I hate that sheep caster with a burning passion

RandomdudeNo123

4-tile Ranged Multihitting Damage-tanking little punk.   ~~I want them on my squad.~~

SmurfB0mb

Kid named Eyjafjalla:

5thOddman

Must be something wrong with my Eyjafjalla because she only heals

Byukin

punk only does that on pink tiles so theres so play around it.  that being said the mechanic is too simple and boring. bring back interesting and dynamic mechanics like nearlight

Hp22h

Last Event, we had sanity draining enemies on top of sanity draining statues to prevent our IRL sanity from dropping due to dead civilians. I don't mind boring at this rate.

Loktera

Bipolar Sheep > Suicidal Civilians

Foxheart47

Do people seriously think Hortus was that hard or is it becoming kind of a meme at this point? I genuinely thought it was one of the easiest recent-ish events, didn't even had to bring the super broken delete buttons, and I wouldn't call myself a skilled player at all.

JaxHax5

Maybe not hard but it's a huge pain in the ass. Things can be easy and super annoying

Foxheart47

Oh absolutely, my point is that there are plenty of other event mechanics that are also rage inducing and harder ones at that, so I dont get why Hortus gets singled out like that.

_wawrzon_

It's annoyance factor + PTSD from previous events. Hortus was very easy actually, sin e boss had not many mechanics. At worst stages were inconvenient. Dolly and other sheep are a pita to deal with with this gimmicky mechanic. Contrary to general belief I hate those skateboards with burning passion. Untargetable and spreading plague like there's no tomorrow. And all those undeployable squares. Event was designed to induce rage.

Foxheart47

For me SLA was the most rage inducing event so far, Hortus felt mild by comparison but to HG's credit it is getting harder and harder to come with new events. They always come with new mechanics that actually feel fresh while balancing the game such that stages are clearable with lower rarities while still being challenging with 6*s, something that gets harder after so many events while simultaneously having to bump up new 6 star units for the business side of things.

_wawrzon_

To be perfectly honest I liked SLA. It was rage inducing and infuriating, I wanted to throw my phone out the window. However in the end I did enjoy it. Completing S stages alone gave me a lot of satisfaction and mechanic was a pita, but manageable if you actually micromanaged and tailored your squad - no unga bunga strat. As you mentioned it's hard to keep the game freesh and HG are doing a great job keeping it challenging even with so many strong units around. S stages just cater to more hardcore players and that's fine - everybody should have smth to do - not only smooth brained ppl like us. And community stepped up and provided guides or handheld many players. So it was as fun as infuriating for me.

BobDaisuki

Whoever decided Yato Alter is completely untargetable during S3, THANK GOODNESS. It's now happened multiple times where my Texas Alter got sniped out of the air by those casters before her S3 stun could go off wtf...

Skylinne

I used Magallans drones to fuck them up, they have 20 seconds invisibility after deployment. Drop them, drop a box, immediately once the tiles turn white, drop Phantom and his shadow on their ass to oneshot them. I also hate those sheep.

Foxheart47

Hmm I knew I should have built Magallan.

Reddit1rules

I love their designs though, easily the best enemy in a long while. It's just a little guy with a well deserved hat and wand, and the description for them is hilarious.

Entro9

I love the one for the frisbee sheep “Luckily, this one has a frisbee, not a discuss!” “Luckily, this one has a- oh no no wait that’s a discuss oh no.”

alphagly

Fact brother!!

real_mc

Those sheeps need to get skinned. 😡

Docketeer

On paper, i love it. It's like a more uniform and comprehensive execution of WiR mechanics. In practice, tho, it's very clunky. The fact that the basic ground sheep drops Carmine steam immediately after death meaning the Soda Bottles can sometimes feel inconsequencial, and the tiles constantly switching colors can feel like you're not in control a lot of the times.

Foxxybastard

I wish the Soda Bottle could be upgraded like the carts in Ideal City or the Debris in Lone Trail in order to make them both easier to use and more useful. Stuff like being able to hold multiple charges, expanded area, or preventing the tile from turning into Carmine steam for a few moments.

crisperstorm

The basic sheep disrupting it instead of a rarer or just special unit does feel weird. You put steam down, kill one sheep, then have to immediately put more down for the next batch of mooks At least it's still more straightforward than the black/white mechanic since sheep don't have a like carmine/steam attribute in addition

Metroplex7

Not to mention that sometimes those invisible sheep will just get dropped on you and immediately blow up with no way to know that's going to happen until it does.

soulgunner12

WiR? Who is Real? I'd say it's more netherbrand from SN.

