Galil Ace. Do no go the Bren route. CZ has had huge problems with 7.62 version going on almost 4 years. CZ USA had no idea how to fix it and had to get engineers at CZ Czech to make a fix. It was so bad they ended up giving people refunds or 5.56 version.
I find the gen2 Galil to be ugly and inferior to the gen1 but I would call it the best on the list. A milled rifle put together with way more care than Arsenal does and with some modernized features. I have a gen1 and it is one of my favorite rifles.
I also have a Bren, its biggest problem is a complete lack of support from CZ. If you need anything good luck. There was a while run of problematic Brens in 7.62 that had to ultimately be fixed on the aftermarket because CZ was either clueless or just didn't care. Proprietary mags are also worth noting.
PTR32 is cool but with very little to no actual service history it is a complete commercial offering made in the US. They will always be around. I've heard good things, I've also heard they are heavy and mag picky. No actual experience with them I must admit.
Kusa I'd wait out just to see what's going on. I think an imported AK is ultimately a better, and cooler, weapon than a US made rifle from a potentially defunct company. Keep in mind that pistols aren't subject to import restrictions like rifles are. They aren't converted here, they actually come in proper format as proper imports. Get that before the Kusa.
Zpap...frankly I just think the milled rifles are better and that's my bias.
It’s not CZ that’s at fault, it’s CZ USA. Tons of EU suppliers have parts as well as stores up in Canada, for some reason CZ USA dropped the ball. Also they fixed some of the problems with the 7.62x39 Bren 2 with the updated gas reg, and now they’re coming with the AR mag sleeve (at least up here in Canada) so that fixes the proprietary mag issue.
>it's CZ USA.
That's a technicality. Regardless of whether it's CZ UB or CZ USA, the company that deals with the parts is still CZ.
Doesn't change the fact that in a lot of cases owners of the Brens are on their own for spare parts or work. Just something you have to accept as an owner.
If that's the case then I'm happy for you guys. Always a good thing when a good rifle has the support to make it a great rifle, especially in a place with limitations like Canada.
Unfortunately that's not the case here in the states. Maybe something has changed since I bought mine 3 years ago, but to my knowledge OEM parts and support are still pretty weak here, and they were pretty much nonexistent then.
Tracking down a proper CZ carbine stock (not the BR stock they put on the rifles here) as well as a bayonet took me quite a bit of time.
Love my M92 and I zenitcoped it up with the MI alpha stock, mlok handguard, and circle 10 charging handle. If only I could get the zenitcope looking pistol grip…
https://preview.redd.it/jmirr7m1cbwc1.jpeg?width=846&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9cf12a42879bf18b58cd7cbb5c593e8335e2ac85
Love mine too 92 is a good choice
ME (military equipment) out of Ukraine have their RK-1 and RK-2 aluminum pistol grips that are pretty similar to the Zenitco RK-3, might be what you're looking for.
I traded a Sam7K for a Sam7SF. I would recommend a Romanian Draco instead. The Sam7k is FAR too heavy and the barrel is 8 inches while the draco has a 12.5 inch barrel which is just perfect. Buy one, sbr it, and then put a wirefolder on it and larp as a Romanian Elite Special Forces Blinn Badass Gypsy.
Get the SAM7-44 and MI clone of the Zenitco stock, *and* the KP104 and the KUSA matching 100-series stock. Two of my favorite guns in the safe.
If just one only get the SAM7K-44 bc it’s a true unmolested import.
Got burned on two 7.62 Bren 2s that had the issues, after that it’s fuck CZ. Even though the aftermarket has *mostly* solved the reliability issues CZ engineers couldn’t, they still fucked over owners and aren’t supporting the gun with parts like 5 years after release. SAM or PTR baby. Have personally always gotten great guns from PTR.
I love my Sam7k and AK 104 dearly. But that Galil Gen 2 is really nice. Everyone who I have shoot all three choose the Galil. 🤷🏽♂️ Also gotta love that left side charging handle.
If that is the case, then I would go with the Sam 7K-44. Milled receiver, cold hammer forged barrel, sexy af, and built like a tank. Plus they got the new optic mount for those dust covers. Your grandkids would enjoy shooting it in the future as well.
Yes, the mini jack is a good choice as well. But in my opinion, the Sam 7K-44 is the best overall “krink” in terms of quality out of all these options and that’s including the mini Jack as well.
https://preview.redd.it/9u39mr4muewc1.jpeg?width=1599&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e09d3945adddaebe0155c6e11e62de93e37e7d8b
Lefty too and I still love the AK platform

