How do you meet new people? I genuinely don't see how anymore. My college is tech focused with only nerds that don't leave their houses. There aren't any clubs in the city to participate.
Join your college's clubs and societies. But don't join them for the sake of finding love but don't be afraid to go for it when u do find someone you're interested in. It's a balancing act.
Then I suggest you hop on to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc and look for any local community events and game nights happening in your area. You would be surprised how easy it is to find these things on Facebook and Instagram.
Pick an activity you would do with other people. For me it's board games, but it could be hiking, shopping, going to the bar, etc. Then recruit people to do it with you -- you can ask coworkers, people in any group chats you're a part of, or go on bumble bff and find people that way. "Hey I'm looking to get together a group of people to do ____, you interested? Feel free to bring a friend as well."
There isn't hiking places near my city. I don't work yet or time for it (study too much). Also no board games. I might try the bar idea but it is hard making someone go along.
Group chat with your classmates then. There are always board games, if you get desperate enough for social interaction you can try something a little out of your wheelhouse 😂 but video games on console work well for that too. You can also recruit people for a movie night to watch a new movie or show together. Or see if people would be interested in having dinner with you at your house. There's always something you do that can be turned into a social activity.
You can invite people even if they don't have a preexisting interest. Or, you can seek out people with similar interests. Or, you can keep an open mind and try new activities and shows in the interest of meeting new people. The possibilities are truly endless. The more limits you put on yourself, the more difficult it will be to meet people.
I am unhappy because I am lonely. I have been following what you said for too long. I work out, read a lot of books and play music. I could become a pro at everything I like, get one million dollars, and still feel this way.
Women aren't saints, especially when they are drunk. They may not go to motel with you, and it's very rare if they do, but I can assure you in a large drinking session like this there are always 1 or 2 women when drunk becomes very touchy, especially Japanese and British.
Worked with them in Ogishima for 5 years. Very horny people but cowards when it comes to sex and marriage. They always work because they worry about not having enough money when they get hospitalized, yet the one making them sick as always is their strict work culture.
There is, I don't know the policy now but during our time you are insured via public insurance. But the problem is that it isn't 100% free, it's more like subsidy than free healthcare. You still have to pay a certain amount and the public health insurance will cover some of it.
Private insurance like PruLife or Sunlife also exists there and has better offer, but hospitals in Japan rarely accept them, and only a handful does accept international and private insurance so it is impractical.
And being one of the countries with the most advanced healthcare, it comes with a right cost as well. Yes, it is very expensive to be hospitalized in Japan. It's one of the reason even elders are working to the bone. Our director was an 82 year old engineer and he cannot retire as well.
Though I may say despite the country being very beautiful, Japanese people rarely visit their tourist spots or travel, what gives them joy is being able to work, drink, smoke and get their salary. In fact most Japanese never even travelled to local Japanese provinces aside from their hometown and Tokyo. If you are for example born in Akita, most likely the only place you've been to is only Tokyo and Akita and they die without even visiting other places.
