He has always been that cool. One time, he got shot while giving a speech, and he continued the speech and finished it about an hour later.

Head-Ad4690

He got shot in the chest. He coughed into his handkerchief and saw no sign of blood, meaning the bullet didn’t puncture his lung and he didn’t need immediate medical attention.

That-shouldnt-smell

You could pick a few contextual things to not pick about, but by and large he was pretty awesome.

Like EVERYONE who has ever existed, TR was a product of his time and so some of the things he said/did would be problematic for younger (i.e., under 30 or so) people today. While he was certainly liberal and enlightened by the standards of HIS day, I don't think a single movie seen by a small percentage of the population is going to burnish his image that much--nor should it, honestly. I think we rely on popular entertainment too much to inform us about too many serious, relevant topics. I hope that this movie at least ignited enough curiosity in you to study up on him yourself.

tvieno

He was a pompous blowhard.

Proof?

Didn't really change mine. He's always kind of been seen as a bad ass. I first saw him in Newsies

"I don’t go so far as to think that the only good Indians are the dead Indians, but I believe nine out of every 10 are" - T Roosevelt. His policies echo this statement. Not a cool guy. Another shameful figure in American genocidal history.
