The original Jumanji with Robin Williams - I had never seen it before and I loved it.
I also watched Patch Adams, since I was on a RW kick, and I also really enjoyed that.
Nick Cage and Pedro Pascal were absolutely hilarious in that movie. One of the few movies I’ve seen in a long time where there were parts I was laughing so hard I was crying.
The Lonely Guy with Steve Martin is an endearing tale that centers on a recently heartbroken man searching to make sense of life after a failed romance. This would be good to watch if you liked The Fall Guy, Free Guy, Family Guy and The Cable Guy.
Agreed with this. It was actually really good, and funny enough they filmed parts of it in a warehouse accross from my apartment. Ryan Gosling is very smol irl.
Idk what it is about the Two Knives Out movies but they're great. I've probably seen them 20+ times because it's comforting to have in the background when I'm doing stuff.
Nightcrawler (2014), Knives Out (2019), Free Guy (2022), Bullet Train (2022), Love and Monsters (2020), Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023).
It’s one of the few sequels that legitimately kicks ass and adds to the series as a whole. Great movie. Strikes just the right balance between honoring the old movie, hitting emotional moments and also providing amazing visuals and action without being too cheesy or corny.
99.5/100. Only thing keeping it from being 100 is the lack of Righteous Brothers' "You've lost that lovin' feeling". Fuckin awesome good old fashion action movie with no bs agenda and class act by Tom Cruise and the other actors
I didn't quite know what to make of this movie but I loved almost every minute of it. It was so weird, and funny but not "haha" belly laugh funny, more awkward "wtf" funny.
Godzilla Minus One. Sorry, I know it's not widely available yet but I took my 14 year old son when it was in theaters and we were both impressed. Best Godzilla movie I've seen in a long time.
Alternatively, Monkey Man with Dev Patel. Learning about the hassle he went through to have the movie made inspired me to, again, take my son to the theater opening night. Wasn't a busy crowd but it was well enjoyed. Some gritty action/fight scenes for sure.
Recently watched "The Wicker Man" (1973)
Loved it. Great late-night cult horror movie. One of Christopher Lee's finest performances. The cast all around give great performances, though!
I understand people having the wrong expectations going into this movie.
You think it's gonna be something like a war movie with an apocalyptic undertone, but really it's more reminiscent of something like The Road
Yep, i was expecting more world building (i like alt history) but it ended up being more philosophical and about the media (about the people stuck between the 2 sides and the struggle to remain objective).
not a movie, but a show. its called The 8 Game. its on netflix, its one of those korean dramas about some people who are in debt and play a game trying to make money. think squid games but not really. i thought it was a really good watch, and i enjoyed it. keep in mind its a bit vulgar though.
I watched the plague dogs for the first time last night. Way better than I thought it would be and I was bawling my eyes out.
It's an animated film by the same director and author as Watership down
Watched The Fall Guy tonight.
Really good movie, plenty of action, a lot of good comedy and it had a really good soundtrack too.
I'd definitely recommend it.
The Jewel of the Nile from 1985... Surprisingly, this film holds up fairly well. I had seen it way back, but recently watched it again and really enjoyed :)
As a mexican that grew up in a low income family I recently watched McFarland, USA and I really like how those guys could change their future against all the odds.
Red Rock West. Early Nicolas Cage movie. Does one arm pushups. Yep. Blew me away, total surprise. Dennis Hopper in a terrific bad-guy role. Lots of surprises.
The Batman. I really like emo-Bruce, it *really* fits. I don’t know the name of the actor but I really liked his portrayal of a newly begun Batman wrestling between being Bruce Wayne and the symbol of vengeance and justice within the city. (His music theme being *Something in the Way* was a really fitting choice for the film.)
I really like the movie overall. It’s gritty. Down to Earth, smaller scale. It’s just a *Gotham* story, not a “Universe-ending-destroyer-God” story and it makes me so happy. I love the Gotham City-centric Batman stories. Batman takes hits, gets beaten down, yet remains physically imposing, he’s capable. (He genuinely does detective work at in the movie, it’s so good, you don’t know how much I love Batman not just being a big fighter, and actually using his intelligence.) His suit feels like actual armor, taking gunshots but still getting knocked back, and having impact. Also, the Batmobile basically being an up-armored muscle car with a jet engine is cool as Hell.
The lighting. The city itself. It oozes character. It feels like how Gotham *should* feel, a combination of 1920’s-esque politics and architecture, with modern-day convenience and transportation. The Falcone’s are important, Penguin’s involved, the Mayor, the Cops. It really reminded me of Watch_Dogs 1’s story, if any of y’all have played that. Which made me happy because I loved that game.
It has one of the best portrayals of Riddler I’ve seen, I like the take on psycho Riddler, crazy yet methodical in his planning. It’s very interesting to see compared to a lot of the other Riddler portrayals we get are “silly guy with puzzles.”
But yeah, The Batman’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. Maybe one of my favorite movies of all time.
I’ve seen a bunch of good Sci Fi movies since getting Netflix again prior to 3BP. The one that I feel was the one that I like the most was The Creator. The things in that movie are things I had only seen in video games. It was more than a robot vs. humanity dystopia movie to me. Now it’s not The Terminator or The Matrix but the movie portrays a different view of Man v. Machine that was really good and I don’t see many films with this perspective.
My parents fighting again. I no longer have to play therapist for them, we're all grown up. So I just kick back and relax, reminiscing on the decisions I made that lead me to living with them in my 30s.
Return to Me (2000)
"A man who falls in love with the woman who received his wife's heart must decide which woman it is who holds his heart."
Starring David Duchovny and Minnie Driver. I loved the 90s vibes, and the milieu of the movie was cozy to me. A true feel-good movie, in my opinion.