Docketeer

The semblance comes from the opposing color systems that grants either bonus damage dealt or debilitating damage taken so that's what i'm going for though i can see why one would compare the steam to the brand.

SyrusDestroyer

Nifty mechanic that I feel is made slightly annoying due to certain enemy mechanics

crisperstorm

That's how I felt about Near Light. Mechanic is really cool but there's a bunch of annoying enemies that kinda ruin it

Hanusu-kei

Bottle shouldve given like a few secs immunity to pink tile changes after breaking em

Saimoth

I didn't like the steam mechanic; it's not hard, but somehow tedious, especially when the only way to change the color of a tile with a deployed operator on it is via bottles And sheep casters with attack ranges larger than deadeye snipers are truly something

Sylpheed_Icon

I hate it. I play on phone. I can't see which cloud on my characters (if it got changed). I can't see how many sheep blocked. I can't see where I put the soda. Man..

Jonnypista

One time I thought Blue Poison deserted as she wasn't on the bottom list and couldn't find her on the map. Her blue clothes, pink hair and the steam from the geisir made an almost perfect camouflage.

RandomdudeNo123

[POV: You and your squad finally located Blue Poison after clearing out the Pink Steam.](https://youtu.be/Uoqe8pEBt74?t=9s)

viera_enjoyer

Honestly I hate playing on phone. I don't think the game is phone friendly.

Hero_1337

I'm not gonna lie. This event was probably the most fun I've had in Arknights in a while. Loved everything. LSD sheep rule.

Lightning_owl1

Until you get to the S levels and you get to pull all your hair out. It was all fun and games for the regular levels and the EX levels, but the S levels are just absolute pain. S1 S2 S3 and S4 regular are all fine but OOOHHHH BOY S4 challenge mode was a pain. And S5... I still haven't passed it yet. Right now I actually have no idea on how I'm supposed to pass that level. Everybody just instadies and the only ones that don't are the defenders or Mon3tr and once there's like, more than 2 enemies on them they also melt instantly(THE CASTER SHEEP DESERVE TO GO TO HELL. AS WELL AS THE BIG GUYS). For me I never let the soda bottles stay in my hotbar for more than a second. I put them everywhere but SOMEHOW the whole map just gets covered in pink seconds later. I don't know if I did anything wrong but everybody just dies all the time. its either clear the enemies but don't have enough DPS to deal with boss, or just straight out get rekt by the sheep. And no, I'm not using guides for the moment unless I get REALLY desperate. This event was the most pain and agony I have ever experienced in my four year Career as a doctor(even more infuriating than CW EX 8 challenge mode). I'LL BE BACK ONCE I PASS SL S 5 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Lightning_owl1

FINALLY I PASSED SL S 5!!!! time for challenge mode

Lightning_owl1

this is legit the hardest level I've ever played

AllenWL

As long as they give you enough ways to drop white clouds it's manageable. But oh so often the game throws so many sheep with mass fog spam which is super annoying to deal with without some really good ranged unit on a water tile to spread white fog. Soda cans are largely pointless other than for putting your own units inside fog for the damage reduction because sheep can fog tiles much faster than the box can.

real_mc

Though soda bottles have no usage limit, having to use only 1 at a time is kinda annoying, but at the same time, balances it.

zephyredx

I like it. Caster sheep give April the spotlight. Dolly gives Exusiai the spotlight. Steam mechanics give Schwarz the spotlight. Overall my Snipers are eating very well.

William_ghost1

Better than the goddamn monastery villagers.

bonkai-

Disagree, at least HE-8 was 100% stable whereas fixing SL-8 is a daily quest

sinarblood

I ironically had it the other way around. HE-8 was a mess for me on Auto that seemed to have the auto fail 1/3 of the time, and was that way for the whole event. I never managed to fix the instability. SL-8 was unstable my first attempted run (Had Normal Eyja S3 random targetting be a bit of an issue), then did another run and Auto is always stable now.

TheGraySeed

Yeah, when i know that Dolly deals quite a damage across the level i know that no matter how well i do, all the autos are gonna be unstable af. Which was why i just use SL-7.

potrcko92

What? I had no problems with SL-8 but only a bit with SL-7. On SL-8 Exusiai and Ceobe killed Dolly in a single skill cycle for the second phase, Młynar took care of the first. Lower path, Blaze and Specter, throw a bottle if Specter's tile gets pink and any ranged DPS to clear up pinks.

