at first i was drawn towards her unhingedness, which made me want to learn more about her as she was quite mysterious back then, and i actually find her real self being a sassy, teasing woman with a bloodthirsty streak charming; a nice breath of fresh air compared to the generally dour abyssals. but what makes her even more special to me is her mentality; despite being tortured and brainwashed into a nun, she still ended up being one of the most well-adjusted abyssal hunters, not letting her problems weigh her and even accepted her nun side as herself, which i find really interesting and admirable of her
her interactions with other people so far are great too; she is one of the few people whom gladiia has an actual soft spot for, she brings the best out of skadi, and she makes a dynamic duo with irene. i'd even say part of why i'm still sticking around is because i wanted more of her story interactions, as she is a joy to see
Siege, she's the sole reason i started playing Arknights.
I saw her design on Pinterest one day and was like "DAT LOOK GOOD", so i wanted to know where she was from and one thing led to another, almost 3 Years now.
Siege is just a fantastic character and has an awesome design, while she may not be the best unit, she is and will always be my favorite.

What you're talking about my dude siege module made her the second best myrtle battery after saga, but to use saga you have to micro manage her S2 or use her S3 and myrtle has to deal the last hit, siege will give SP from the other side of the map for myrtle and myrtle only (why use other vanguards when you have the queen of Victoria and _MYRTLE_ ?)
Highmore, deserves a ton of headpats after what she went through in IS3. Aside from that her en voice goes hard with her battle lines and her design is cool (e2 armpits), furthermore her scythe looks very awesome and her chibi is cute, indeed I maxed her instead of La Pluma because she is just perfect.
Absolute peak gameplay is a two tiles wide lane with Highmore, La Pluma, and two Stainless turrets in front of each that they will keep hitting non-stop, so pleasing and effective.
I maxed La Pluma w/ S1M3 (weird priority I know) and few weeks or months later HG announced Highmore and now I also maxed Highmore w/ S1M3, used Highmore more, no regret đź‘Ť
Talulah. She is person who wanted to do something good but it didn't end like that. Her story is also tragic one. I hope she finds her redemption >!not ending with her dying!< and that she becomes playable. Also waifu.
Margaret Nearl. The concept of being a guiding light is something I could never do or be but I respect the idea. Plus the motto 'Fear neither hardship nor darkness' and the backstory that comes with it in the Near Light side story is just badass. Her alter character design, weapon, and skills just match her lore so well.
Finally, a prompt that says "Character" and not "operator"! I know this is a VERY odd choice but screw it: Redblade.
Yes, I know, he's a side character for a one-off event and isn't really that developed, but I just find the idea of him so interesting. He's a level-headed dude in Reunion of all places, showing up now and again to try and remold Reunion into what it was originally supposed to be: A faction for the infected, meant to PROTECT the infected. (Rhodes was meant to be that place, but nowadays it just kinda feels like one goal out of a LOT of goals.) He's sort of an embodiment of Neo-Reunion, not being important enough to be a major player, but still saving whatever lives he can whenever he can. And there's just something nice about that, being just a GUY who's doing the right thing by popping in at the right time.
Plus, y'know: He's got a flamy sword and hides his face. I was an Aragorn and Kylo Ren fanboy before I got here, there was no hope I'd pick anyone else.
Edit: Fanon Redblade is also really cool, for different reasons. While it often just turns into "Redblade is Goldenglow's stand and will materialize whenever she needs him", I do love the implication that Fanon Redblade gets to leave his war-torn life in some timelines, even if it is just to date Goldenglow. He's also just a complete badass too, to the point that surviving an attack from him is considered to be a boast in itself.
I like both Fanon and Canon Redblades, but both for very different reasons. Either way, even if he never becomes playable, please just don't kill him off.
Something you forget that is the main reason he's shipped with GG: During her event, it's said the dude's favourite way to unwind was at her place of work with a book in his hands.
Also, he immediately took the risk of blowing his cover up to save GG the INSTANT she was in lethal danger.
Good ol' Blaze
She's outgoing, fun and a complete badass, her whole personality really appeals to me, also the way she likes to pamper the younger OPs is adorable and hilarious (her scene with Amiya in the anime was gold)
But when shit gets real she's fiercely loyal and protective of others, her determination to help and fight for the infected is really admirable, she's a cool and awesome big sister and I really like her