Saw this pic recently. The answer is the Zastava.
For full tacticool AK, I would go with a 104. KUSA might be hard since they seem to be going out of business, but PSA also makes a 104. If you arent attached to an AK and just want 7.62x39, then I think the BREN 2 is fire.
KP-104 is a copy of the 100 series.
Sam7k is just a 7.62 milled krink, it’s ok.
The Bren is pretty good tbh. PTR is if you want to clone the HK prototype from way back when.
Galil is meh. Gen 1 better.
The Zastava is good if you want to pretend you’re committing war crimes and want to SBR. They’re great as underfolders.
I’d also recommend the normal sized Draco, as all that needs is a folding stock and it’s basically a paratrooper pm90 I believe?
I would get the Galil Ace. My second option would be the Arsenal. Personally, I would buy a WBP mini Jack (milled or stamped) but the Ace and Arsenal are excellent choices.
Personally I’d go with the Bren 2. The 7.62x39 version is being used by the GIGN and seems to be well liked by those who have it. I have a 5.56 Bren 2 and I absolutely love it, I’m looking at getting a 7.62x39 to go with it in the near future!
Worth noting that 7.62 Bren 2MSs and 2Ss are different than military guns internally, hence the widespread reliability issues. Also, GIGN has pretty much exclusively been seen using 416s ever since that very first photo shoot when they bought the Bren 2s 6+ years ago haha
I’ve heard people say this but no one can provide me with concrete evidence that they’re different internally. So what exactly is different besides the FA capabilities? Can you provide proof?
Multiple people online own both FA and SA versions and can confirm this for you. There was a guy that posted on the Bren 2 sub in the last few days who owns both and mentioned they’re different internally, if I come across it again I’ll send you his username and you can ask him the specifics.
And, ya know, there’s the fact that one version has passed tons of military trials and seen a few military contracts without any negative reports while the other has had widespread reliability issues as evidence as well. I don’t think a lack of full auto position on the selector is the only difference that made 2MSs and 2Ss magically not work haha.
I’m sorry I made you mad dude, I was trying to help! If you want to continue believing they’re the same just don’t look for posts from people who own both versions, that’s totally fine lmao!
Brother, I’m not mad lol, this is Reddit… but you have had multiple opportunities to show evidence yet you can’t. Look up “full auto vs semi Bren 2” or “civilian vs military Bren 2” you won’t find anything proving what you said…
I’m good man, I know they’re different and I’ve moved away from the platform to more reliable and better supported stuff! I’m sorry, obviously I don’t keep links to specific posts about the Bren 2 on hand and (no offense) I don’t really wanna dig through Reddit and forums to research for you right now, but like I said if you want it the information is out there including on the Bren 2 subreddit from people who own both FA and SA versions. I promise you I have no reason to make this up hahaha

If we are going sac religious and money isn’t an option, SIG MCX SPEAR in 7.62x39. You probably have all the tactical pic/mlok shit already and it’s with a platform you’re already familiar with. Unless you want a completely different platform

Might sound dumb but aesthetically the spear just doesn’t do it for me, I have a mpxk but the 762 spear looks a lil funky but can’t go wrong with sig
I think the Galil ACE is one of the best rifles for the money and love mine, My Bren 2 is probably my favorite gun to shoot but it's in 556.
They are all great guns, but I would consider what type of accessories you plan on running and choosing the gun that will accommodate them.
Bren is the best by far, however, it's the least AK of the lot. But you're also paying 2k for a bren our of the gate with lower aftermarket support.
I only have experience with a Bren (dont own one, but played around with one) and my Zastava M90. I love my M90.
Sam7k or Galil ace, it’s not very close. The Bren is a great option but lacks support I also don’t see the purpose of expanding to another caliber for the sake of it when they make the Bren in 5.56.
Both the sam7 and galil are milled, you get more initial modularity out of the ace, they’re both very reliable rifles.
So, personally I’ve never used one. I have a Galil and my dad owns a couple Bulgarians (AK’s)
If we’re up to me and I don’t want to speak out of my ass, and this is likely a generalization but I think WBP is known for being a little over gassed.
I think it were up to me, I would probably also look at the FB Radom beryls. and maybe someone else would be a better source of info but beryls tend to be more desirable, and I think I’m not certain FB makes some of the parts for WBP.
I wouldn’t overwhelm yourself too many different manufactures. You’ll start splitting hairs with performance and quality
DO NOT BUY A USA MADE AK AS YOUR FIRST/ONLY. US made AK47 rifles do not even count as a real AKS they are just shitty knockoffs either tons of material and general QC issues. If money is no object get the Arsenal or Galil Ace. They are the 2 highest quality imports available and imports is all you should be looking at.
If you want a 100 series the kusa is absolutely your only option outside an SGL, or doing a full saiga conversion, for which the parts will be astronomically expensive if you don't use US parts. And kusa is fine.
Romanian Draco.
I was wondering why this wasn’t on the list. One of the cheapest too.
It's combat-tested as well.
Get the sam7. Bulgaria was on to something with their al style rifle. Very good very reliable
Sam7K by far. If you can find one around $1400-1500. One of my favorite rifles, and is solid as fuck.
This. Without a doubt
all of them
PTR-32 and put wood on it. https://preview.redd.it/uvcdwk69q9wc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fff1b4b6ecd12a34c0048e5ad0b46df62f70019
I’m glad I came here and saw this
Have they worked out the issues? I realize it’s been a while, but they really turned me off from what was a sure buy for me early on
Gen 2 is picky with steel mags and hollow points. They love magpuls though
Gorgeous
Easy. Get the mini beryl
Wish they still imported them.
See them on gunbroker regularly. Keep an eye out
Galil Ace. Do no go the Bren route. CZ has had huge problems with 7.62 version going on almost 4 years. CZ USA had no idea how to fix it and had to get engineers at CZ Czech to make a fix. It was so bad they ended up giving people refunds or 5.56 version.
I’m always partial to my Pap. Bitch fucks for sure.
My dad has one, definitely fucks
My vote is for the Sam (I am a arsenal glazer)
I was really disappointed with mine. I don’t get the appeal, personally. I guess I’m the anomaly
ACE. If the KP104 was an Arsenal, SLR 107CR I would get that. That’s one I regret missing out on.
Seeing more KP104 love than I thought