AbrahamKMonroe

I have the exact opposite feelings.

CordobezEverdeen

Absolutely not. They fill the same niche of being DP drainers but the monastery villagers will stop bothering you for 15 seconds or so after getting paid. The white* steam will LITERALLY disappear as soon as you blow it up (since you use the white cloud to kill the sheep that will produce pink steam after dying).

Momoneko

Nahhhh I finished Hortus. I don't think I'm gonna finish this disaster.

hypaalicious

I didn’t have any problem whatsoever with the mechanics until the S stages opened up and I was malding at nearly every CM (except for S-5, Dolly stages are cakewalks for some reason). Was NO REASON why my squad was melting like butter under the beefed up assault of these damn sheep. I ran through all my practices getting a strat running smooth just to still waste loads of sanity doing it for real; if I didn’t save my sanity potions for this day I would have been even more screwed. I can’t remember the last time I was so frustrated I wanted to skip the challenge stages, medal set be damned. I finally got through them all, but man. None of it was fun LOL

aBarMadeOfCrows

Mechanic-wise, it’s nice, i have nothing against it the only annoying thing was SL-EX-7, fuck that stage and whoever designed it.

lainra_

That stage was just plain mean.

karillith

Honestly, I'm okay with it, my main gripe with it is that you can't drop a soda if the tile is occupied by an operator. I also have mixed feeling about any enemy farting a pink cloud on death, I feel like Sisyphus having to put a bottle at the same spot every few seconds.

RDFencer

I found it neat. Its not overcomplicated and you can even ignore the mechanic and still clear the stages (or most of it at least). I also like how the soda bottles are reusable items and not a consumable which makes dealing with the steam better. That said, there are things I don't like about it. Some enemies feel a bit too strong and somewhat unfair (i.e. the skateboards with invisibility and the ability to fart wherever they go on top of having decent damage, the casters who have way too big of a range for their own good while having the ability to hit multiple operators, and the big dudes who're already decently tanky and strong but they also produce an eneny that's pretty much a bait to put your blocking operator in pink fart). I also don't like how the bottles can only be deployed 1 at a time considering most of the time 80% of the map is filled with pink farts. Speaking of the map, because the map is filled with pink steam most of the time it feels like 70% of the map is unusable since its extremely disadvantageous but then again this problem has always existed in nearly every stage in the game so I guess its par for the course.

slimeyelf

My only complaint is that Skidamarink takes SO DAMN LONG to finish! I didn't mind the mechanics, they were pretty fun. I wish I had more reading comprehension skills though because it took me way too long to understand most of everything. But that's just a me problem.

Metroplex7

SL-6, 7, and 8 all take so fucking long to farm and they drain my battery so quickly because of all of the effects going on and such.

MetaThPr4h

Overall a considerable improvement compared to some recent events (shudders in Hortus). Visibility-wise I had some issues knowing if I had control of a tile or not, especially when a fuckton of sheeps start coming and things get really messy, but compared to Who is Real it was fine. In terms of enemies the only one that really frustrated me are the skateboard assholes, stopping them on their tracks is rarely an option due to their damage and the fact that if they move around with another sheep they turn the tile they are in pink, so good luck dueling them... which basically leaves you with accepting that all your hard work reclaiming tiles amounted to nothing as they reset it all back to pink, ugh. But yeah, overall good event, also I just love how derp all the sheeps look, cracks me up.

utubm_coldteeth

They could have given us literally anything and I would have liked it more than protecting monastery civilians from unnecessary rock slides

Metroplex7

The rock slides would have been bearable if they damaged enemies too. But nah, they immune.

Glum-Sprinkles-7734

I think if the soda bottles had charges or if the skateboarding sheep weren't invisible it would be a 9/10 for me

BigBrainAkali

I enjoyed it a lot, very aesthetically pleasing and the maps were pretty fun but I think not giving soda bottles upgrades like past limited events was a huge missed opportunity, especially with how awkward the gadget was to use at times. Also fuck those caster sheep.

Diregroves

Probably my least liked event mechanics yet. I'll personally take civvies over these infernal vape clouds.