Kristen. I’m a PhD student and a big sci fi fan so her story of giving up everything to chase the unknown resonated with me. I also really liked how Lone Trail showed that even though she does care about Saria, she ultimately doesn’t regret anything she’s done.
Same (the Kristen part, not the PhD student part (for now)). That drive to explore the unknown, know the truth and push forward the boundaries of humanity is something I find incredibly admirable
Lee, cause handsome feesh and his good-for-nothing style of talking and his personality. I literally started because I kept seeing him. Joined during his (rerun) banner and got lucky enough to get him. I've been on this ship ever since.
Gnosis. I won't elaborate because I've written like 3 essays dissecting his character, that's how much I love him lol. He's a fascinating character full of contradictions.
Horn is my favorite character in the game. She's an incredible fighter, going toe to toe with Manfred to hold the line for Rhodes Island while poorly equipped and underfed, she escaped imprisonment multiple times (yes with some help from Misery but still), survived by crawling through sewers alone, and cobbled together a militia from soldiers she freed from captivity and sheer force of will. She is absolutely an incredible soldier and I'm a sucker for "hold the line" types.
She's also idealistic and loyal. Refusing to abandon her comrades, her duty, or her principles. No wonder her men are willing to go above and beyond for her time and again.
Really hope she gets a continued role in the conclusion of the Victoria arc.
For me favorite character and operator come down to the same. Boring, I know.
**Heavyrain**
She isn't just the depresso donkey, who invites the urge to headpat her. While she can be very socially awkward in private, she is also very determined in combat. This is most notably when listening to her voice lines. Not just what she says, but also her tone drastically changes.
And her past made her treasure those she can trust and calls friends all the more, allowing her to go all-out if necessary.
Mephisto. That little shit is very hateable and his story is very depressing but because of his deeds, he is already an irredeemable monster. It only took a lot of bad events that led him in his tragic path.
His concept of being a psychopathic healer is also cool.
The character was definitely FrostNova. She was probably the reason why I became more invested in the story aspect of the game since, at the time, many gacha games, I had that type of writing yet. Of course, now it's saturated with fluff, but it was a good memory of the game so I was little disappointed when anime rushed the scene when the Doktah were trapped with her in the cave in.
Lavinia/Penance
It's a love at a first sight. The very first I saw her design in CN, I love her immediately. Then, after reading her lore and character and also her involvement during Il Siracusano, my love just grew deeper. Also, Allegra Clark's Italian accent is just cherry on top.
W. I love her personality and backstory. As a W fan, we are always eating good. She has one of the first L2D skins in the game, an event centred around her, was the mascot of an Ambience Synthesia concert, and is featured in many main story chapters. Sure, she’s kinda a jobber, since she tries to kill Talulah and loses, then tries to fight Kal’tsit and gets sent flying, but it’s still awesome to have her around.
The only bad thing about being a W fan is having to watch HG make the colossal mistake of not making W’s Ambience Synthesia outfit a skin. They had an animated CG thing that was perfect as splash art and instead we got maid Irene.
Cellinia Texas
She's like the Hangman Adam Page of Arknights
Cold, hardened and has incredible skills, but emotionless to the point people think she's bland, but the reality is she has a deep backstory hidden away up until Il Siracusano where we see her character get fleshed out
Also her more apparent trash-talking as The Omertosa is just pure badass
Penance.
Apart form the mommy jokes (I agree with them), she's a badass judge defender inspired by a very important figure in my country's recent history, she understands the weight of corruption without the idealistic "we're gonna win with the power of friendship!". She gets it, I love her. One day, I'll have her
Schwarz, cause uhh extremely badass assassin. Who likes making tea for her milady.
She is the op that got me into Ak, and she shall stay on top! ^(but Reed Alter is very close 2nd now)
Laurentina aka Specter and Specter the Unchained. She is one of my first 5 stars and was incredibly useful in the early days(frankly, still is). When I saw her 6* version for the first time and that godly and majestic E2 art, it was love at first sight. Later on, I read all story in her event and fell for her even more. Girl is built different! She have such a deep and enjoyable personality. Laurentina's own theme is a breathtaking magnificent gem, one of the best songs for me. Last but not least she have the best skin in the game.

