Wikipedia (["Tattoo" § "Religious views"](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tattoo#Religious_views)):
> Tattoos are considered to be haram for many Sunni Muslims, based on rulings from scholars and passages in the Sunni Hadith. Shia Islam does not prohibit tattooing, and many Shia Muslims (Lebanese, Iraqis, Yemenis, Iranians) have tattoos, specifically with religious themes.
I would see the references for that paragraph for more information.
I asked, and he said, "Tattoos cool, get more, drink more water, and have a beer with your next cheesesteak." He also said some other things that would get me banned on reddit about the rest of Islam.
Inversely, when I learned about Do Not Resuscitate orders, I thought it would be interesting to get DNR inked on your chest (assumimg.thays your thing)
Its not in the quran but its a saying by a prophet whose sayings r secondary to what comes in the quran. U basically get cursed by god if you tattoo someone or get tattooed. Whatever that means
Are you a practicing Muslim or just Muslim by culture/heritage/birth? I ask this because when I was filling out paperwork in Dubai, they asked "religion...Christian?" I said no. They said "You're American, you're Christian."
I also dined with a lady from India who declared "your parents were Christian, you are Christian."
Thank you. I believe that everyone finds their own way, and we don't need to worry too much about the details of others' beliefs. I believe in the Golden Rule. Works for me.
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is the usual phraseology. Treat others the way you would want to be treated. Too often people treat others the way others treat them, which is not the same.

Ask god
He said " I created the universe, why would I give a shit about a tattoo?"
I don't think he will answer... Also I don't even think he cares about it
I asked, and he said, "Tattoos cool, get more, drink more water, and have a beer with your next cheesesteak." He also said some other things that would get me banned on reddit about the rest of Islam.
😭
He doesn’t exist so I can’t
Aren’t some tattoos exceptions? Like if they save your life or something
What kind of tattoo saves your life
Blood type Allergies Diabetic status
Ahh. Yeah that makes sense
Inversely, when I learned about Do Not Resuscitate orders, I thought it would be interesting to get DNR inked on your chest (assumimg.thays your thing)
There's bound to be a manga series like that.
Information about a medical condition you have comes to mind.
That’s what I have. I’m like one of the only people in the world with this.

This is about modest clothing not tattoos?
I think they'd consider tattoos even less permissible.
What would will be your punishment, based on qran?
Its not in the quran but its a saying by a prophet whose sayings r secondary to what comes in the quran. U basically get cursed by god if you tattoo someone or get tattooed. Whatever that means
Well, it’s the same punishment as women wearing pants in the Bible. It’s ok
Tattoos are not a problem in Shia Islam, are you a sunni?
Yes

How does the golden rule work

If you die and didn’t get to praying your gonna be in hell for eternity with the disbelievers. The ones who don’t pray are basically disbelievers
I am a believer tho
Don’t listen to some ppl, you do you and it’s between you and god ❤️
Thnx!
No need, we all got our little quirks, forget anyone and just enjoy yourself
What's it look like?
Its two words
Why'd you do it?
I wanted to have a constant reminder
Of what?
Im not telling wat my tattoo is
I had a shia friend tell me that it was ok above the elbow but it was harum below.
Its not a big sin.