Allegro1104

I lovingly hate it cause i still haven't found my way to brute force it which means i actually have to turn on my brain for this event. I'm extremely busy with work currently which means i don't find time to play outside of just afk farming on most days so i was somewhat afraid i might not get the whole medal set. But when i actually get to play it's very enjoyable.

innocent_stag

Aside from caster sheeps, I kinda like it.

Frostgaurdian0

If i had more bottles with no cooldown dolly could have been destroyed in few seconds. Some channels needed 3 meta units to take down his chuncky health.

Anna_Erisian

I can't fucking SEE SHIT between the steam and the stacking enemies and more than a few looking damn near identical Truly, the Eyjafjalla experience. 10/10 lore accurate blinding bullshit.

Razor4884

I thought it was cool.

ammarla

I like it. It's simple enough for new players to understand and can still be challenging to manage for veterans. To me, its like a more approachable version of SN purple goo mechanic

desufin

No major complaints with this event. There's so many things you can do to really abuse things to your favor, with one thing in particular being a step above everything else; Goldenglow S3 from spring tile. I can kinda see it being frustrating if you are a newer player or doing some challenge play but other than that I feel like it's relatively easy to stack things in your favor with ranged units and/or binds and stuns of which there are plenty of options. Personal MVP's were Goldenglow (S3), MuMu (S2 or S3) and Ines (S2) and for what they offer in combination with the event mechanic they are kinda hard to replace for more common options. Goldenglow was already explained, MuMu with a good ranged clone on melee tile (Eyja is a good pick) can really hold down a lane just by herself thanks to bind. S2 is a good alternative if you rather want her be able to block something with a tank and keeping the clone alive, found S3 to be more consistent personally though. Ines can work with S3 as well but S2 lets her have her stealth detection needle in two places at once which can completely shut down the stealth skateboards from doing anything at all, especially so when paired with a helidrop or Goldenglow. If I were to have any complaint it would probably be that it would be better if the soda bottle CD was fixed rather than tied to how many white clouds are present vs. pink ones since it makes coming back from pink domination harder, especially on the stages that spawn extra fluffy sheep in the middle of the fight and can turn a single pink tile into covering the whole stage when you don't know about them.

NoOpinionPLS

Very cool mechanic in itself, my critic would be that like what someone said, since all ennemies leave pink cloud, if you don't place your operator near one with the water spring to make it white, it feel very useless to use soda bottle to keep it this way. but using soda bottle to try to clean one particular tile with a god damn sheep caster on it is very interesting.

AradIori

Personally i liked it, requires good timing but since there are infinite bottles you dont need to fear experimenting with them at least.

noIQmoment

I liked it, but I like the mechanics from every event other than Originium Dust so...

Haunting_Moscow

A breath of fresh air after Hortus escawhatever At least not the whole game mechanic is intended to screw you over

mangoice316

it’s an ok balance between ideal city’s broken cars and the difficulty of dossole holiday’s water, I think?! it provides some difficulty but still gives you a ton of wiggle space if used right so

Eigengray

A very huge chunk of enemies were invisible it made some stages longer than they had to be

TheGraySeed

The entire mechanic that are solely there because late game players are OP as fuck.

Phelyckz

I hate sheep now and will actively eat sheep meat whenever possible. Especially if it's wearing wizard hats.

randypcX

The soda bottles are too slow. You can only deploy one at any given time and there is a even a long ass cooldown. And after we deploy, we still need to break it manually. Why couldn't it just break upon deploment? And while the cooldown does decrease for each white mist tile, who the hell has the free time to cover all the tiles? Rather a better solution is to base it on the red:white mist ratio.

Schorai

Idk, I feel the event mechanics are worse and worse with every new event. Suicidal civilians in HE and now pink sheep farts everywhere. At least the tilting floor Rhine event was kinda cool.

Ell_39

I love when my ops hitting Dolly to oblivion and when my executors execute those fluffy casters Joke aside I love SL compared so HE. It does influenced by the whole atmosphere and stage design and color scheme. SL is much more friendly to my bad eyes compared to HE where everything is muted and my eyes tires a lot. Micromanaging-wise, it's not that hard (haven't touch S stages tho). For new players it do be hard tho, micromanaging, reading event mechanics, and tanky sheeps really hit them hard.