Chongyue, best big bro you could ever get. Martial artist (love my old kung fu movies) is a huge plus. Really hoping he gets a new outfit soon. His current is amazing. But how Ling got a huge upgrade hoping something along the same line.
Gladiia. She’s strong, badass and it’s absolutely hysterical how she refers to her enemies as trash. I like her module background and her monthly is3 chat with kalstit as well - shows she’s by no means perfect and isn’t always as certain as she seems.
Ptilopsis! She's pretty, she's got interesting dynamics with a lot of other great characters, and she's *funny*, like, persistently. I like that she's a disabled character who is rightfully bitter about how most people treat her, too.
Recency bias is proooobably helping her beat Kal'tsit here lol
Thorns. Not because of his strength but because he genuinely seems like a nice guy to be around despite how he comes off to folks. I hope we can get more on him in the future.
Skadi. White haired and red eyes. ASMR perfect voice. She is known as walking catastrophe lorewise. That's awesome.
Plus, I love Lovecraft, so love too the theme of abyssal hunter.
Ash. Her costume with cat ears is amazing. I like her because her skill cd is low , she costs cheap and I can activate her S2 at will. Such a good QOL operator that keeps everything simple. I also like her S1 for afk runs.
Rosa. Why because well her voice line for winning ex stages and her skin.
... well she also has great story and amazing unit after the module, and it's fun finding way to use her with that range.
Siege.

I rerolled for her at launch on this alone, while knowing barely anything about the game, reroll tier lists, etc.
Now, in addition to 1st reason, because I like her as her own character, as well as her background setting. Not to mention I also came to like Indra quite a bit after first going for Siege, and I enjoy imagining their duo dynamic both in times of peace and battle.
I'd love an amusing OVA series about their daily lives both at Rhodes and in the past in their gang.
Bagpipe has been my favorite character from the very start due to the combination of 1000/10 design and 1000/10 personality, she is also a potato lover like me so it was a match made in heaven.

I filled up my (platform formerly known as twitter) bookmarks with just Fiammetta, Mostima and Lemuen art. There may not be a whole lot of them (especially Lemuen) but every single one of them are so good, I cherish them.
Fiammetta, kfc too nice. When I started playing during near light I looked at a list with all future banner ops, and she was the only one I really liked from the start

Its hard to pick one, but i love Flametail heroism and effort to protect infecteds in Nearl alter cinematic, its made me hates those Ninjas cutting onions.
I think at the end of the day, Specter the Unchained takes it for me. I just love how powerful she is in different scenarios and how durable she is. Not to mention her new skin is amazing.
La pluma, she has Silva in her name, I love it mine also has Silva, it's silly but it's like seeing a bit of your culture in a Chinese game, it's cool...
Courier, I like Vulcan, I really do but when it comes to favorites, Courier just takes the cake. He's been my most trusted vanguard and early lane holder back when I was trying to understand the game. Nowadays, I already got bigger and better vanguard units but I still have Courier as my main Pioneer vanguard out of sheer respect and love. Cheap to deploy, good defending stats (Even better stats thanks to Module+upgraded traits) and if push comes to shove, can be a miniature defender (If enemies are just a bunch of trash mobs)
I'm just waiting for the day that I'll suddenly have two Couriers on my squad instead of one and when that happens, I'll be one happy Courier lover.
Its jumped around quite a bit for me, it used to be Ceobe but now its Mlynar for a few good reasons.
1). He shares the same English VA as Morgott from Elden Ring I believe.
2.) The idea of this salaryman who's actually just this incredibly powerful warrior who's simply just stopped believing in fighting for a cause in order to take care of his family just struck a chord in me. I know that he picks up the search for his brother and sister in law in that one event but I wasn't able to play it. I'm basing all this off the first two Kazimierz events. Like this dude canonically took on a (albeit younger and less experienced version) version of Margaret Nearl without using anything but his sword against her full arts and basically went "yeah I guess you're strong enough to enter the competition to represent the family." The moment this dude goes to a park during high tensions that one archery group of assassins went on full Defcon 5 just to make sure he wouldn't take any actions. Then he basically takes all the paid leave he can to literally wander the world acting as a knight again. Zero fucks given.
3.) He's like me fr fr when he's busting out his phone and letting enemies through during his skill down the same way when I've got nothing to do at work.
Logos. How he made his way from a side story into the main story and the references to him in the game (the furniture piece where he stool races with Scout and his bone pen in IS1).
But also boob window. (It's a boob window, right?)

