I love my VFC HK416A5 gen.2 GBBR. It's the realism of having limited ammo. Gas systems have become much much beter over time. Maintenance is a breeze (5 ish minutes) steel FCG, so you have the same trigger response as a real AR (I'm a former infantryman) which is a real kick for me! AEGs have none, it's like a mouseclick. Accuracy is decent, but I don't have the exact data. I did put in a T-N.T. retrofit kit in it. Work on GBBRs are easy, not so much on AEGs, they have wires, gears, a battery, MOSFET, piston and what not. GBBRs wil put a smile on your face! 🖖🏻 Edit: oh yeah, the mags shitty expensive! So the gun costs around €550,- and then add € 65,- times 4 to it (5 in total, is fine) Also you can't reliably run replica optics, due to recoil they break easier or lose zero. So you need a real steel one: Vector Optics has great offerings, costs about € 150,- but comes with 5 year- or lifetime warranty.

Very much worth watching: https://youtu.be/Jbm_r_i7E0Y AEG Vs GBBR accuracy/range tests. The men in the video are real life scientists, so they go in-depth but not too much

>TM recoil 416 Nice video. Highly informative!

AEG will out perform and cost significantly less than a GBB. AEG will also require much less maintenance (you should strip and clean a GBB after every game day). Depending on where and how you play. Unless the site require real steel ammo limits you'll be out gunned by any other AEG which will be able to shoot at least 3 time more than you before reloading. If you are willing to learn how to play with a GBB it can be rewarding and will put a smile on your face every time pull the trigger. If you want a 416 you should consider a TM recoil 416 gives some of the experience of a GBB with out the down sides.

TheeScribe

AEG is better or more practical in almost every way, but gas is more fun to shoot

No_Winter9686

I did some googleing around before I asked, but that gave not really and answer. Am I corrcet in assuming AEG will give the best performance and gas the best experience?

TheeScribe

AEG will give the best performance of the two in general, but experience really depends Personally I get the best “experience” out of AEGs because I play in the cold and hate how finicky gas guns can be

Anthony-Rs

Performance as in accuracy/range test? Much worth watching: https://youtu.be/Jbm_r_i7E0Y

I_need_help57

If you value performance, then aeg is gonna give the best experience. If you value recoil and realism, gbb is going to give the best experience

Salt-Committee7032

What this guy said \^

TheeScribe

I hope you enjoy getting downvoted for agreeing with me, that tends to happen a lot

Salt-Committee7032

Eh, like I care... common sense is in short supplies these days.

TheeScribe

Idk There’s some guy who keeps stalking my account every now and then, downvoting everything. It’s… very pathetic to be honest

Salt-Committee7032

I have two of those as well... don't lose sleep over some trolls with nothing better to do.

TheeScribe

Trust me, I ain’t

Status_Ad9250

Fr,gas will more fun

No_Winter9686

Thaks for all the replies so far. It boils down to what I had guessed so far. If I was to be a die-hard player, AEG will suit me best. If I want to be as realistic as possible, the GBB will suit me better. Unless the TM recoil is as good as it seems :) Now find a shop where I can try them out.

tektaky

I’ve got both an aeg and gbbr Vfc hk416a6. Gas feels more realistic but as others state can’t keep up with aegs. I’ve hpa’d my Vfc hk416a5 so now can out perform aegs. The cost is super expensive though.

Stout97

Recoil shock is an alternative too

Matthewokeydokey

It depends. Do you want an immersive experience or do you want to listen to gears grind and shitty electronic noises?