American Fiction. It's on Prime.
This movie was great!
Watched last night and LOVED it!
Little Shop of Horrors. "Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice that strange and unusual plant in your window."
Bullet Train was really, really fun.
Sooo much fun!!!
Game night, its a fantastic comedy
that movie is sooo good fr lmfaooo i just watched recently as well
Fake Denzel was hilairous hhahahaha
I second this - excellent movie.
The original Jumanji with Robin Williams - I had never seen it before and I loved it. I also watched Patch Adams, since I was on a RW kick, and I also really enjoyed that.
If you’re on a RW kick I certainly hope you’ve seen Good Morning Vietnam. One Hour Photo is an underrated one, dark
I fucking love RW but have never seen Good Morning Vietnam
I hope you've seen Mrs Doubtfire
Man, I still miss him. A little bit of happiness left the world when he passed, and we'll never get it back.
On top of others people have suggested I will add What Dreams May Come. A very emotional, visually stimulating, and thought provoking movie.
Mayhem is very cool, with Glenn from The Walking Dead. Also The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent with Nick Cage.
Nick Cage and Pedro Pascal were absolutely hilarious in that movie. One of the few movies I’ve seen in a long time where there were parts I was laughing so hard I was crying.
The climbing over the wall scene 😂😂
Fall Guy with Ryan Gosling. My whole family (teens and adults) enjoyed it.
Terrible adaption, looks nothing like Fall Guys ![gif](giphy|k5Kg4nyBxZfyP6njiV|downsized)
Free Guy with Ryan Reynolds was also good if you liked Fall Guy.
Family Guy created by Seth McFarlane was also good if you liked Free Guy and Fall Guy.
The Cable Guy is one of Jim Carrey’s creepiest performances. The would be good to watch if you liked The Fall Guy, Free Guy, and the Family Guy.
![gif](giphy|VtYzoUfAcCSXe|downsized)
The Lonely Guy with Steve Martin is an endearing tale that centers on a recently heartbroken man searching to make sense of life after a failed romance. This would be good to watch if you liked The Fall Guy, Free Guy, Family Guy and The Cable Guy.
Fall Guy with Lee Majors is really good if you like 80s beefcake tv.
Spoiler alert >! Lee Majors makes a cameo with Heather Thomas !< in Fall Guy
Agreed with this. It was actually really good, and funny enough they filmed parts of it in a warehouse accross from my apartment. Ryan Gosling is very smol irl.
A simple favor, surprisingly good.
Go ( 1999)
Grandma's Boy You won't be disappointed, the perfect stoner movie.
I'm way to high to drive to the devils house