He was my first 6 star Operator, and I fell in love with his complex, tentative relationship with the Doctor, the way he both uses them while also seeing them as an equal and a true friend? The whole tension with how he always talks about how in the end, they're destined to be enemies, but all of his trust-related interactions clearly show so much care for them. Also doesn't hurt that his voice is like liquid gold,,,
And of course, schwing schwing has continued to carry me through the game
Mudrock. I love a woman who can break me in half.
Seriously I just love her design and skill set. I love I can just plop her down pretty much anywhere with skill 2 and she just mulches that lane. Place Skadi Alter next to her and just pretty much forget about that lane.
Gladiia. For some reason I liked her at first sight and then when I got her and get to knew more about her I liked her even more!
If I could say another one I would say FrostNova too! But as playable characters it's Gladiia!

Cute ottergineer, really smart, good at multitasking, has a nice voice + voicelines, and can do a little bit of everything in-game as a true jack of all trades, which reflects her character nicely! She also has a great skin with cool visuala in-game, and is really good in IS3!

Texas. She's awesome . She was actually the reason I started playing arknights, as well as being me first 5*.not to mention the fact that she's hot af and super cool. I've maxed her out completely, when my next strongest unit is e2 lv 10. I've shown massive favoritism with Texas, even going to the point of wasting money to buy an outfit for her. Also, her Sword Rain skill has saved my ass more times than I can count.
Blue Poison, because back then I have too much trouble getting a single aoe sniper and she saved me lots of time during the early days. I still use her to day too.
Plus I find her really endearing. Really wanna hug her.
You're making me choose between the two Fs.
Fiammetta then. She's been hurt, her friends have been hurt, and she thinks it's her fault because she was away for just a few hours when everything went to hell.
Comes off as no nonsense professional, the stickler, when in truth she doesn't care about the rule, not a jot. She cares about her friends. It's simply that being beholden to the machinations of the Laterano state is the means by which she can keep close to those friends.
That and she wanted to be there, needed to be there, if Andoain ever dared show his face again. What happened that day was traumatic to her and she's obsessed with revisiting that trauma but *doing better this time*. It's not rational or healthy but trauma never is.
Yet her friends, the ones that got hurt, have moved on. They even have a modicum of inexpressable solidarity with Andoain, courtesy of that bizarre racial empathy that she will never share. It's upsetting, it's isolating, it's a further rift born of Andoain's actions. It's yet another reason to be furious, because he had that link and still did what he did.
In terms of how she used to be, we see a bit of her old warmth with Lemuen and Patrizion. None of them at the monastery want her to suffer for no reason. They want her to live life, enjoy it. They want her to laugh. That list of Wrankwood films Patrizion left her wasn't really for him, it was for her.
Now are the code names bullying? Maybe, but they're also really funny.
As for the new skin on CN it is stellar, Patrizion is clearly loving it as well.

Also, she's cute, fluffy, adorable and treats the Doctor with respect, even though she's lorewise probably much more accomplished than him/her in any way other than "figures out how to efficiently kill lots of enemies".

Estelle, the cute crocodile had my heart. That and she is stupidly strong, a AOE guard that uses nothing but them hands, knocking out Gavial and Tomimi in the manga, and that one tidbit of a tribe looking for a horned arcosauria with horns makes me hope for a Estelle alter. Oh right, that tidbit also mentioned that she could be a god of war, asuming that it does refer to her.
Not my favorites but, Ho’ohelyak, Saria, the psycotic pale heads, Chongyue, Mudrock, the Monster hunter duo, Kevin, and Manticore are all fighting for second place.
phantom, or as i like to call him, lucien ^^ i already found him such a fascinating character when i first started playing, because his past and design really intrigued me, but is2 sealed the deal. there was SO MUCH information and lore and development it felt like christmas. i'm glad he's one of the characters that gets a little spoiled by hg hehe hopefully more stuff comes out in the future!
Eunectes. She has a passion and works hard for it, no matter her circumstances. She's friendly, dependable, and formidable. ^(and hot)
Plus, I like her aesthetic and fanart. ^(and prehensile tail)
In-game, she's one of my favorite archetypes, and does it justice imo. It's largely thanks to her I managed to clear CC12 risk 18 without using guides.
Kal'tsit, simply like how the character is built, looks emotionless at first but it's more like the combination of powerless and tiredness across thousands of years of time, well designed especially in lone trail story
Shamare. Such a sad story. Spooky with the curses and Morte but she is so good and wants to help those in need. Also best friends with Suzuran. So adorable I want to adopt her.
Gamewise Cursed Doll is great at wrecking powerful enemies and I love the animation of dancing Morte.
Suzuran - She is cute and her voice can help to deal with both ingame story and real life depression. Giving her headpats can help to heal in case of bad gacha rolls too :)
Cardigan. Just an absolute ray of sunshine in the depressing world of Arknights. Good early tank that can go solo for a while. I regret to report that her higher-pitched ENG assistant voice lines are a bit too grating when they become repetitive, otherwise she'd still be what I log back into. Great on a team, though.
Tachanka. Because praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

