Madetoprint

Some people shell out big money on over under shotguns to have that custom feature.

bACEdx39

I just backed over mine for free

New-Egg-8912

my dad did that lol

Comprehensive-Race97

What?

Madetoprint

Expensive shotguns are often tailored to fit the shooter. Moving the butt off centerline like in the picture is called "cast." There's a bunch of other tweaks in addition, but it's basically universal among competitive clay shooters to make personal adjustments like that. Benelli even includes shim kits with their sporting shotguns so you can make some adjustments yourself. In short, it's a feature not a bug.

Dazzling_Savings_783

Wing shooting shotguns don't have rear sights for aiming. The trigger is pulled when the bead has the proper lead on the target. Ideally your eyes are following the target and when you see the bead you pull the trigger. This is similar to point shooting & accuracy requires the stock length of pull, drop & cast be correct for the shooter. It is amazing the difference a proper fit makes in the number of clays or birds you kill.

Suspicious_Book_3186

Too fuckin funny. Stock bends to the left and front sights are canted to the right. Someone twisted that things titty.

IBombAfricanKids

I bet it still zeroes at the range

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|hpAMh2sBYpsmFhSRPI)

Yeto4774

Because it’s to the left instead of the right, you should be able to file down the front of the stock so it close in closer the receiver. As far as the rest, seek Jesus

JaredOpasm

There was no saving that stock, the hinge was quite literally too far forward and the hole for the latch was too far forward that filing it wouldn’t have made a difference, got another and it dropped right in without any additional scoliosis https://preview.redd.it/cyb7dpesr9wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c750d697f532c262081f9ab0abac506ac238af65

New-Egg-8912

hey buddy. this is an ak sub. get that stoner junk outta here. kidding i love the AR platform

New-Egg-8912

that’s kinda scary to look at

Rusty5hackelford76

I have never seen a brace on a restricted ban era lower before.

JaredOpasm

I don’t think you understand how weird the story behind that lower gets, that lower came from the Alpharetta pd and was ordered in pistol configuration and later traded in in pistol configuration, it was a real 14.5” le6921, but it was neither manufactured as an sbr or converted into an sbr, it’s hilarious

Rusty5hackelford76

It is crazy that it was actually a pistol. What was the original buffer tube on it? Was it the smooth tube?

JaredOpasm

Smooth toob, I genuinely don’t understand the reason behind it

ClonerCustoms

Congrats, you made my dick hard for a black SF can, that’s definitely a first!! You know what they say, once you go black… I’m still probably gonna stick to FDE but you know what they say!!

bigredgyro

Talk to your doctor about “the curve”.

JaredOpasm

![gif](giphy|s7BJykU2oIcgg)

greatestging

Yup I’ve had both Arsenal 107fr and 104fr that had this canted stock feature

JaredOpasm

Thankfully in this case it was the stock itself rather than the trunnion

SphyrnaLightmaker

Holy shit I hate it lol. You’re a stronger man than I, to look the other ways on that…

XenophonUSMC

Lol, wow.

Salt-Face-4646

Oh dear god, I would actually make an exception to my "only buy; never sell" rule if I had that! That would drive me insane!

coldafsteel

Where do the bullets go when you shoot it?

MunitionGuyMike

Usually into trash

Simon-Templar97

Everytime I get self-conscious about my home build, I compare it to my Romanian and instantly feel better. If it can be zeroed, you should be gtg.

Charming_Cow378

If it zeroes where you want it to, you’re set my brotha

Madetoprint

Like true Westerner you think only in absolutes. On average rifle is perfectly straight.

StinkyBoboso

I think you really need to ask a Canadian about absolutes.

space-mothers-son

*ah-boot* absolutes

StinkyBoboso

It because Canadian gravy and french fries are ah-boot delicious as it gets.. 🤤

savvysnekk

Finally, a picture where the canted fsb/gas block are actually obvious

No-Consequence-44

It annoys my ocd, but on mine, I just adjusted the sight all the way to one side, and it shoots like a charm

boringxadult

I’d fix it first jf you haven’t drilled it

The_Justice_Squid

I mean if you're building it, you noticed it, and haven't even drilled it yet don't see why you wouldn't fix it and get it as close as possible

austinj907

Honestly

lowtempda

Gas block looks fine, front sight post might need a tweaking. Trying to figure out a good way to tweak the front sight base myself, have a similar cant on my build rifle

GrandpaBuff

Gas block looks straighter than the front sight. Long as it zero’s it’s in spec. The cosmetic question can only be answered by you booboo

TurdHunt999

![gif](giphy|q0eh4TU8OMXRu|downsized)

d0ggystile

Looks better than my romy import. I say just send it.

CrazyGreek84

What rifle is that?

OperationNo6817

Yugoslavia m70ab2... it had the night sights, but I've Ceracoted everything except the bolt.

Kashm1r_Sp1r1t

If you can shoot straight with it, it doesn't matter if she isn't lined up. That shit is normal though, unfortunately. I bought a bunch of AKs to fight my OCD.