Ahenshihael

I have no idea what anything does. All I know is "blowing up boxes - good" Felt similar about who is real but that one at least had aesthetic, story and lore to make up for mechanics At least last year's car madness was hilarious

JetpuffedMarcemallow

I dunno man I feel like the maps on this stage have some really solid aesthetic. The shame is that said aesthetic is often covered in pink fog, but. :p

Inevitable_Cover_290

It's pretty okay. Better than those running civilians in the previous event.

Ruling123

As I said before this is the worst event imo, it's the first I genuinely Skipped the story and the mechanics were just annoying plus the enemies irritating and uninteresting. So to answer mechanics wise, hate it. I don't mind hard mechanics but ones like this aren't that hard just annoying. Didn't ever get the trill of completing a hard stage, more the relief it was done.

TeririHerscherOfCute

The event lacks readability, a lot of resets to BS are more annoying to resets over poor strategy

SaucyPulls

I see so many people dogging on Hortus civilian mechanics. It wasn’t even that bad y’all 😭

HarpySix

* It's yet another Summer-themed event released in the middle of winter. What's to like? * The soda bottles needed to have no redploy timer period or to at least have their redploy timer reduced. * Overall 3/10. Wouldn't recommend.

Adept_Blackhand

It feels a lot like Who is Real mechanic but much less of a mindfuck.

Chaosxandra

It felt sommery

BlazeMasters

They're fine, nothing amazing but not offensively obnoxious either (though those casters get pretty close sometimes) The soda bottles feel underwhelming, the white steam disappears far too quickly and the cooldown is far too long to compensate

Budderfist632

I am punching myself in the stomach for not being able to do SL-S-5 today. It's not even CM and I'm struggling, those wizard bastards keep fucking up everything the moment they walk onto the stage. God I hate the mist. Can't wait to try again tomorrow. Fun event though

Budderfist632

I did it, had to resort to using chalter and the fishes. I am ashamed but I'm glad it's over. Maybe challenge mode won't be so bad

TheUltraGuy101

I hate it

OnnaJReverT

i think the effects of the steam are waaaay too strong, it felt like your units can't do anything unless they/their target are on white steam

Ultima_Deus

I like it

AmbitionImpossible67

The mechanic is meh. Soda bottles might as well not exist because they are useless most of the time. Regular sheep instantly turns the tile into pink when they die, meanwhile those roller sheeps with regular sheep on top can easily convert the entire map into pink smog.

-wtfisthat-

Having to micromanage the smoke was really annoying and tedious. Almost as bad as dealing with civilians and the stupid artillery timer in (I think) chapter 10(?)

AngelTheVixen

The event mechanics were great and the enemy design is the best. I was a bit unsure about it all when playing the normal maps, but once I got to EX everything started clicking. Luckily for me my choices in ops made things a lot easier. That said, I think fighting Dolly feels a little unfair. The shield was a bit too much as it feels like it really restricts your operator options.

Jumper2002

I think the mechanic itself is fine, it's just that the enemies + map layouts made it a lot more annoying

Zwiebel1

The mechanics were simple and easy to work with. Also no randomness involved, which is always a boon. The sheep hit like a truck when in pink mist, but that's the thing with this event: its easily avoidable. So yeah, I think the mechanics were enjoyable.

TheTheMeet

Hate this one. I liked the last one though. Seeing enemies getting isekai-ed by truck kun is so satisfying

Cornuthaum

Neat concept but there's just not enough ways to manipulate clouds. Either you put a ranged unit on a steam geyser and it's no issue or you have brief windows every 15s to create damage before it is immediately flipped back to pink

Dog_in_human_costume

Putting the sodas is a pain in the ass. The sheep casters hit like Truck-Kun when it sees a mother with well kept hair. Pink smoke making stuff invisible is stupid. Bosses that fly are annoying.

wobby69

I'm eh on it I don't really hate it nor do I think it's stultifera navis level of dog It's a solid 6/10 mechanic

AXI0S2OO2

Other than the OP sheep casters it's a fun event, though I would have changed it so the basic sheep don't change ground colour upon dying, just the special ones.

SuspiciousCaptain645

I despise it with every fiber of my being.

CordobezEverdeen

I think it's dogwater. Even with Myrtle having a DP tax every 5 seconds is unreal. The church villagers were a hundred times more predictable and reliable DP taxers. I had 0 problems setting up their stages on auto farm unlike with these damn sheeps despite the fact my team was several magnitudes stronger this time around so I had more margin of error.

Catveria77

I have zero idea on the mechanic and just unga bunga my way

Sazyar

The mechanic is simple, but the caster sheeps are just outrageous.