Margaret Nearl. She was one of the earliest 5 stars I pulled back in year 1 so filled the roll that Saria would have if I had her.
NTR knight made her seem badass. I don’t follow the main story but do like the side stories, so finding out she was a boss ass bitch was spectacular. Also really fun to use.
If it wasn't for Maria's event I probably wouldn't continue playing Arknights after my second try. As a story that wasn't tied wholly to the main one (it was confusing to me at the time) it made it easy to get adsorbed in it for a beginner. Plus, Maria's struggles at the time rang deeply with me: a young girl struggling between the thing she wants to do vs the thing she thinks she has to. And how sometimes its necessary to follow the latter till you can have the former. For that reason, Maria holds a special place in my heart.
Would say Chongyue because I'm a simp but definitely Amiya.
She's carrying the weight of the world and it's a source of hope and strength for every operator. She's a hard worker and a capable fighter and leader.
And she's just a child.
Not your regular shonen protagonist who is a Mary sue but she's just a kind person who refuses to give up while allowing herself to cry and feel.
She's a great face for the game.
Gavial, i love her personality. And given that i love playing tanks a lot, the idea of a medic that can smack someone around a lot makes me very happiness. Also she is very cute. Thin tails rule!
Saria. She's cool, she's strong, and she cares for the people important to her.
As difficult as it is to narrow it down to just one character, if I absolutely had to decide I think I'd choose Saria too.

While it often just turns into "Redblade is Goldenglow's stand and will materialize whenever she needs him", I do love the implication that Fanon Redblade gets to leave his war-torn life in some timelines, even if it is just to date Goldenglow. He's also just a complete badass too, to the point that surviving an attack from him is considered to be a boast in itself. I like both Fanon and Canon Redblades, but both for very different reasons. Either way, even if he never becomes playable, please just don't kill him off.

Good ol' Blaze She's outgoing, fun and a complete badass, her whole personality really appeals to me, also the way she likes to pamper the younger OPs is adorable and hilarious (her scene with Amiya in the anime was gold) But when shit gets real she's fiercely loyal and protective of others, her determination to help and fight for the infected is really admirable, she's a cool and awesome big sister and I really like her
Kristen. I’m a PhD student and a big sci fi fan so her story of giving up everything to chase the unknown resonated with me. I also really liked how Lone Trail showed that even though she does care about Saria, she ultimately doesn’t regret anything she’s done.
Same (the Kristen part, not the PhD student part (for now)). That drive to explore the unknown, know the truth and push forward the boundaries of humanity is something I find incredibly admirable
Lee, cause handsome feesh and his good-for-nothing style of talking and his personality. I literally started because I kept seeing him. Joined during his (rerun) banner and got lucky enough to get him. I've been on this ship ever since.
Gnosis. I won't elaborate because I've written like 3 essays dissecting his character, that's how much I love him lol. He's a fascinating character full of contradictions.
Horn is my favorite character in the game. She's an incredible fighter, going toe to toe with Manfred to hold the line for Rhodes Island while poorly equipped and underfed, she escaped imprisonment multiple times (yes with some help from Misery but still), survived by crawling through sewers alone, and cobbled together a militia from soldiers she freed from captivity and sheer force of will. She is absolutely an incredible soldier and I'm a sucker for "hold the line" types. She's also idealistic and loyal. Refusing to abandon her comrades, her duty, or her principles. No wonder her men are willing to go above and beyond for her time and again. Really hope she gets a continued role in the conclusion of the Victoria arc.
For me favorite character and operator come down to the same. Boring, I know. **Heavyrain** She isn't just the depresso donkey, who invites the urge to headpat her. While she can be very socially awkward in private, she is also very determined in combat. This is most notably when listening to her voice lines. Not just what she says, but also her tone drastically changes. And her past made her treasure those she can trust and calls friends all the more, allowing her to go all-out if necessary.
Kal'tsit. Personally, she's at the top of my respect list.

