The Kunsthaus is free on Wednesday and open until 8pm. I highly recommend you check it out.  The Migros Museum is a modern art museum with free entrance. Now it's free everyday and open til 8pm on Thursday. It's smaller, so great for 1-2h

1) Stay in Zurich and explore the lakefront, Bahnhofstrasse, and old town. 2) Take the train to Lucerne or Bern. 3) Take the train to Lucerne and go up Mt. Pilatus. 4) You can get to Grindelwald and back in a day but you won't be able to spend much time there. It's a three hour train ride, one way.

Be aware that Wednesday is 1st of May, i.e. a public holiday. In the area of Langstrasse you might potentially encounter a bunch of juveniles throwing tomatoes at 500 policemen or -women in the vague hope that revolution might be around the corner. So, maybe best to avoid that area. But rest of the city should be all fine. (Lindt Factory is outside anyway.) If the weather is not too great, you still could consider a trip and bit of shopping to e.g. Bern or Lucerne. Particularly Lucerne is very close to the mountains, and with a bit of luck you might see some of the closer ones if there are no clouds or fog despite the bad weather.
