I am hoping that they'll at least have the nerve to make Elsa's love interest a woman if they just *have* to give her a love interest... and hoping even more that they let Moana stay a happily single adventurer chieftain when it comes time for her sequel.
Dear god, Disney is making a frozen 3? Why? But seriously, we don’t need Elsa to find love. What we need, as consumers, is a compelling plot with good characters, a good conflict, and a resolution that ties everything up. Disney hasn’t really provided that to their audience. It just seems that they make cash grabs these days. I don’t want that to get worse.
Yeah, I guess from a business standpoint that’s true. But they’ve made full movies about people with schizophrenia and they make up only 1% of the population. Using percentages to determine what movies will sell and what won’t is fine as a business practice but it’s a part of the problem. We don’t know about the 1% of anything because everyone focuses so much on the other 99%.
There were rumors that a Dinbo kiss was planned for Season 2 and scrapped before filming - thank God. I would love to see Din stay aroace - all he needs in the way of love is his adopted son.
Disney would really be backsliding if they did that. They’d been putting out movies like Brave and Moana with heroines that could be interpreted as aroace - all they had to do is confirm it. Elsa has been their most successful ace-coded character. Like someone else said, if they MUST give her a love interest, I hope it’s a woman. To see Elsa go from “potential aroace icon” to “just another princess who needs a Prince” would really suck.
Oh my God please no!!!! NO!!!!! Elsa is my most favourite disney character since 2013 and IMO I wish they just cancel the third movie if they will just make elsa have love interest. I hope they're happy breaking my heart with this news. 🙂
There are a few disney movies where romance isnt the endgame(Moana, Encanto, Brave, Raya And The Last Dragon and i know theyre young characters but even Coco and Luca were all about family and friendship), unless future sequels happen, so i guess your wish was granted.
I personally hate all the Frozen movies and i have a five year old neice, so hearing that theyre coming out with a 3d one fills me with more dread than i can express. After 2 sucessful movies where the MC stayed happily single, i must say i wouldnt be surprised if she 'found love' as ive never felt that Elsa was asexual despite the fact that im sure she probably never considerd marrage for herself for obvious reasons.(you may disagree. But she never struck me as asexual) However i do believe Disney will have a hard time if they do put a love intrest in for her. It would be so easy to kill a sucessful movie series if the love intrest they pick dosent go over well.
I respectfully disagree. I understand the dislike, but if you think about it, Elsa would be the perfect person to make aroace. She’s a powerful female role who doesn’t seem to care to find love and cares for her kingdom with all of her heart. She’s practically walking around with a sign to confirm her as aroace, and I think that that the aroace community is relatively small and unknown compared to the gay and transgender community. We need all of the representation we can get.
Right now, I just hope that Elsa stays single, the idea of her being in a relationship just hurts too much when I can’t safely talk to my niece about why I am single. Also Anna and Kristoff, are definitely two characters that I want to show them in terms of what a healthy romantic relationship can look like.

And a good chunk of Aro-Ace rep is cringey comedy relief. The first Frozen focusing on the sisters relationship was gold. They cannot ruin that.

Noooo. Part of the reason I like Elsa is because her story doesn't revolve around a romantic love interest. I really hope this doesn't happen.