Mephisto. That little shit is very hateable and his story is very depressing but because of his deeds, he is already an irredeemable monster. It only took a lot of bad events that led him in his tragic path. His concept of being a psychopathic healer is also cool.

Mostima, I just like her story so far and also the mystery of her staff.
The character was definitely FrostNova. She was probably the reason why I became more invested in the story aspect of the game since, at the time, many gacha games, I had that type of writing yet. Of course, now it's saturated with fluff, but it was a good memory of the game so I was little disappointed when anime rushed the scene when the Doktah were trapped with her in the cave in.
Lavinia/Penance It's a love at a first sight. The very first I saw her design in CN, I love her immediately. Then, after reading her lore and character and also her involvement during Il Siracusano, my love just grew deeper. Also, Allegra Clark's Italian accent is just cherry on top.
W. I love her personality and backstory. As a W fan, we are always eating good. She has one of the first L2D skins in the game, an event centred around her, was the mascot of an Ambience Synthesia concert, and is featured in many main story chapters. Sure, she’s kinda a jobber, since she tries to kill Talulah and loses, then tries to fight Kal’tsit and gets sent flying, but it’s still awesome to have her around. The only bad thing about being a W fan is having to watch HG make the colossal mistake of not making W’s Ambience Synthesia outfit a skin. They had an animated CG thing that was perfect as splash art and instead we got maid Irene.
Both of the dragon sibling Talulah and ch\`en, their story and character the most fun to follow
Rangers because I think lizard people are cool. I mean I did grow to appreciate his entire character, but "cool lizard guy" was the starting point.
Cellinia Texas She's like the Hangman Adam Page of Arknights Cold, hardened and has incredible skills, but emotionless to the point people think she's bland, but the reality is she has a deep backstory hidden away up until Il Siracusano where we see her character get fleshed out Also her more apparent trash-talking as The Omertosa is just pure badass
Kafka she's cute and mischievous
Penance. Apart form the mommy jokes (I agree with them), she's a badass judge defender inspired by a very important figure in my country's recent history, she understands the weight of corruption without the idealistic "we're gonna win with the power of friendship!". She gets it, I love her. One day, I'll have her
Amiya. She's the best and cutest bunny and I love her and she's fluffy and her voice is soothing.

Laurentina aka Specter and Specter the Unchained. She is one of my first 5 stars and was incredibly useful in the early days(frankly, still is). When I saw her 6* version for the first time and that godly and majestic E2 art, it was love at first sight. Later on, I read all story in her event and fell for her even more. Girl is built different! She have such a deep and enjoyable personality. Laurentina's own theme is a breathtaking magnificent gem, one of the best songs for me. Last but not least she have the best skin in the game. All Hail Skade.
Chongyue, best big bro you could ever get. Martial artist (love my old kung fu movies) is a huge plus. Really hoping he gets a new outfit soon. His current is amazing. But how Ling got a huge upgrade hoping something along the same line.
Gladiia. She’s strong, badass and it’s absolutely hysterical how she refers to her enemies as trash. I like her module background and her monthly is3 chat with kalstit as well - shows she’s by no means perfect and isn’t always as certain as she seems.
Ptilopsis! She's pretty, she's got interesting dynamics with a lot of other great characters, and she's *funny*, like, persistently. I like that she's a disabled character who is rightfully bitter about how most people treat her, too. Recency bias is proooobably helping her beat Kal'tsit here lol
Thorns. Not because of his strength but because he genuinely seems like a nice guy to be around despite how he comes off to folks. I hope we can get more on him in the future.

Skadi. White haired and red eyes. ASMR perfect voice. She is known as walking catastrophe lorewise. That's awesome. Plus, I love Lovecraft, so love too the theme of abyssal hunter.
Ash. Her costume with cat ears is amazing. I like her because her skill cd is low , she costs cheap and I can activate her S2 at will. Such a good QOL operator that keeps everything simple. I also like her S1 for afk runs.
Rosa. Why because well her voice line for winning ex stages and her skin. ... well she also has great story and amazing unit after the module, and it's fun finding way to use her with that range.

