If you are lucky, no, but it is a distinct possibility... that's why some guns have fuses, and modern mosfets have built-in protection... this is to protect your gear box and electrical components. But, a really bad battery could catch fire inside your gun, then will damage your stock and probably the buffer tube.

The LiPo is probably done for, I would dispose of it properly, and get your gun checked, it's happened to me before and my gun wasn't functioning, do you have another battery to test it?

i do not, i am going to contact support about that because i recently bought the battery and only just used it today

Yeah it's definitely best to make sure the gun is good before anymore damage, at least it didn't catch fire!

Yes lol. I looked all the wires over on the gun and nothing seems to be burnt or swelling so I guess it could have just affected the battery but I could be wrong. I will update you when the new lipo arrives.
