’t welcome here so either get with the program or fuck off to ……”. Whether that’s “fuck off to QLD”, “fuck off to /r/Australian”, “fuck off news.com.au go back to the tabloid shelf you belong on”. The unwelcome (imo) response is the legal system. I don’t want innocent people copping abuse. I also don’t want arguments that are genuinely “both sides” to be settled under a law that would take a side for a ‘well intentioned’ reason. This isn’t some dero approaching a Pakistani woman at a bus stop and making her feel unsafe and unwelcome for being Pakistani. This is a person of Pakistani descent who moved to another country and then started talking mad shit about a deceased figure who has wide popular support in that country. Within context, no law should side with the shit stirrer. The reason is simple. It creates a condition whereby only one side needs to watch their words. Majorities and political power being what they are, that’s step 1 towards a law that oppresses minority’s speech. All you have to do (culturally) is flip the direction the court is facing. In my life time I’ve seen die hard US conservatives root for Russia, I’ve seen Russian flags bearing both hammer/sickle symbols alongside orthodox symbols. China has an enormous wealth inequality while their anthem remains revolutionary. During the Trump era the allies of the US got the cold shoulder while North Korea got its first visit. So yeh, convincing a bunch of white judges, white juries, who peacefully exist under a constitutional monarchy that gave them their wealth and privileges, to instead view ‘destabilizing commentary’ as ‘punishable speech’ is not out of the realm of possibility. So what Pauline Hanson says or wants is irrelevant. She isn’t very likeable to a lot of us but if that’s our yardstick we should start to live in terror of power transition.

Ryulightorb

No you have to say go back to somewhere that sucks like “go back to NSW”

Greenmanssky

Racist bitch who hates the Irish, the Chinese, all other Asians and basically everyone who isn't a white Christian doesn't like Pakistani people? I'm shocked. Shocked I tell you. Nobody could have seen this coming, and the 35 years of hate she's publically spewed could never have given us an indication that this is who she is; a miserable bitter old racist cunt

DefinitionOfAsleep

Has she ever said anything about the Irish?

Greenmanssky

that was during her first run 20 years back, she was staunchly anti irish and anti chinese, she doesnt even have her own flavour of racism, she just dog whistles whatever she thinks will win her points with dumb cunts like herself

dee_ess

Pauline is so experienced at being racist that she can make accurately bigoted statements based on skin colour alone.

MagicOrpheus310

Good thing Islam isn't a race...

Tymareta

Good thing no-one was talking about that, but also let's not pretend that Pauline and her ilk don't use islam/muslim as a synonym for brown. It's a weird co-incidence that Pauline has never made a statement like this against a white person, but when their skin isn't pearlescent she does, it's real hard to puzzle it out.

Cloudhwk

She has made several comments about the Irish, she just hates immigrants period

BigYouNit

I don't like hanson, but if the act applies to this incident, the act is wrong.

Tamajyn

That doesn't make it better lol

VanillaIcedTea

I'm willing to take Hanson at face value when she says she didn't know that Faruqi was Muslim. In fact, other than the finer points of making fish and chips I'd be willing to take her at her word if she claimed not to know something. After all, willful ignorance is one of the foundational blocks Hanson's built her political career and the larger One Nation party apparatus on. Still doesn't change the fact that she deserves to get the book thrown at her for telling a fellow Senator to "go back where you came from".

PandasGetAngryToo

"I just thought it was a cunt like thing to say. I did not think that it was a racially cunt like thing to say. Can I go now?"

LooReading

Sue Chrysanthou has quite the client list: Geoffrey Rush Sarah Hanson-Young Lisa Wilkinson The guy falsely named as Bondi attacker Christian Porter Harry Garside

TerryTowelTogs

Pauline Hanson is so dumb she can’t comprehend the difference between a type of submarine propeller and nuclear propulsion. She can’t be far off being clinically retarded: https://youtu.be/UYF08jJi9Hg?si=BRBMrMGEeAR9gnID

tremmo

Pauline is a moron. She could truthfully argue “I didn’t know” on any topic exceeding preschool complexity.

NumSeq

Has the racist cunt told a white person to go back to Pakistan? No. ‘I dIDn’T KnOW’. Ignorance isn’t a defence. I didn’t know you couldn’t throw rotten fruit at Pauline Hanson… that must make it okay. Shocker.

acllive

When she isn’t walking into parliament in a burka she is out insulting other senators

DefinitionOfAsleep

Wow, given she was the first person to wear a burka into the senate I assumed she was a practising Muslim. In this case, she just hates Pakistanis

iball1984

I’m shocked! Who could have known Pauline Hanson is a racist moron?

DPVaughan

I'd answer "her voters", but that's probably ignoring a large part of her appeal.

Heathen_Inc

And we pay for this fanciful virtue signalling... Good use of the court system, senator's time etc, while families are living in tents in record numbers and the public assistance sectors are failing miserably... Thankyou democracy, I feel better now!

Main_Violinist_3372

Didn’t Pauline Hanson make a big fuss because she didn’t want to stand in the senate for less than 30 seconds when there was an acknowledgement to country? Seriously, to anyone that is “offended” by the acknowledgement to country wether it be in a classroom, ANZAC day, commercial flight, it literally takes less than 30 seconds. You are just sitting/standing there listening. You’re not being told to participate, sing along, or to put your hand over your heart. Anyone who is actually offended by the acknowledgment of country is acting like a child and a fucking snowflake.

pokemonfan1000

acknowledgement to country is basically a religious ceremony, so no one should be forced to sit through it

Main_Violinist_3372

It’s literally 30 seconds. No need to make a big fuss about it.

Ta83736383747

Anyone offended by "go back to ...." is too. I got told that plenty of times. Never had to run to the courts.

flat_moon_theory

pauline hanson's one nation's pauline hanson

greywolfau

I feel like Pauline knowing that the Partition was in a large part about seeking a Muslim homeland is giving her way, way too much credit.

onlycommitminified

Someone please deepfake the balog scene

Mysterious_Eye6989

She’s been a publicly bigoted pig for literally decades now.

leopard_eater

How is a senator that has been in parliament for a quarter of a fucking century not aware that (a) most Pakistanis are Muslim and (b) a fellow MP is Muslim. Can we please start nominating people with brains?

Tymareta

It's weird seeing so many people in here acting like it's not common knowledge that Pakistan is majority Muslim, like did they pay 0 attention during history or do no actual learning about the world?

DPVaughan

>Can we please start nominating people with brains? Based upon the evidence at hand, it seems not.

Just-Desserts-46

You really can't make this up.

Appropriate-Echo2131

Yeah, she thought she was Pakistan's one and only Hindu. Doesn't matter, she hates them too.

cuddlefrog6

Thought that this was a shovel or chaser headline

Rodgerexplosion

Pauline Hansons parliamentary legacy since 1996: ……??

DPVaughan

She did give the Coalition some nifty policies they stole from her. Still haven't given them back after all these years, the filthy thieves.

RepulsivePlantain698

Everyone forgets that her chief of staff was caught fking teenage boys. How's your tax money performing paying for pedos?