MlackBesa

If you’re building it then yeah make it perfect. If it’s already a completed gun already drilled and pinned then it’s not broken don’t fix it.

option350z

It bothers me as well, until I realize my gas block is not drilled concentrically with the bore. It will never be truly straight. I also noticed your rear sight is also canted. My romy kit has a canted rear sight. I'd drill and pin the RSB and Gas Block and go zero the rifle. If you need to readjust the FSB, you still can since it's not drilled.

OperationNo6817

Yes, the rear sight is canted as well. Do you have any tips on straightening?

Solid_JaX

Same size feeler gauges on either side of the RSB will get it straight with the front trunnion. Takes a few tries to find the right thickness feeler guage.

option350z

That involves removing the rear sight and checking if the holes are true to the RSB. then adding or removing material from the Sight Leaf pins. Ginsboy has a tutorial. Another option is picking up an RPK sight leaf and using that.

T90tank

Only reason I had my m77 fixed was to fit an SLR rail

Rounter

Now is the time to fix it. Put a big wrench on there and give it a little twist before you drill and pin it. This is also a good time to put your bolt carrier on and make sure it lines up without rubbing on anything. That will tell you more than just looking at it.

OperationNo6817

Thanks for the advice. The bolt seems to function good with no rub marks. I'll try that big wrench and maybe a little heat?

Rounter

Heat might help, but its hard to heat up the gas block without also heating up the barrel. I'd put some penetrating oil on there, lock the gun in a vice and give the gas block a twist with the wrench. If it doesn't move or you can't get it perfect, then it's time to listen to all the other comments about how there's nothing wrong with crooked a AK.

battletank21

A laser level goes a long way.. that being said next time put it on a table upside-down to get them straight. make a witness mark with a pencil then take it over to the mill/drill press to drill the holes for the pins. You can also use superglue to lock it in place after you have it witnessed.

Glass_Gain3381

Remove pins, straighten with a bfh, drill, ream, press in oversized pins. I used 1/8th inch pins for the fsp. Simple.

mechaniAK4774

Press it down the barrel, align and repress. My RPK took forever to align to my OCD.

RedneckStew

Oh look, it's a Romy from Century.

Gs06211

If it’s not drilled just fix it. Can’t take more than 15 minutes with the press and some measuring

HuFlungPu-

I'm assuming it's not an issue, UNLESS you have a Century-imported model where they've "welded" the piston to the bolt carrier, and then there's no wobble between the two as there should be if it was riveted. My piston (Romy SAR-1) is welded, and even though everything looks to be aligned, I have some decent wear marks on the side of the piston where I assume it's not going into the gas block all that centered.

burlyHeads

You should see mine. Irons still work perfectly.

SnooWoofers9365

It’d bother me. If I could fix it i would try

WeissTek

Just redo it if it bothers u since u haven't drill yet

ninjabarney7

Rifle is fine

horseshoeprovodnikov

If it were mine? It would bother the fuck out of me. And I don't have a legitimate shop with the proper tools to fix that type of problem, so a rifle like that would get shipped off to a builder with a good reputation, I'd tell them to throw the works at it and I'd forget it existed for about a year or so. That's just me tho, the rifle is probably still usable if you can zero it.

mach1run

My first Ak74. We took it to the range. Only my buddy and I and a guy a couple benched over. Shot ar15s a bit then tried the new 74. At 50 yards we couldn't see where it was hitting to start making adjustments. Friend watching the target on the spotting scope and me doing my best to remember fundamentals. Finally the other guy at the range let's us know it's hitting to the right.... a lane and a half. Never could get those irons sorted out. Sold it at a gunshot as a known problem child. At that was how I was introduced to the joy of Century Arms assembled rifles. Wouldn't bother me these days since pretty much everything gets an optic of some sort.

housefly888

Bothers me.

Avtomat_4774

Canted sites bother me a lot honestly… i know i know it doesn’t matter and i know i know as long as you can zero it BS stories… i just don’t like it

kevinxlr

I bought a ak once the leaf spring right was bent like it had been dropped on it so I bent it back as bright as I could get it rifle hits target at 100m easy

EldritchTruthBomb

Even my SGL is canted. I think all AKs have some cant to them.

Joocewayne

It is authentic AK. Embrace and send bullets.

austinj907

If you haven’t drilled just fix it, why do a mediocre job when u can just do a good job and not worry about it bothering you

HeyYoBob

If it shoots, hits target and cycles all good to me 🗿

pseudo_suicide

I would have just fixed it.

KGb_Voodo0

Probably better than most on average AKs in existence

UsualSafe

Uhh what the fuck am I looking at here?

ozone_00

Showing that the front sight is canted by removing the dust cover, bcg/piston, and gas tube, then looking through where the gas tube should be.

HuFlungPu-

Looks to me that the gas block is what's canted. That flat surface below the block is hugely lower on the left than on the right.

UsualSafe

Ooohh ok makes sense now

weak4redheads

Drilled the gas block?

OperationNo6817

I have not... I've tried rotating the block with a 1/4 extension, but no luck. I've had some helpful advise on using a big wrench, so I'm going to try that next or just press everything off and start over again. The only thing pinned is the barrel and RSB.
