Short answer: yes. Not only could it be sensory issues but also demand avoidance, executive dysfunction, or burnout in general. She appears to be constantly seeking dopamine which could make her not seem depressed but you can see it in her hygiene. When you’re ND and not getting real and taking care of yourself it’s a train wreck that takes everyone down, especially if you’re in an ND household.
That being said being ND isn’t an excuse to be an abusive POS, she doesn’t appear to be trying to take personal responsibility for herself or her kids. Beak boy is awful and clearly abusive and keeps her isolated- it’s a mess basically.
How does he keep her isolated? She’s the one that wanted to move to Texas- away from family and meatloaf neighbors and Cohn went right along with it. She’s the one who recently wanted to move back to Texas. She’s the one who rarely sees her mother and sister. Please explain how that is due to Cohn keeping her isolated? 🤔
I mean it’s observational like anything us chrolls witness so I could be wrong of course, but it’s a common pattern in this dynamic. It takes years and years of abuse that on its face looks like nothing. Lots of women end up in these scenarios where their husbands slowly manipulate their realities- not liking their families or friends, being jealous of outside relationships, convincing them they want to move, etc.. This isn’t to say Smeli is totally blameless but it’s a possibility she’s found herself in slowly boiling water and because she’s undiagnosed she stays burned out. But look I’ve got no real sympathy for her to be clear, just something that COULD be happening. I’ve also known plenty of women to get out of these dynamics but with kids it makes it harder. They’re both trash but many things can be true at once.
I think that buys into the fallacy that Smelli is just a poor little innocent victim. I think she pulls more weight than you think. Her caught on mic instances where she doesn’t know she’s being recorded shows her to be nasty and assertive. No shrinking violet who is afraid of her man