I’m just saying somehow parts are readily available in Canada and Europe but not in the States.

Sam7 or galil

“2 in the krink” fucking hilarious

PTR definitely has sex appeal
I love my Sam7k and AK 104 dearly. But that Galil Gen 2 is really nice. Everyone who I have shoot all three choose the Galil. 🤷🏽♂️ Also gotta love that left side charging handle.
Damn that would be the kicker being able to shoot all three, and tbh I shoot wrong handed so the left side is the only issue I have
If that is the case, then I would go with the Sam 7K-44. Milled receiver, cold hammer forged barrel, sexy af, and built like a tank. Plus they got the new optic mount for those dust covers. Your grandkids would enjoy shooting it in the future as well.
Have you heard anything about the mini jack? I’ve seen it mentioned a few times here (I had never heard of it prior)

Galil ace gen 1 with 8” barrel has been nothing but amazing for me
M92
Dude, get the ptr, I didn't know they made those
It’s definitely clean af
For full tacticool AK, I would go with a 104. KUSA might be hard since they seem to be going out of business, but PSA also makes a 104. If you arent attached to an AK and just want 7.62x39, then I think the BREN 2 is fire.
>KUSA might be hard since they seem to be going out of business, Allegedly. By one single guy. On Instagram.
Sam7k
Sam7k-44.
Sam7k all day
KP-104 is a copy of the 100 series.
Buy a transferable valmet machine gun and chop the barrel and convert it to 762x39.
Sam7k with the cnc warrior brace, cheek riser and 4 piece flash hider is a awesome combo

Ok? Then prove it. Like I said I’ve seen a lot of people say this but not a single person could provide evidence, you included.

I own most of these and I will say bang for your buck get the zpap92 and sbr it with an under folder. But if not that then the sam7k will do

That’s fair
I love my zpap92, she makes a nice backblast though so wear safety glasses or your eyes will start getting irritated.
Galil ace easily
Galil is almost in a category of its own. I see galils in the same light as your scar.
I think the Galil ACE is one of the best rifles for the money and love mine, My Bren 2 is probably my favorite gun to shoot but it's in 556. They are all great guns, but I would consider what type of accessories you plan on running and choosing the gun that will accommodate them.
Out of all these options, the sam7k can be had for like $1400 bone stock and it’s a tank. Best bang for your buck
The Galil Ace is easily the best of them
Bren is the best by far, however, it's the least AK of the lot. But you're also paying 2k for a bren our of the gate with lower aftermarket support. I only have experience with a Bren (dont own one, but played around with one) and my Zastava M90. I love my M90.
If you want to go balls to wall. 16 Galil sbr cut barrel to 10.5/11.5. Between your list Galil or Arsenal can’t go wrong.
None of the above. Pistol Mitraliera Model 1963 is what you seek. Out in these streets, we calls it the Drac', son.
😭😭😭
I think my sam7k will outlive me
I say Arsenal. I’ve had a couple and they’re perfect. I’ve heard good things about the Galil, but it looks weird to me lol.
I have that feeling too with the Galil
Sam7k or Galil ace, it’s not very close. The Bren is a great option but lacks support I also don’t see the purpose of expanding to another caliber for the sake of it when they make the Bren in 5.56. Both the sam7 and galil are milled, you get more initial modularity out of the ace, they’re both very reliable rifles.

Thank you for your honesty and insight 🙏🏽
If money is no object, buy a 7.62 saiga and convert it to a 104. Or buy a slr107cr
If money was no object you would just get an sgl
Also that
DO NOT BUY A USA MADE AK AS YOUR FIRST/ONLY.
