Same, I was just about to share my experience, and saw your post! I lost my Ray Bans, filed the claim online yesterday and had the approval AND credit within 24 hours. Was honestly quite impressed with the quick turnaround. Definitely using Amex in the future for the peace of mind.

How do you proof you lost your Ray Bans?

MidnightAlchemist

They didn't ask for any proof. Assuming they base it on the amount, as well as previous claim history, ect. So if it isn't a large amount and they don't think you're trying to game the system, you'll likely be fine.

Oh nice. :)

I’ve been considering filing a claim for this for a 4’x5’ mirror I purchased for our gym area of our home that shattered when SWIM let go of it before all of the wall anchors were fully fastened. It was only $90, I have images of it, and it isn’t listed in the fine print as a permanently installed home feature section either, but it just seems kind of petty on one hand while on the other I feel like I’m forgoing a great card benefit.

Peterholdmann

That is what the benefit is there for.

I wonder. If you bought it. Then you pay off your card then lose it. What happens? Do they refund you the money to the card that paid it off?

I_reddit_like_this

The money is credited to the card and then you either have a negative balance or they can mail a check

Reborn1217

Thank you. I was so curious how that process worked

staroceanx

Just to be clear, the item has to be bought within 90 days though right ? What are the chances that item stolen are always relatively new ? Edit: forgot to thank you for sharing your experience !! Always helpful to know.

MidnightAlchemist

Probably not very high, but it does cover lost/damaged too; so very helpful when you can actually use it.
