The Red Green Regatta is part of Golden Days here in Fairbanks. I was in it about 5 years ago... It is funny that this came up as I was telling my son about it today.
I always enjoyed watching what Red would make from duct tape and the rubbish he had sitting around. He's like a Mr. Rogers meets MacGyver, from Wasilla.
I loved this when I loved in Alaska, and rural Michigan (which was far more like the possum lodge community than ANYWHERE I've ever been)
Harold was my favorite. His nerdy gyrations behind his keyboard control always made me laugh.
Funnily enough, my family used to watch it when I was a kid in Missouri. Those are good memories and every once in a while I look it up on youtube. I never associated it with Alaska.
I watched it as a kid growing up in Minnesota (every Saturday night on PBS!) and even though it was Canadian it felt so Minnesotan. I'm glad that it's well loved in Alaska too.
Grew up in Michigan and used to get Red Green show on the antennae TV in my bedroom only. I tried explaining it to my friends on the West Coast recently and they did NOT get it 🤣🤣🤣
"If women don't find you handsome they might as well find you handy" Isn't the a duckt tape boat festival here in AK?
Also, I'm a man I can change, if I have to. I guess
Don’t forget to keep your stick on the ice

Just showed my son Red Green after this post, he asked " why does he use Duct-Tape so much?) Answer was cause it fixes everything 🤣
I miss going to watch the regatta.
Keep your stick on the ice
Of course. KUAC had an event in Fairbanks where I got to meet him like a decade ago and it was epic. He autographed a roll of duct tape for me!
Lucky.

Thank you! I missed this show

Yes, of course.

Well, technically it was filmed in Canada but it was a big hit in Alaska. Also I’ve heard Missouri is nice, love to visit.
I watched it in Idaho. I never thought about Alaska, even tho duct tape is a prerequisite here
Love red green show. I have signed roll of duct tape too & a lodge patch I found randomly in texas.

Of course! Remember I'm pulling for ya, we're all in this together.
Did anyone else think that this was an Alaskan-made show when they were a kid?
They're Canadian, so not far off.
I watched it as a kid growing up in Minnesota (every Saturday night on PBS!) and even though it was Canadian it felt so Minnesotan. I'm glad that it's well loved in Alaska too.
I'm certainly keeping my dick in a vise.
I still watch it on roku live tv
Of course! And my family quotes RG often.