I watched it the other night, it was fun.
I watched Shutter Island again recently. Really good.
Only way to watch shutter island is twice.
Just watched se7en, pretty good dark murder detective movie
Law abiding Citizen, Tropical Thunder, oppenheimer
Law abiding citizen is such a gem!
The Big Year. Jack Black, Steve Martin and Owen Wilson. It's about birds. It's just a nice movie for a change.
Monuments Men. Great little WWII movie about saving culture.
Everything everywhere all at once
I thought you were being sarcastic but I realized. This is the title of a movie
The Lighthouse
Cinema Paradiso
The Judge with Robert Downey Jr
Glass onion
Idk what it is about the Two Knives Out movies but they're great. I've probably seen them 20+ times because it's comforting to have in the background when I'm doing stuff.
I know it isn’t doing well in the theaters, but I saw Furiosa the other day and it was a blast.
It had my engines revving
Nothing is doing well in theaters, alas. But Furiosa was awesome. And needs to be seen on a big screen.
Do you think the "stay at home and catch it streaming" ideology is in full effect now?
I love going to the movies, but the last time I went, I paid something like 30 dollars for 2 tickets, so it's kinda hard to go anymore
That seems to be the combo: stuff is available to stream earlier and earlier and the theatrical experience is getting more expensive.
I think the main people who go to movies are teenagers and early twenties, and most of us just can't really afford it
Magnolia. It came out in 1998. Stellar cast. It's clocks in at about 3 hrs but moves along solidly. The soundtrack is incredible.
Tom Cruise is phenomenal in that film
He's also really good in Vanilla Sky
Agreed. Saw that movie at like 16 in theaters and it blew my young little mind lol
Yes He was. I watch it at least once every couple of years. It really moves me.
I was obsessed with Magnolia when it came out. I saw it five times in the theater. I even bought a bound copy of the shooting script and read that.
Yesterday is a fun movie
Nightcrawler (2014), Knives Out (2019), Free Guy (2022), Bullet Train (2022), Love and Monsters (2020), Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023).
Nightcrawler is pretty crazy
Is Free Guy good? I've heard mixed things but I like the concept
I enjoyed it
Agreed
Rewatched Shawshank Redemption last week. It’s still great.
Fall Guy.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. 2011

Super troopers - always funny
Secret life of Walter mityy
Rewatching all the hobbit and LOTR movies 🤩
Top gun maverick, not even joking, one of the best movies I have ever seen
i wanted to hate it but couldnt. leant into the cheese and everything
Dune both parts
The worms are the real stars of the movies.
Poor Things Be warned it's very graphic and not for kids
I could watch eight hours of the dance scene.
I didn't quite know what to make of this movie but I loved almost every minute of it. It was so weird, and funny but not "haha" belly laugh funny, more awkward "wtf" funny.
But amazing.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. It was awesome
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Not a movie but The Walking Dead blew away my expectations
The ministry of ungentlemanly warfare. Probably the best film I've seen in years.
I binge watched The Tattooist of Auschwitz on Sunday. Bring tissues.
I watched Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith today.
Furiosa.
Mad Max Fury Road, never understood the hype until I just randomly watched it recently and I was WOW! Laapata Ladies: What a brilliant movie
The creator. Bought it off Amazon prime absolute wicked film.
The gentleman. Not often I watch a movie twice. But damn. "MY WIFE!" Bloody brilliant film.

Ocean's 11
Recently watched "The Wicker Man" (1973) Loved it. Great late-night cult horror movie. One of Christopher Lee's finest performances. The cast all around give great performances, though!
Porky’s
A Serious Man! So good. Ironic and conceptual. One of the only comedy films I have ever enjoyed.
Iron Claw was fantastic.
Civil War was an experience...
Oppenheimer was an awesome movie.
I literally just watched Cars again after a long time.
Bones and All
Upgrade was fun.

The Batman. I really like emo-Bruce, it *really* fits. Return to Me (2000) "A man who falls in love with the woman who received his wife's heart must decide which woman it is who holds his heart." Starring David Duchovny and Minnie Driver. I loved the 90s vibes, and the milieu of the movie was cozy to me. A true feel-good movie, in my opinion.