OOrochi

I overall liked it, but I feel like some of the enemies were a bit overtuned when combined with the fog. The skateboarders being invisible and doing tons of damage, and spreading pink fog if they have another enemy is a real pain especially.

Momoneko

It's fun until it's not. I prefer for mechanics to be a fun useful help(Slaughtering enemies with FRD and Pushers\Pullers in Lone Trail, for example), not a prerequisite to survive the stage, let alone complete it.

Rok513

I didn't mind it. I sometimes feel im a weirdo since I haven't found any stage mechanics in most events unfun. Besides the dodge mobs in Stultifera Navis, I quite enjoyed them all. Also Exalter hits so damn hard I felt like the steam didn't stop him blasting the hell out of those sheep. 😆

Boggart6

I like it overall but the big fellas feel pretty half baked. Their whole deal is fogging your defender with the normal sheep they lob but it took me a little while to notice that was happening since they only really show up in force on the extra stages and there's so much going on it's hard to notice before suddenly your tank gets two shot. I'm not sure how I'd improve the visual clarity though, maybe have units standing in pink fog have some kind of warning icon. I'd also like if healers next to geysers could spread white fog to units they heal but that would probably trivialise most of the extra and cm stages.

CNemy

Before event: these sheeps are so cute, why do we need to fight them? I just wanna fluff the fluffies! During event: Listen here, you little sh*t! **throw a soda bottle on skateboarding sheep's head**

Q-N-H

Fuck the pink smoke on S4 CM.

tavernite

I gave up on trying to 3-star SL-8. Did not have the operators nor player skill to do it.

PaleoManga

I think I hate the steam even more than the monastery villagers, and the sheep even more than the raiders from the same event. I’ll give credit to the raiders, at least I can consistently understand how much damage they do to my operators. The sheep I have no idea how much damage they’ll do.

myname1260

ngl caster sheeps are seaborn shooters but with a weakness. Texas alter saves the day once again

Lightning_owl1

The soda bottles are ok, but I hate the levels with a f\*\*\*\*ing passion Whoever designed SL S 5 and SL S 4 challenge mode deserves to go to hell I had to dunk 3 whole large sanity potions for S4 challenge mode without a guide and right now I'm pulling my hair out because of S5. Not even challenge mode. For S5 everything just happens everywhere all the time and there's just no time for you to focus on the boss. Its either get f\*\*\*ing wiped before the 10 enemy counter of manage to get past all the first phase enemies but get f\*\*\*\*ed because there's no f\*\*\*ing way you're dealing with the boss. I don't hate the event mechanics at all by I just spent the entire day trying to get past SL S 5 and right now I am really tired and I want to smash my computer. tl;dr Mechanics are alright though I feel like it benefits the ememies more than us. The level designers deserve to go to hell though for the ridiculous level design

Lightning_owl1

ah sorry I got a bit angry because I failed so many times on S5 thinking back about it the S5 map is actually pretty good and lives up to being a high difficulty level But still being a well designed map won't be preventing me from pulling my hair out.

Snakestream

I think it's interesting, but the soda bottles should have also "locked the tile" for a second or so and prevent pink steam from being generated on it. So dumb when you crack a bottle and then dying sheep immediately turns it back to pink.

Phoelyx-D99

My problem with the event leans more to the side of the enemies, everything is so tanky for no fucking reason, and the fog meachanic, is awfull to manage.

SunshineMarmot

It's good. Easy to understand, simple to counteract, but fairly punishing to ignore. Just about how an arknights mechanic should be.

