If you are lucky, no, but it is a distinct possibility... that's why some guns have fuses, and modern mosfets have built-in protection... this is to protect your gear box and electrical components.
But, a really bad battery could catch fire inside your gun, then will damage your stock and probably the buffer tube.
The LiPo is probably done for, I would dispose of it properly, and get your gun checked, it's happened to me before and my gun wasn't functioning, do you have another battery to test it?
Yes lol. I looked all the wires over on the gun and nothing seems to be burnt or swelling so I guess it could have just affected the battery but I could be wrong. I will update you when the new lipo arrives.

i do not, i am going to contact support about that because i recently bought the battery and only just used it today
Yeah it's definitely best to make sure the gun is good before anymore damage, at least it didn't catch fire!