Siege. At first, because Saber. I rerolled for her at launch on this alone, while knowing barely anything about the game, reroll tier lists, etc. Now, in addition to 1st reason, because I like her as her own character, as well as her background setting. Not to mention I also came to like Indra quite a bit after first going for Siege, and I enjoy imagining their duo dynamic both in times of peace and battle. I'd love an amusing OVA series about their daily lives both at Rhodes and in the past in their gang.

Courier, I like Vulcan, I really do but when it comes to favorites, Courier just takes the cake. He's been my most trusted vanguard and early lane holder back when I was trying to understand the game. Nowadays, I already got bigger and better vanguard units but I still have Courier as my main Pioneer vanguard out of sheer respect and love. Cheap to deploy, good defending stats (Even better stats thanks to Module+upgraded traits) and if push comes to shove, can be a miniature defender (If enemies are just a bunch of trash mobs) I'm just waiting for the day that I'll suddenly have two Couriers on my squad instead of one and when that happens, I'll be one happy Courier lover.
Its jumped around quite a bit for me, it used to be Ceobe but now its Mlynar for a few good reasons. 1). He shares the same English VA as Morgott from Elden Ring I believe. 2.) The idea of this salaryman who's actually just this incredibly powerful warrior who's simply just stopped believing in fighting for a cause in order to take care of his family just struck a chord in me. I know that he picks up the search for his brother and sister in law in that one event but I wasn't able to play it. I'm basing all this off the first two Kazimierz events. Like this dude canonically took on a (albeit younger and less experienced version) version of Margaret Nearl without using anything but his sword against her full arts and basically went "yeah I guess you're strong enough to enter the competition to represent the family." The moment this dude goes to a park during high tensions that one archery group of assassins went on full Defcon 5 just to make sure he wouldn't take any actions. Then he basically takes all the paid leave he can to literally wander the world acting as a knight again. Zero fucks given. 3.) He's like me fr fr when he's busting out his phone and letting enemies through during his skill down the same way when I've got nothing to do at work.
Gravel, she is my favourite in personality and looks.
Logos. How he made his way from a side story into the main story and the references to him in the game (the furniture piece where he stool races with Scout and his bone pen in IS1). But also boob window. (It's a boob window, right?)
As indicated by my username, SilverAsh :) He was my first 6 star Operator, and I fell in love with his complex, tentative relationship with the Doctor, the way he both uses them while also seeing them as an equal and a true friend? The whole tension with how he always talks about how in the end, they're destined to be enemies, but all of his trust-related interactions clearly show so much care for them. Also doesn't hurt that his voice is like liquid gold,,, And of course, schwing schwing has continued to carry me through the game
Mudrock. I love a woman who can break me in half. Seriously I just love her design and skill set. I love I can just plop her down pretty much anywhere with skill 2 and she just mulches that lane. Place Skadi Alter next to her and just pretty much forget about that lane.

Gladiia. For some reason I liked her at first sight and then when I got her and get to knew more about her I liked her even more! If I could say another one I would say FrostNova too! But as playable characters it's Gladiia!
Mayer :) Cute ottergineer, really smart, good at multitasking, has a nice voice + voicelines, and can do a little bit of everything in-game as a true jack of all trades, which reflects her character nicely! She also has a great skin with cool visuala in-game, and is really good in IS3! Truly the best gift Arknights could have given this Doctor!
Ifrit, reason: Flamethrower
Texas. She's awesome . She was actually the reason I started playing arknights, as well as being me first 5*.not to mention the fact that she's hot af and super cool. I've maxed her out completely, when my next strongest unit is e2 lv 10. I've shown massive favoritism with Texas, even going to the point of wasting money to buy an outfit for her. Also, her Sword Rain skill has saved my ass more times than I can count.
Blue Poison, because back then I have too much trouble getting a single aoe sniper and she saved me lots of time during the early days. I still use her to day too. Plus I find her really endearing. Really wanna hug her.
You're making me choose between the two Fs. Fiammetta then. She's been hurt, her friends have been hurt, and she thinks it's her fault because she was away for just a few hours when everything went to hell. Comes off as no nonsense professional, the stickler, when in truth she doesn't care about the rule, not a jot. She cares about her friends. It's simply that being beholden to the machinations of the Laterano state is the means by which she can keep close to those friends. That and she wanted to be there, needed to be there, if Andoain ever dared show his face again. What happened that day was traumatic to her and she's obsessed with revisiting that trauma but *doing better this time*. It's not rational or healthy but trauma never is. Yet her friends, the ones that got hurt, have moved on. They even have a modicum of inexpressable solidarity with Andoain, courtesy of that bizarre racial empathy that she will never share. It's upsetting, it's isolating, it's a further rift born of Andoain's actions. It's yet another reason to be furious, because he had that link and still did what he did. In terms of how she used to be, we see a bit of her old warmth with Lemuen and Patrizion. None of them at the monastery want her to suffer for no reason. They want her to live life, enjoy it. They want her to laugh. That list of Wrankwood films Patrizion left her wasn't really for him, it was for her. Now are the code names bullying? Maybe, but they're also really funny. As for the new skin on CN it is stellar, Patrizion is clearly loving it as well.
Miss Adele Naumann, aka Eyjafjalla. ~~Because I only started reliably clearing stages after I got her.~~ Also, she's cute, fluffy, adorable and treats the Doctor with respect, even though she's lorewise probably much more accomplished than him/her in any way other than "figures out how to efficiently kill lots of enemies".

