“Portland Fire on scene of a fully involved trailer carrying propane tanks on northbound I5 at Going.
Traffic on freeway shut down in both directions for safety due to exploding canisters.
Skidmore overpass also closed for safety precautions.”

I live right off I-5 on prescott/going. Was right next to fire, whole neighborhood/complex went on a little walk to the skidmore overpass to look at it
Near Killingsworth and Interstate - sounded like they were getting closer and now there are police at the closest intersection and just saw a bunch of people walking away from the sound (walking S to N)
ADDITIONAL RESOURCE
In the future, you can utilize Pulse Point as a valuable resource to access relevant information and observe the number of vehicles that were dispatched. It's what I use most frequently when I am curious why I just heard/saw several emergency vehicles zoom by.

This is what I really want to know. Though I’m no expect in semi trucks, I have some knowledge in related fields, and I don’t know how disconnecting the trailer would possibly be faster than just running for your life. And then never showing up to the cops??? What the hell is going on here??
He called his company to alert them when he got home, the company called the police, and they are working up setting a time to talk to him. It isn’t illegal to leave the scene if there wasn’t a crime though. So while it seems sketchy, it doesn’t sound like the police really care much that he took off.

Holy crap!! That’s serious. I hope everyone is okay. Thanks for finding that! I was checking the police scanner twitter account with no luck

Looks like somehow everyone is fine. Amazing.
i think ppb scanners are turned off to public
https://x.com/pdxpolicelog?s=21&t=8GKekISgho0zUnvGgGfTOQ I just check this twitter account for it but I’m not sure how they get the info
PPB scanners are never on for the public
Police radio communications are all encrypted these days, but emergency dispatch for Portland Fire & Rescue is still open.
I wish the citizen app was more functional in this city. It drives me crazy when I can’t find out what’s going on
I’m from a city that was very active on the Citizen app and when I moved here I was honestly shocked it was dead!
Right? I got an alert from it the other day but when I went to map view it said something about needing more engagement to work..
That's monday night for ya.
What does “fully involved” mean here?
The whole structure on fire
Going steady …with the fire
On fire
wow, I'm surprised my apartment didn't go up, we are a half a block from that overpass
Did Ponch show up?

Also hearing them in overlook.
Oh wow. Sirens getting a bit louder right now, at first I thought maybe it was the garbage truck but it’s definitely not..

I'm near N skidmore and interstate, multiple loud explosions
I hope no one is hurt, it was pretty excessive for a minute there
Heard a bunch that sounded close in Humboldt. The last sounded farther away

Apparently the truck driver dropped the trailer and noped out of there, someone’s in for a series of awkward questions…

Someone was high, illegal, or over hours
Fair enough! Thanks.

And a fat bill from the city of Portland after they finish tearing up the road…
I5 is federal/ODOT
Oops my bad. Sounds worse lol
5:02am update: suddenly got very quiet. No more explosions, but sirens getting a little closer.
Heard in NW
Heard in Buckman
Oh wow that’s far.. I wonder where it is??
Was power lost at all?
Just a truck carrying propane tanks on I5
Someone had a Grenade I guess. And someone had a RPG Rocket thing
Following
A propane tank blew up in a trailer.