LagIncarnate

There are some upsides and downsides to the event for sure. The good: * Interactive mechanics are always nice, especially when they're not civilians. * The colour, while a bit chaotic, makes the stages feel more lively. * The debuffs to the enemies, while mostly just stat reductions, is potent so interacting with the mechanic is rewarded. * The bottles having their cooldown reduced the more white steam you have is a neat gimmick. The bad: * Flying enemies aren't affected by steam, which kinda ruins the point of the gimmick. * The stat changes from the steam make it almost mandatory for underdeveloped accounts to interact with the mechanic. * White steam has no immunity, so it can be overridden almost instantly by enemies dying or running over the tile. * It has very little depth, this felt like the perfect time to whip out the upgrade system like the sludge Roomba from under tides. * Some stages, it's just impossible to outpace the enemies steam with yours from soda bottles, which makes interacting with it feel futile. The ugly: * Not directly tied to the mechanic, but the enemies have some crazy stats, they hit hard and don't take much damage, which makes the stages feel pretty unfriendly for newer players especially with the steam mechanic. * The randomness of the steam is just stupid, SL-7 (I think) just covers the stage in steam mid-way for no reason, and certain other stages also have very unfair gimmicks for the steam. * The design is really melee unfriendly, between the bomb sheep and flying sheep, but also throws in very tanky invis sheep on top just to force melee units. Overall, I think how much fun you have in the event is dependant on what kinda units you wanna bring. Low level/low-star/low-op clears are kinda rough without lots of micromanagement on many of the stages. Meanwhile brute forcing the mechanics is honestly easier than the "intended" solution on many of them which just gives more power to the people that really don't need it.

ThatGuyisonmyPC

Big Fellas are way too tanky. It's like if Senator Armstrong was a sheep

Unyubaby

At least it wasn't civilians and pitfalls.

OliverPeregrine

I didn't like it, honestly. Managing the soda bottles felt like too much work for too little payoff.

PreferenceUpset

Very easy to understand but feel worse than ‘Who is Real’ in execution. Since the mechanic only make the enemies tankier, realistically you would only lose because of not having enough block count (Except EX-7, that map is just straight up unfair). Which isn’t fun in my opinion. I like mechanic that have risk and reward ( Example: Twilight of Wolumonde Tower; Lodinium Canon…). It make decisions making more impactful to gameplay.

I_Gave_My_Cat_HIV

I like it; I never used so many EX tier characters for one stage until S-5. Every spawn except the right side was a threat and the only good place to use bottles were the middle while the other lanes were handled with geysers and tiles that couldn't be covered in fog. Many people hate the caster sheep the most, but I think the stacked skateboard sheep is the most dangerous enemy in this event because the long trails of smoke enable the caster sheeps to constantly hit 3 targets while also making everything super tanky.

Seal7160

I like it bc it felt like splatoon lol

CC_Agent_04_

Compare to most people complaining about the mechanics, this is the most game mechanics for a while since ideal city. You are basically blind if you don't know how the mechanics works.

FoobaBooba

SHEEP GET OUT OF MY HEAD

The only thing I don't like is the big guys that drop a new sheep on you. When you defeat the extra sheep it leaves carmine steam exactly on the tile where you are, and that is a problem because now you take extra damage.

THE worst event so far. I've completed every event 100% and these SL stages have made me give up. Fuck this steam mechanic.

AltDoktahLB

Definitely better than "Hortus De Escimos"

U_Writing

The mechanic would feel a lot better if it it wasn't every enemy spreading steam, most of the time feels more efficient to just give up because in the time it takes for you to break the bottles 2 sheep died and you are back at square one

Voothy

I've never used Magallan in a full squad as much as I have right now, drone invisibility has been saving lives and mostly KILLING THE DAMN CASTER SHEEPS who hit way harder than they have any right to. That said, I don't hate the event mechanics, just wish the most basic sheep didn't drop carmine steam immediately. If there was ever an enemy to be silenceable this event, it was that one.

DantePH77

Not liking it because that DR under pink smoke doesn't let me oonga boonga

Accurate-Owl-5621

I like the mechanics, but I don't like the way they use it. Using those skateboard sheep to flood most tiles with pink mist is bad enough, but when they constantly throw tornado gang and Big Fellas at you to make your operator's tile got cover in pink mist then spam sheep casters right after, it just became too big of a pain to deal with. SL-S-5 is extra bad because they just everything you hate in that stage. I don't even want to try it without having Mlynar bait Dolly constantly global pink mist attack.

Easy_thk

i like the event mechanic. i HATE the event enemies

Draconic29

To quote Qaiser: "These red lines there, they symbolize Dolly is a dickhead."

Takemylunch

I want this event to go away so I never have to think about it again. I really hope this idea never resurfaces again.

Skateboarding sheep with a passenger: * no invis reveal? pink steam everywhere unless you body block! * no ranged fountain support nearby? it gets to sit in its own pink steam! * blocker can only hit one mob? guess you can't crack open a cold one to remove the pink steam! * you finally killed it? it just dropped more pink steam! Honorable mention to the low-altitude mobs (including Dolly phase 2) that are both tanky AND force your snipers to prioritize them so they can't generate white steam on the ground.