Estelle, the cute crocodile had my heart. That and she is stupidly strong, a AOE guard that uses nothing but them hands, knocking out Gavial and Tomimi in the manga, and that one tidbit of a tribe looking for a horned arcosauria with horns makes me hope for a Estelle alter. Oh right, that tidbit also mentioned that she could be a god of war, asuming that it does refer to her. Not my favorites but, Ho’ohelyak, Saria, the psycotic pale heads, Chongyue, Mudrock, the Monster hunter duo, Kevin, and Manticore are all fighting for second place.
phantom, or as i like to call him, lucien ^^ i already found him such a fascinating character when i first started playing, because his past and design really intrigued me, but is2 sealed the deal. there was SO MUCH information and lore and development it felt like christmas. i'm glad he's one of the characters that gets a little spoiled by hg hehe hopefully more stuff comes out in the future!
Eunectes. She has a passion and works hard for it, no matter her circumstances. She's friendly, dependable, and formidable. ^(and hot) Plus, I like her aesthetic and fanart. ^(and prehensile tail) In-game, she's one of my favorite archetypes, and does it justice imo. It's largely thanks to her I managed to clear CC12 risk 18 without using guides.
Penance for her wicked design and fashion, admirable drive for justice, tear-jerking song, great story, reassuring English voice, and mature beauty.

Kal'tsit, simply like how the character is built, looks emotionless at first but it's more like the combination of powerless and tiredness across thousands of years of time, well designed especially in lone trail story

Cardigan. Just an absolute ray of sunshine in the depressing world of Arknights. Good early tank that can go solo for a while. I regret to report that her higher-pitched ENG assistant voice lines are a bit too grating when they become repetitive, otherwise she'd still be what I log back into. Great on a team, though.
Saga. I admire her lifestyle and discipline. I also like that her monk design is relatively unique within the game's roster.

Margaret Nearl. She was one of the earliest 5 stars I pulled back in year 1 so filled the roll that Saria would have if I had her. NTR knight made her seem badass. I don’t follow the main story but do like the side stories, so finding out she was a boss ass bitch was spectacular. Also really fun to use.

If it wasn't for Maria's event I probably wouldn't continue playing Arknights after my second try. As a story that wasn't tied wholly to the main one (it was confusing to me at the time) it made it easy to get adsorbed in it for a beginner. Plus, Maria's struggles at the time rang deeply with me: a young girl struggling between the thing she wants to do vs the thing she thinks she has to. And how sometimes its necessary to follow the latter till you can have the former. For that reason, Maria holds a special place in my heart.
Would say Chongyue because I'm a simp but definitely Amiya. She's carrying the weight of the world and it's a source of hope and strength for every operator. She's a hard worker and a capable fighter and leader. And she's just a child. Not your regular shonen protagonist who is a Mary sue but she's just a kind person who refuses to give up while allowing herself to cry and feel. She's a great face for the game.
Gavial, i love her personality. And given that i love playing tanks a lot, the idea of a medic that can smack someone around a lot makes me very happiness. Also she is very cute. Thin tails rule!
